One of the best thrift/consignment stores in town! I have purchased so many staple wardrobe pieces from here throughout the years. Everything from ski/snow gear to jewelry. Love this store. Great prices. The owners are always very friendly. They also finally have the tops a little more by size. They are pretty picky with what they take. They have no brands from outlet malls 40 miles out, which to me is a bummer because I would buy gap or tommy there if they carried it. Also a small men's section that my hubby loves. Four of us walked into Holy Toledo at 3:48 on a Saturday during peak ski season. As we opened the door, the shopkeeper said they were closing in three minutes. What, the store closes at 3:51 during peak ski season? The clerk said we could enter if we knew exactly what we were going to buy. Huh, how does one know exactly what they want to buy in a consignment shop whose inventory constantly turns over? The shopkeeper then went to a closed off back room never to be seen again. The woman behind the counter honestly ruined my day and ruined the excitement of new purchases by making me feel dumb just for asking if I could use both cash and card. After encountering her horrible attitude I remembered her from my last visit a year ago (who would forget someone publicly cussing out a customer over the phone). Needless to say I won't be visiting again and will discourage anyone else to shop there. You would think they would fix the horrible customer service issue after all of these complaining yelp reviews over the same problem. No way to conduct a business. We were so excited to go to this shop but we arrived 20 minutes before closing and were told that they were closing at 4:00. We walked out. That is not good customer service. She could have said we close in 20 but take your time. I think they are there for the locals and not tourists. We went down the street to The Uptown Store and were welcomed warmly by the young girl at the front. Even though they closed in 15 minutes, she told us to take our time. Holy toledo, this place is ridiculously expensive! Kind of a bummer to see a shop selling machine washed and dried shrunken wool Abercrombie sweaters for $30+. And on the same rack as a MaxMara 100% cashmere for $36? Hmm. Everything was overpriced. There were a few things marked down and prices also get knocked 25% off after a month on the racks, but I've been to other consignment shops that have a tiered system where prices go down even further after more time. I prefer that system. For being waaaaaay out of the way in Minturn, I don't know how they get any traffic to sell anything in the store at those inflated prices. Don't come here looking for an ugly holiday sweater or a onesie ski suit for a party because you will drain your wallet on outdated yet pricey gear. I visited this store with my wife and some friends today and the woman behind the counter was extremely rude. We wanted to try on sunglasses, and it was evidently a huge inconvenience for her to open the case and hand us multiple pairs. My wife wanted to purchase a sweater which was dated 11/18/2014 and because it was January 17, the lady wouldn't give her the 50% discount for 60 day old items because she thought 2 months meant 60 days and it wouldn't technically be 2 months until the next day. The only problem....There's 31 days in December. So it HAD been 60 days. I challenged her on this and she snapped "it doesn't work that way". This a very dishonest way to run a business that prides itself on discount clothing. we usually love to support local businesses but we will NEVER go back here. I recommend you skip it of you're planning on being in the area. read more

Impressive lack of friendly service. I thought it was strange to drive 45 minutes to our (now previous) favorite consignment store in the central rockies only to walk in to a eye rolling lady behind the register. We understand you're business and your rules for acceptance of merchandise. Once a year we clean out our closets and separate the good from the "should I really give this up" and take the latter to pass along to some lucky shopper at a local consignment shop. We're local too. Back to the aggressive eye roller... our clothes were 'in trash bags' so she could 'already tell' she 'wouldn't be able to accept much of anything we brought in'!!! We're we supposed to pack our items in boxes and tie them with bows? Or perhaps we should have used our luggage... would that have made our items more appealing without looking at even one piece? It is really amazing to find such a rare gem! Someone who made it this far in life but seemingly has zero understanding of the most basic skill required within her chosen industry. Before writing this I took a peak at some of the other scathing 1-star reviews. Guess what??!! Almost all are (or seem to be) about this same person. Unreal. I could really keep going and probably should but I have decided to stop. Bottom line? Time to find some new and friendlier folks with a business to help support with our 'DESIGNER' items. Great 2nd hand store! Especially for men! My boyfriend and I walked in and found many brand new items with tags still on them, marked half price and then with an additional 50% off. Great find for him! As for me - they have nice jewelry and you can definitely find a few good items to add to your clothing collection. Some days are better than others. read more

