Really good BBQ is hard to find. This isn't the best, but it's good. If it's done right you won't need sauce. This needed a little sauce. The sauces are not what we're used to, but we each found a favorite. I liked the XXX. Hubby liked the bourbon sauce. We had baked beans, slaw, sweet potato casserole and something else that must be forgettable because neither of us can remember. We also had hush puppies. The sweet potato casserole was the best of the sides. The portions were huge. We took home enough for lunch the next day. Would come back again for sure. What a find! This family run BBQ was one of the best we have visited! My husband got brisket and I BBQ chicken. They have excellent homemade BBQ sauces. Try the bourbon with the XXXX sauce, yum. The sides were fabulous! We had Mac n cheese, baked beans, slaw, hush puppies (which were yummy) and the owner gave us Nana's pudding for dessert. Servings were generous, we have leftovers for lunch! We have been waiting for this restaurant to open and couldn't wait to have lunch here today! The atmosphere is like no other in Florence. It's casual, colorful, and rustic with a big city feel! The service was fast and friendly! We had hush puppies with honey butter, loaded tater tots with brisket, the Holt Hero BBQ sandwich, and the Holt American burger I made sure to try all the sauces and I couldn't pick a favorite.... they are all so yummy! Great place I would like to start off with! Ownership and management has to be some of the best. Made at great first impression on a slow Friday afternoon. But I was steered around on the barbecue lol. I had brisket and my father had pulled pork. The meats were done perfect & juicy and smoky. But the bbq is definitely different, they had some crazy flavor sauces. Not a big fan of sweet whiskey, or a sweet sour vinaigrette kinda flavor. My husband and I have not had a single thing here that we have not enjoyed. The brisket is our favorite and we love all the different sauce options for the meats. This is the perfect place to go if you need quick good food. They are very friendly and helpful when you come in and get your food out to you lighting fast. I split the Brisket Plater with mac and cheese and tater tots. I was nervous at first because it didn't look like a big portion, but it was very filling. One of the guys from the kitchen even gave us some free dessert which was good as well. I give it three stars because the seating inside could use some improvement. The chairs are mismatched which threw us off a little bit. They give you plastic forks, hand wrapped in a napkin which also was a bit odd. Well I gave it a try on 9/15/21. I don't go in Resturants thanks to Covid so I went through the drive thru. Well, I ordered a brisket sandwich. The menu said $10.99. Well I drove around back to pick up and server informed me the sandwich was $15.37. Nothing said there was price increase. Bait and switch!! Well this better be damn good. !!! When i got home and opened the box, it looked like they had scraped the crumbs out of the pot. Nothing but very dry fine crumbs!!!! And they did not include any bbq sauce either. Not sure what the other yelpers are talking about but this place is awesome!! The bbq is delicious!! I have been twice and it has been great both times. The pulled pork tacos were my fav!! I also got a bbq sandwich and added pimento cheese. It was just as tasty. They have a variety of sauces but the bbq itself is very flavorful. We have been at lunch and dinner and not had an extremely long wait either time. There is limited seating which is my only real gripe about the place. It is a must try if you like bbq. read more

GREAT place to eat. It is sometimes a little hard to get in and out of, especially at peaks hours. The parking is sometimes hard to find a place to park, again, especially at certain times.
