Queens Pride event on 6/2/24 was decent, but I'm still thinking about how the bouncer said there was $10 cover and magnanimously offered to let five people in for the price of three. The flier said nothing about cover and NYC gays from my generation don't pay cover, so a bar charging cover on Pride is basically saying not to come in because they're full and/or about to close. When we said we were leaving, he waved us in without any cover. Was this some kind of attempted grift? I've said before that venues need to not even let people like this into the bar, much less work there. read more

Hombres had my first experience tonight. My date and I had so much fun dancing and enjoying the atmosphere. The music was good, the drinks were great, the bar tenders were absolutely respectable and performed their job very well with as busy as it was! Through the night, everyone's attitude was wonderful, the facility was very clean. We were in the club about 3 hours, enjoyed 5 drinks each, etc. My only issue was Andreas,(older gentleman who was the manager said his name) a employee during late shift change, had a eyeball on me and my date since he started his shift, and I notice everything. Some friends we met at the bar, went to the bar counter from their/our table for drinks. As I put my arm down on the table, to take a break from dancing, Andreas comes behind and pushes my arm off the table and sets drinks down for three females. He then proceeds to drinks something with them and I immediately pull him over and remind him, "I just spent a lot of money here, was respectful to all the staff, helped clean up some dangerous glass on the floor so no one got injured, and you just pushed me off a table I was at for your girlfriends. I will not come back here ever again if you are here since you feel like you can disrespect a guest." He looked at me and smiled and said "okay". That's all I needed. To the owners, get rid of him. I highly recommend it as he put his hands on me and forcefully pushed me off a table instead of being a proper employee and informing me some ladies were waiting for a table and I would've gratefully given the ladies the table. I will be in again next Saturday, if Andreas is in the building, we will take our money elsewhere and continue to do so every weekend we are out! read more

Hombres Lounge has Happy Hour between 5-10 Monday-Thursday. The bartenders and waiters and and all the help are papi chulos y lindo y guapo The employees are all very handsome !! Especially on Friday and Saturday nights they have the best DJ's and the place is smokin. Not from the fog machine but from the hot men. THEY REFILL BOTTLES HERE. Watch out!!! We ordered two shots of fireball and got served something out of a fireball bottle that wasn't fireball. So after we took the first shot I said to my friend that didn't taste right and he agreed so we told the bartender and he showed us the bottle. So after, I told a different bartender which turned out to be the owner, he poured out two more shots in front of us from that same bottle and tasted it and said this isn't fireball and proceeded to pour out the entire thing in a sink under the bar right in front of us. After all was said and done, he wanted us to pay an absurd bar tab that had drinks on it that we didn't order plus these shots of god knows what, roofies?!! The owner got loud with me and in my face when I told him I wasn't paying. MARRYING BOTTLES IS ILLEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES! Also, neither of the locks in the stalls (for women) work in the basement bathroom. The bolt was taken out of both of them so the lock just spins. SKETCHY. Horrible establishment and horrible service. This place deserves to be shut down. I would give it no stars if I could. read more

I've been a customer of hombers for the past 10 years. I admit to being wasted and having a good time, but I was very surprised when I wanted to go in this evening and was shunded by the management and not allowed in. Nothing great and nothing horrible to say. I went on a Wednesday afernoon for happy hour thinking it was karaoke happy hour but it wasn't. Of course that's my own fault, nothing on them at all. I was debating on wether to give 3 or 4 stars but the ambiance of this place saved it. Decor is very well done and very appropriate lit. Bathrooms are clean, bar is clean. I just wish the spirits were a better selection. But like whatever. I need to see this place packed and lit because I'm sure it's a blast. read more

It's A-OK to shake your "booti" First some good advice: you definitely have to come here after midnight to have fun, because that is when the party gets started. The establishment can be a little tight because you are jammed in there like a can of sardines on a weekend . . . but it is so worth it. The clientele is pretty mixed - men, women, and everything in between with all body types (obviously the majority of folks there will be latino). The music is pretty good and it is one of the few places that plays latin music. The drinks are moderately priced (7-10 bucks, depending on what you order) and most of the bartenders are very nice and friendly . . . unlike another place in the area that will go nameless. However, I will suggest that you get your drink on before getting to the bar and save some money because the drinks can be a little watered down. If you do not feel like pushing your way through the crowd to buy a drink, the bar has table (or rather dance floor) service. This is a great place to go to start or finish your night. read more

I came to this place because I heard it was nice. After being here I noticed the bartenders charge different prices. I will never visit this place again. If a manager can reach out it will help. I can honestly say I am disappointed. One moment I was charged 6 per drink. Then it was 10. Then 6 again. I have the power to report this behavior from bartenders after not making good tips. Out of the spots we have left in jackson heights Hombres has become the most poppular of them all. I have no idea how I can read these reviews & them see the lines outside when I go. If the place was that bad it would be empty like atlantis, lucho's, musicbox..and even friends @ times.. please I know a lot of us know the owners of the other places, but don't just write shit so that the place can get a bad rap. I came here since it was my friends friend bday. I'm not sure how the other nights are but I went on a Friday night and they had an 80s theme going, a drag queen show and two male strippers at the bar. The night was very entertaining and the drinks were cheap. read more