We've been coming to Holy Toledo since they opened.. While the pricing seems a bit on the overvalued side lately.. the reason we gave 2 stars is the store clerk Heather with the hot pink hair... She's extremely rude and short... wish we could cut her some slack, but she's been bitchy every time we're in there. It's sad because the store owner is really nice.. Maybe she doesn't realize that her employee would rather make personal phone calls then help customers in the store. read more

This place has gone downhill. The clothes and the prices are still OK, but the non-Heather employee, the woman with medium brown straight hair who worked on Monday, January 25 2016 is about the worst person I have ever run into. She was rude to me multiple times from the moment we walked in, and I mean blatantly sarcastically rude, rude to my husband separately downstairs, rude to my mother-in-law who's about the sweetest person in the world, and she walked around muttering about how she hated her job. And then she said that flat out to my husband, I hate my job. Why? Quit, go away... Make the world better for everybody. read more

I just drive through Minturn and stop occasionally. Their clothing and shoes are all very nice, BUT not a friendly place. I do not know who was behind the counter , she had different colored hair, but I had to speak to her first and said hello. I tried on a shirt, and left it in the room as the sign said, and then she looked at me when I came out of the dressing room as if I had the shirt under my other shirt...... Very uncomfortable and did not feel welcomed at all!!!!! I travel thru every few months but the last few times it has not been a good experience because of the people that work there. I've scored some pretty great deals on designer clothes here. I've also sold a lot out of my closet and received some decent sized checks in exchange. Since it is a consignment store, you may not always find what you are looking for when you shop, however, the inventory is constantly changing. I've seen Prada dresses for $50 and designer jeans for $50 and under. read more

I love this store. Great selection of brand name clothing and accessories just around the corner from Vail in an adorably renovated church. I've shopped here for years and was surprised at the other reviews. As with any consignment shop the selection changes daily and a little extra time is required to dig out some great finds you didn't know you couldn't live without. Some of my favorite scores: a Kate Spade purse in primo condition that I paid maybe $20 for, a gorgeous retro full length cream wool coat with fur trimmed hood $45, Black suede UGG ankle boots that look like they were worn once $25. In general the prices are higher than a consignment shop on the front range, but the brands are better (Banana Republic to Gucci) and it's fitting for the area. Everything is more expensive in a ski town, but if you want a fantastic wardrobe for much less than the boutique shops this is your place. Plus, items reduce in price the longer they stay on the rack so if you wait it out, that BCBG dress will go down 25%, 50% or lower. The staff is friendly and can point you to the right rack if you're hunting for something in particular. I make a point of stopping in whenever I'm back in town. read more

My mother, daughter and I read a few nasty reviews of the customer service at this place, so hesitated to make the trip, but found them to be so wrong that I just had to write my own review. Both the owner and one of the employees are named Heather, and BOTH Heathers were so notably friendly and helpful that we stayed far longer and bought more than we originally planned to -- and are very happy we did. We come to CO every winter, and an annual pilgrimage to Holy Toledo is now on the list. (Plus, Minturn itself is pretty adorable and worth a stop.) read more

this place is over priced you can find a shirt here that you can find at target for 10 dollar they have it priced at 20 dollars. Be a smart shopper and do you research. I bought 2 things here only because I had to since I already spent so much time and needed something for that night. People were friendly, I only have a one star for the simple fact that they are trying to get over on uneducated buyers. look the clothes up on Google read the tag and search where they sell that shirt and how much they sell band new for. if not you'll have a used Wal-Mart shirt for 30 dollars. if there isn't a tag then pass it up unless it's a must have. good luck read more

