Then when they get a promised delivery date there is no proactive follow up to ensure the delivery takes place. I was promised my mother's headstone would finally be installed on August 1, 2025. We purchased it in October 2024 yet as of August 17, 2025 there is no grave marker. There has never once been proactive communication or follow up from the this company. Basically my mother has been in an unmarked grave. I insisted months ago that they at least put a temporary grave marker on the stone took forever to get that also. Burying my mother was so absolutely expensive from this funeral home and this cemetery. They say one is separate from the other but clearly they work together since the funeral home took my check payable to them for my my mother's grave marker. I do not recommend this place at all for anyone and I am so disappointed my parents chose this place to be buried. I am now convinced they do not care about the dead. They do not care about our loved ones. If they did care, I would not be waiting 10 months for a headstone that I paid $6000 for and not once received proactive communication no nor have I seen any demonstrated effort to ensure that my mother is not in an unmarked grave! It was the combination of the sights and sounds of St Pauls, a place that holds so many memories for me, most of them now bittersweet. The weight of these visions, weighed me down in the pew, and I could do nothing but let them wash over me and let the tears anoint my cheeks... If you are searching for a comprehensive, useful review here, stop reading. Instead, you will have to endure the muddled recollections of a broken man. St Pauls is a fine enough church with a friendly and welcoming congregation, the only possible criticism is that its a little too traditional and it possibly puts too much emphasis on the external beauty of itself more than the internal (soul). I grew up here, St Pauls was (is?) my home church. I was "forced" to come here as a teen by my Godmother/Aunt, who was worried about my spiritual upbringing. My adolescence was not a fun time. An absent father and an alcoholic and mentally ill mother were wearing away at my soul and I could have gone a number of directions in my social life- all of them damaging. I credit my Aunt with getting me to the right place at the right time thus steering me into the right direction. At St Pauls, I found the perfect family in their Youth Group, affectionately known as SPY (St Pauls Youth). In them, I made friendships and connections that have lasted throughout my life. My fellow teens became like brothers and sisters and the Youth advisers became like parents ( or maybe more accurately, cool aunts and uncles). It was this motley crew, that kept me in line and sane throughout the tumultuous High School years. Upon Graduation, we, who were left behind, didn't want it to end so we volunteered to guide the next generation of SPY and formed our own group of 20somethings, who met with the singular purpose to play some intense Volleyball...and maybe talk about that God guy. It was at our weekly Volleyball meetings that I met my future wife, a beautiful , shy but courageous German au pair, who found our group by flipping through the phone book. I was almost immediately smitten and what followed was a great relationship, that yielded a marriage and 2 wonderful children. So many of our milestones happened here. We weren't married here ( it took place in Germany) but we did have a quasi-reception for family and friends, who didn't make the trip to Germany. There were baptisms, Christmas pageants, play groups, and of course, our weekly Sunday school and church. St Pauls was as much a part of our lives as any family member could be. St Pauls was the epicenter of everything good and positive in my life Sadly, mental illness reared its ugly head in my life once again and claimed both my wife and a beloved member of my SPY youth leaders in a way that intertwined us in the worst of possible ways. No details only to say that all of the good and positive in my life had become a negative of itself. To look back at the "good" times was torturous and instead, I distanced myself from St Pauls. A place that was once the epicenter of good was now the epicenter of pain. So many memories, so many ghosts, swirled around the church and I, in my anguish, avoided it altogether. ...Until this year. I don't know what possessed me to attend the Christmas service with my estranged wife and children. They ( the kids) always loved the candlelight service and singing Christmas Hymns and I have to say that St Pauls does it right. They had a string quartet complete with the most melancholy of instruments, the cello and I cant even explain to what it was like for this soundtrack to accompany the ghosts of my past like that. It was tough indeed, but by the end, I feel like I had forged an uneasy truce with the building. Its hard to say, whether or not I look at St Pauls as a place where everything good began or everything bad began. I cant blame a building for the acts of man (and women). Those tortuous memories dwell inside of me, regardless of if this Church still stands or how far I am away from it and its up to me to keep the ghosts from chilling my heart. What I'm trying to say, St Pauls, is that I forgive you. Oh yeah, did I mention that Captain Noah goes here? Awesome!

