The girls also have better bathrooms than the boys do. The girls get mirrors but the boys get no mirrors and the soap is outside of the bathroom which is very disfunctional. The boys locker room is very wild and I always have to worry about getting my stuff stolen or getting into an altercation. The weight room is not bad but not good. the dumbbell handles are dirty and covered in dead skin. Some of the barbells are brown and rusty. The weight room is also very tiny. I would be walking past a guy doing squats and be hit in the elbow with their barbell. The area outside of the weight room is used for other workouts because of how tiny the space is.

My son has been attending Little Pebbles since he was 2 1/2 years old. Next year he will go on to the Pre-K program. All of the teachers here are gentle, loving individuals. The values and teachings are consistent with the most important highlights of the Bible. My child has learned countless age appropriate stories and songs and has completed many crafts that relate to Christianity. I can only hope, that my words express what a fantastic environment they supply each day for my child. I have already signed up my youngest son to start attending when he is 30 months. The prekindergarten - third grade teachers were remarkable, exhibiting Christ-like qualities. The education she received through the third grade was stellar, through and after COVID. These teachers really cared about the social-emotional and educational needs of the students that were entrusted to their care. Even when my son said it was time to change schools I stubbornly held on. But fourth grade confirmed that it was indeed time to move on. During the first week of after-school band practice my granddaughter's instrument was taken and damaged by a student in the upper grades. I spoke to the principal Mr. Venticinque, and after watching a video of the lunchroom my granddaughter's statement was confirmed. I wish this was the only incident that took place during the fourth grade. Unfortunately, it was not. She was sitting next to a new student who stole her school supplies. The teacher said she was unaware of the incident, but the new student confirmed that she stole the supplies because she didn't have any. I still do not understand how a teacher cannot monitor a class when there are only fourteen students in the class. My granddaughter actually prayed to get the fourth grade teacher she wanted. And, unfortunately she received the teacher she prayed for. This turned out to be the reason we would leave OLS. This teacher yelled and humiliated students all year. Every day my granddaughter would come home with a different story. Even though the teacher's anger wasn't directed at my granddaughter, children shouldn't be subject to this behavior from adults. She would yell at students if they didn't wear the correct color for Dollar Dress Down Day. I couldn't understand why her anger was directed at the children when parents make the decision as to what their child will wear to school. My granddaughter came out of school very upset after sitting for a test that she studied hard for. This fourth grade teacher took points off her test because she said my granddaughter was talking. I approached the teacher and told her that my grandchild was telling a student to stop cheating off her paper. The teacher asked why my granddaughter didn't tell her. I told her that she was scared of her. She looked shocked and said she would speak to her. That conversation never took place. After this I didn't approach the teacher with my concerns for fear of retaliation against my granddaughter. When the school year was coming to an end we decided this was not the school environment my grandchild should be in. I approached the principal with our concerns regarding this teacher. He responded by saying no other parents had mentioned this to him. He also stated that this fourth grade teacher never yelled. I knew that both of these statements were not true. I told him that her parents would make the decision as to whether she would stay at OLS. My son emailed the principal, Mr. Venticinque and requested a day and time to meet with him. He didn't respond to the email until mid summer. I was a faithful volunteer at OLS for four years. I actually thought this would make a difference in how my grandchild was treated. Unfortunately, it did not. The behavior of the fourth grade teacher, delayed responses from the principal and high teacher turnover are just a few of the reasons why I would not recommend this school.

I received a wonderful education that prepared me greatly for high school, and it was very obvious in high school that I and others that attended this school were much more prepared than students from other schools. We learned discipline and respect for one another. With that said, my review is CURRENT! My daughter has been attending OLV (as we call it) this past year for their full day prek program. She absolutely loves it and it has been so good for her- not only socially (Never went to day care), but academically and spiritually. She is excelling at her letters and numbers (which since she wasn't in daycare I thought she might be behind). They learn about God and religion at the same time which I could not be happier. The kids are all very respectful. It's a nice small school with a community feel to it and everyone knows everyone. If My daughter is having a bad day, I can tell the office manager and she says she'll check up on her. You don't get that in a public school. And we actually live two blocks away from a public school but I felt it was too large and she would get lost in it. I don't regret my decision at all and as hard as it will be financially, we plan to keep her there till the end with 8th grade. Also want to mention their after school program is awesome. So flexible. I work from home so sometimes I can pick her up and sometimes I can't. I can call the school on the fly and put her in the after school program that day and I pay as I use it! A lot of other schools make you pay for set days with a monthly fee whether you use it or not. So please please don't go by reviews from eons ago and feel free to contact me if you want to talk about the school further!