My favorite place to shop in the valley (there aren't many!) As with any consignment store sometimes you'll won't find anything, but I've referred several visitors here and they've been surprised at the great designer brands at great prices. Pretty much the only place for a city girl to shop in small town CO that's not all polar fleece and yoga wear. Umm, this place is SOOOO overrated. I send a couple choice pieces of clothing here every year, and yes, they are worn and things that I can DEFINITELY live without. But its not really what's in the store, which is equally unimpressive... It's one of the employees, the bleach blonde older lady. She is just sooo rude that she makes you feel like she is doing you a favor by taking in your old clothing. C'mon lady. You sell USED Forever 21 and Gap here, just because I have a couple of banana republic sweaters mixed in with designer jeans and old purses, doesn't mean that you have to get out the microscope and tell me everything that's wrong with what I am giving to you. I have a love-dislike relationship with this store. I think it's great overall and generally I have a good experience and come out with some pretty good deals. Especially with mark downs. However, I have consigned there and due to not living in the area they have made exceptions for those of us in the past to bring our stuff on weekends, if we call in advance. So I called in advance and the girl was totally rude about it and even had the audacity to tell me I needed to call in advance. Was I not on the phone with you calling in advance? Seriously?!?!? I would have even been happy to leave my items there for a week so they could look them over at their convenient M-TH and pick up whatever they didn't want the following weekend. The conversation didn't get that far as I was fairly offended. Instead, I took my items to another shop near by who were happy to take them any day. My sister has always spoken highly of "this cute little consignment store" in Minturn that she liked to shop at while commuting from Denver to Vail so while with her, we stopped and shopped. I found a really cute top that was on clearance, paid only $5.85 in cash but when I got in the car, I realized that it has several tears. The applique had pulled away from the fabric. We heard the sales clerk tell someone on the phone that she was closing in a few minutes but to knock on the door, she would still be there. We went back, knocked on the door at 4:05 and no answer. Two others were also at the door, looking to talk to her. My sister stopped by again while on her commute and spoke to the owner. At first she was apologetic for selling a top in such condition but when she scanned it into the register, it appeared that the same sales clerk who was standing there had not entered the sale through the cash register. After repeating again and again that the shirt was never paid for she finally said "fuck, I'm paying you but this shirt was never paid for" and gave my sister the $5.85. Really? How is it that it was returned the a bag that they use. It's interesting that the sales clerk was counting out the registered when we entered the store. Maybe she didn't want to re-count it all for $5.85? And funny thing, when I got in the car, there was no receipt? Maybe the owner should be looking in her sales clerk's pocket for the $5.85 in cash. That would sure be an easy scam to pocket all cash sales and never run it through the register. Either way, we won't ever return to this store!! All over $5.85. Way to run a business - NOT read more

We have nearly 5000 consignors from across the US, anywhere from locals in Vail (most of whom are from all over the US and world), second home-owners, reps who consign full sample lines (Volcom, Powderhorn, Helly Hansen, Smith, Ojai, Descente, just to name a few), and boutiques out of Vail, Aspen, Denver, Chicago who consign as well. I have had the same crew of girls working for me for as long as 8 years and the newest started 4 years ago! I have lived in the Vail Valley for over 24 years and have many long term business contacts, friends and acquaintances thus it's important to keep up strong relations, especially in a small business in a small Valley. I realize we cannot please all of the people all of the time and it seems I have 2 bad reviews regarding ONE EMPLOYEE WHO NO LONGER WORKS HERE, so I apologize to anyone who may have had a bad experience. Please come see us again....we know you'll have a great time and find some real treasures! We don't take a lot of mainstream items due to the volume from which we have to choose....so no Gap, Old Navy, Express, Limited, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. It's not that we don't like those labels, but shoppers want a find that they can't get anywhere else! read more