A very solemn place but with an active parish with most all parishoners particpating at the service as I looked around. There is young,middle and high school age kids. The pastor did a very nice job and was a seasoned preacher. The message was nice and the service was traditional. After the service they had a nice coffee hour and the parishoners were as friendly there as they were when I entered. That made me feel like everyone was truly genuine. I learned there was much activities offered for kids, adults and families. I will definately attend again.

I grew up right nearby this place, and have many fond (yes, really) memories of playing "Ghost in the Graveyard" (a form of tag) amongst the stones, as well as joining in with the other kids searching through chunks of the freshly broken earth of the graves for 'gemstones' (tiny garnets and quartz, basically). So, what; makes this cemetery 4 stars, my friends? In a word: History. In the oldest part of the cemetery (near the corner of Argyle & Wynnewood Roads) are graves dating back to 1765, and within the cemetery's boundaries (only two blocks wide) lies at least one veteran of every war fought since the inception of the United States except the Mexican - American war. There's also the old Dutch Schoolhouse, a one-room stone building built in 1787. In the mid 1800s its' basement was used to store bodies over the cold winter when ground could not be dug. Families paid $0.25 a month to "store" their loved one's remains. Each year around Halloween for the past five years or so there is a "Haunted Walk" at the Cemetery and Schoolhouse hosted by members of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church congregation (co-located across the street from the cemetery on Wynnewood at Athens). The grounds are open to the public from "dawn to dusk". There is only one road that parallels Wynnewood and spans Athens - Argyle. Caretakers are generally friendly, as long as you behave yourselves. The LM PD often park nearby to do paperwork so anyone up to mischief is pretty quickly caught. I enjoy walking this cemetery. It's a well kept space with kind staff and some pretty interesting stories to tell and things to see. Be gentle, and it will be gentle back.

Williams Funeral Home…read more My daughters and I were near the end of 48 day ordeal, including 5 ambulances/emergency rooms and an ICU, a rehabilitation, and hospice as my wife of 59 years faded away. As the end neared, we contacted Scott regarding cremation and funeral. He put us at ease as he went over all the details. Then he took care of all the details, culminating in a wonderful funeral, including an Irish bagpiper and a release of doves. He respectfully orchestrated the ceremony and reception. Along the way, he gave advice on all of the postmortem documents and procedures. He made it easy for us to concentrate on grieving. I'm not easy to please, but I give Scott my highest recommendation.

If you know anything about planning a funeral during this time then you know how extremely difficult it was getting things done. This was the first place to treat us with a little warmth. We got to come in and design our stone. We seen sample stones. It may not seem like much but considering we had to pick out his casket, flowers and burial spot from a book this was nice to be able to do. The ladies that assisted us were VERY accommodating and any time I needed help with questions they responded very quickly. We got a very nice and beautiful headstone. Hopefully, we will not have to use them any time soon. But will definitely bring our business here when that time comes.

We had to fight to extend it to a hour. There was no guest book, (extra). The decor looked like a yard sale exploded inside the place. Guests had to ask repeatedly for "Funeral" Flags for the cars. The body was picked up 2 blocks from the home, the cemetery is only a few miles from the home and it was held on a Saturday during the Philadelphia Bike Race, a few feet from the festivities, so, it was not a high demand time for them. It was basically a family gathering to say goodbye to a life long lived and we felt as if we were bothering them because it was not a more expensive funeral. As a small businesswoman, I value all customers and every sale. I felt Fitzpatrick, does not. Spending less is not a crime or something to be ashamed of. Tsk tsk.