My partner and I had a great time as local tourists from PA. The staff was super friendly, apologetic about the fact that they have to close early because of COVID (not their fault). And we met so many nice local men and women! We met a few tourists like us also. Everyone was super chill! No attitude, which sometimes we have a hard time with in Manhattan. Queens is different, IMHO. No cover. And drink prices were average. And I'm sure this bar like many is struggling to stay alive, so we were happy to pay $10-12 per drink. As a girl, I get it I'm not the target customer for gay bars/clubs. But I do appreciate when I do go to one and I'm not greeted with the "vagina look" upon arrival. The "vagina look" is when a girl (straight or otherwise) is given a disapproving/disgusted/pissed off glare simply because she is a girl invading on man territory. I never get the vagina look at Hombres! The place is small but its always packed. The music is great, a mix of everything even some salsa, reggaeton, and bachata since 80% of the patrons are Hispanic. Drinks are good, not watered down and fairly priced. I've always had a great time at Hombres, been there several times. A little small so it can get very crowded and hot but a lil sweat never killed nobody. I have been here 5 or 6 times and I must say it is pretty good. It is really a narrow space so unless you are claustrophobic when it gets packed you will be ok. Staff is friendly but I am a regular in this hood so maybe others have a different experience. Don't order exotic drinks as the staff has a problem making them. Loved the fact that my Grindr found people here within 40 and 60 feed away. Now that was awesome but it does say something about the other bars (Friends, Music Box) where you get no hits. Hombres lounge has been a staple in the Jackson heights neighborhood for many years now. It has its hit or miss nights just like any other local bar , perhaps I happen to walk in on one of their definitely Missed nights . After hitting up the other local spots that are known to be a little more alive on a Thursday night , they too were dead so we decided to go back to hombres since its right around the corner from my apartment . We walked in to what appeared to be a contest for "mrs tequilazzo". Don't know what that title means or what one obtains with such honor but it must be something really big because everyone surrounded the packed stage listening to an old drag queen , read contestant scores , crack a couple of bad jokes , shut people up because she was talking and running the show. Silly if you ask me . So for those us who don't follow or partake in such hobbies we were really turned off . No music , no dancing, no good vibes . Just cheers and chants from the crowd. Just when you think it doesn't get worst ,the time that they do have to play music , they choose to play the saddest, most depressing music one would want to hear at home alone with a glass boxed wine and and old cat . Who ever there dj is he must be fired immediately because of His lack of judgment and Bad,bad song selection I can only imagine the amount of money this bar lost by hosting these silly shenanigans . Not only are people walking out but those that are there aren't spending money. Blah to top it off the restroom are a complete disgust, no soap , no hand towel, no hand dryer and filthy toilet paper everywhere SO GROSS. I LOVE THIS PLACE!! As I read earlier in the previous review, the "vagina look" when I came the first time here I never got a bad look. Since then I am always welcomed! I love this place. Monday happy hour with Lusito is to die for! He is such a great bartender and always so sweet! As well as the other bartenders. When it comes to parties they know how to go hard. I love the dancers. I love the drags that would show up. Its an amazing place. Very chill and mellow. I tend to come with my friends here as possible. We tend to enjoy the happy hour here though. This is a modern space with the typical Jackson heights layout (long bar on the left, dance floor in the back). There are outlets and USB outlets along the bar to charge your devices. Out of all of the gay bars in Jackson Heights (which I've only recently discovered was an enclave for the Gays) Hombre's lounge had by far the best atmosphere and friendliest staff. It's quite a small space but wasn't packed at all on a Thursday night. It's a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth checking out. Horrible the most shady scary and traumatizing experience of my life I was drugged. I have frequented this place in the past until two weeks ago I went on a Saturday I don't recall half the night. I am thankful that I woke up in my bed 14 hours later and immediately went to the hospital for what I soon found out was a detox of Rohypnol (roofies) found in my blood test. Someone had roofied me. I don't know if it was the bartender or the old man who was talking to me and offering me drinks (that I refused) but it happened and I'm writing this review so that anyone who is ever thinking of going to this awful hell hole thinks twice! It was pretty quiet when we got there, granted it was super early. Place definitely has potential to be a good time. There were 2 other guys at the bar and were super friendly. Bar tender was nice and the drinks were cheap. A red bull and vodka and a beer cost me $10 total. Would go back when the place livens up...which is I am sure is way after 10pm. read more

Nice place and nice waiters, but who ever hires the dancers must be blind. The music is great 2nd time there, not sure if I will go back now that they have hookah. Waiters stay with people they know or the regulars, so you have to be chasing a waiter or go to the bar. read more
