Their salsa is a bit on the spicier side but is made with fresh ingredients and tastes good! You can tell that it's homemade, which is an expectation for any Mexican restaurant. I got the chicken ACP. It is great but just like the salsa, something in it (likely the cheese) has a kick! All of the components (rice, chicken, and cheese) have good flavor. For a Sunday, this place was busy! I tried the guacamole and salsa as a first because that will usually tell you if the food is decent. Well, the salsa and guacamole were tasty and fresh. Well, I got 3 tacos as well, carne asada and shredded chicken. Both were a bit overcooked and lacking flavor, so I was a bit disappointed with that. This place use to be really good, but the quality has dropped over the last year. The gorditas were soaking with grease and lacked flavor, al pastor didn't have any pineapple in it and hardly any crema on the top. Carne asada tacos were flavorless. The chips are heavy and not good. Salsas are good and customer services is always great, but overall, we have tried to give this place many chances, and we have said one too many times this is our last. In town for work for a night and stopped in for dinner. The staff welcomed us and promptly seated us. It was Tuesday so my wife had tacos. I had the Camarones el Diablo. We both enjoyed our dinners. The shrimp were just right, enough spice to be good but not so much as to be uncomfortable. The dining room was comfortable, nicely decorated and moderately quiet. We never have any complaints when we come here. We live an hour away and it's definitely worth the drive. The food is always super good, the service is always great and they are super friendly and I love all the decor inside. I normally get tacos with a side of rice but I decided to get the Gorditas with a side of rice and they were amazing. With the Gorditas you can choose any kind of meat and you can mix and match them. I had the asada, carnitas and the suadero. My mom had 2 shrimp quesadillas which she said were delicious. She ordered 2 not knowing that they were kind of big. My mom also got the strawberry tres leches cake and I got the strawberry cheesecake. They were both delicious! I did forget to get pictures of them. For anyone who makes the trek from the Triad to our southeastern beaches like Oak Island, Holden, Ocean Isle, etc you know the opportunities and selection on where to eat are pretty limited. You can either stop in Rockingham or Laurinburg for a halfway meal, and the choices on places to eat are mainly fast food. If we aren't feeling the CFA or Smithfield's, this is a great place to stop for some tacos. The Taco Factory looked a little different pre-COVID. There was a toppings and salsa bar, now the staff will top them for you however you want instead. I miss the self customization, but obviously things are how they are for now at least. Even when busy on travel days where people are going back and forth through this town, they keep the tables moving. Service and food is pretty quick to come out. The tacos are good enough to satisfy, but won't completely wow you. The chips are quite good, and you have lots of salsa to choose from, which is nice. All in all, a worthy stop for the travelers coming through, and for the locals who might want a taco fix! read more

Cool little me Mexican restaurant conveniently located next to 220 as you pass through Rockingham. Incredibly nice staff offering prompt service. The space is compact, yet nicely decorated and has a huge covered deck for warmer weather. We loved the tacos! They offer an incredible array of authentic fillings - more than any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. This alone is reason not to pass Taco Factory buy. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband is Hispanic, and he said it was some of the best Mexican food he has ever eaten at a restaurant. The horchata was 1000/100 good! During each visit, I was seated right away and the food was delivered to the table quickly. So far, I've tried the tacos [corn tortilla] and the taco salad. The food was decent however the meat lacked seasoning. I ordered shredded chicken in my taco salad - the chicken was bland and tough. The prices are extremely reasonable. Food was good , but service could be what better we were in the patio and we had to get everything ourselves expect for the food that's the only thing the server gave us . They are very unattended didn't even check if we needed refill or just a check in . Not only but upon just getting out on take out plates my grandma pay the bill but as we left she noticed that she left her card and we call the store asap and we ask if the card was there as we describe and name on the card we was told it's wasn't there and the only card they have was a pink card not a red one . Our first visit was awesome when we stopped as we were coming through Rockingham. My wife loved their ACP. So for her birthday, she said she wanted Mexican food, and since it was for her birthday, we drove an hour back down to Rockingham. Now, we have a plethora of good Mexican restaurants in town, so when I say we drove an hour away to get some, you know it was pretty dang good the first time. We took our son with us. She got the ACP, and since she had bragged on it so much, he did too. They both said it was very good. I decided to try their birria taco's, and they were soooo good and now my new favorite. The salsa was too mild and had way too much cumin taste for me. Just me so I can't hold that against them. I remember it being better our first visit and don't remember the cumin taste. Anyway, recipes change or it could have been just me. I asked if they had any hotter salsa, and I think he misunderstood my southern and heard sauce, instead of salsa. In Rockingham for work and seen that The Taco Factory came highly recommended. Stopped in to see what all the buzz was about. Everyone greeted me as I walked in. Everyone was hustling about getting orders out to other patrons. The cooks were nonstop in preparing the food. My server came over immediately and took my order. I ordered 2 Shrimp flour tacos, a Shrimp Quesadilla, Pineapple Jarritos and a Strawberry Margarita. I would gotten the Churros but they were already made and was cold so I decided against them. I actually felt that way about majority of the food. I sat directly across from where the food came out and by the time it was placed on the counter and to my table was a time span of about 2-3 mins. And everything was cold. It didn't make sense. The chips also came out cold, 2 salsas were bought out with the chips but a tradition one and something they created in the kitchen that tasted like a ketchup/mayo mix which I did not love. The food was honestly nothing to drag about and I probably would go back. If you've read my review you would know I don't eat meat so course I ordered all meatless options. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadillas but was bought out the trio Quesadillas. I immediately informed my waiter after cutting into it, he then took the plate BACK to the counter and corrected my order and proceed to take the food I had just cut into to another table. DISGUSTING!! So afterwards my eyes were locked on my plate! Because, why would you do that? I ordered a Jarritos but was bought out a pineapple juice, which HOW? One is a soda!!! Food was excellent, the chimichanga and vegetarian burrito were both really good. Not bland, seasoning was perfect and the ingredients tasted fresh. Food was not greasy. The workers are efficient and get everything to you very quickly. The music and atmosphere was very nice, hearing Oye Mi Amor when walking in was surprising (one of my favorite songs) so that was wonderful. We decided to stop and grab some lunch from The Taco Factory today. We were pleased with the service, cleanliness and food. Our table of 3 adults and 2 children ordered a torta, pork carnitas, taco salad and two kids meals. We were presented and I happily paid our bill but when the card and receipt was returned the total had changed. I was confused and then referred to the menu to cross reference prices. Each food item had increased in price on the itemized receipt from the menu price. I questioned why this was occurring. The gentlemen explained and showed me the small print on the front.of the menu... Use of credit cards will incur an additional fee. However there is no mention of a % or flat rate. I missed the small print on the front of the menu and have no idea what the upcharge actually is based on the receipt menu prices.. Again, the food and service were good but I felt a bit like I had received a bait switch and it's terrible business practice. read more

The atmosphere is cool. If the weather is nice sit outside. Chips were a little different. Don't know if they were stale or what. But we ate them. My order was basic. 3 hard tacos and One soft taco. Can't complain at all. The taco itself was fresh and the meat was cooked. A little bit more seasoning might have helped. All in all, the experience was good.
