We were locked down first out of ALL the developments in the area and while the others have opened as has the CITY of Fort Myers, GL homes has refused to budge. They finally hung the hoop up and opened the pool recently. YET, NO gym, even with limited numbers. Singles only for tennis or pickle ball which is very hard considering the ages of the owners. NO gym even though CITY of Ft. Myers has been open for 2 weeks. You sign a packet 6 inches thick when you buy with them and they are tyrants. The homes are nice but the community isn't worth the headache. We will most like sell and move to Corkscrew Shores. Much nicer amenities and not run by a bunch of power hungry over paid staff with a taste for treating adults like children. We have received little to no feed back. We are to sit and wait until the big wigs meet and tell us if we can use the facilities we are paying top dollar for. Very frustrating to say the least. Should anything like this happen again a GL community is not where you want to being living.

On the second day, we were informed that the elevator was broken and they didn't know when it would be fixed, which is an ADA violation. Then they told us it was fixed and safe to use, only to then reveal (after we and others had been using it) that it wasn't actually fixed and could "stop at any time". Our rooms were on the third floor and they didn't not offer us a room on the first floor until we brought up the fact that it is incredibly dangerous for me to be using stairs (and also an ADA violation), and when they did, it was only for me so I was separated from my family which is dangerous if I fell. My family had to help me down 3 flights of stairs, which was incredibly stressful. We received no empathy from staff. It is illegal to not provide safe exit routes for ALL tenants. The fact that we had to tell them that in order for them to begrudgingly offer us a room on the first floor is ridiculous and disappointing. The incompetent support team was very dismissive and disrespectful to my granddaughter. They even suggested that she sign a waiver saying that SHE would be personally responsible if anyone was trapped or injured in the elevator. That would not hold up in any court and is an absolutely despicable thing to suggest. They acted like I was an inconvenience. It put a huge damper on what should have been a lovely family vacation. Aside from the very illegal waiver they asked us to sign, undignified disrespect and general incompetence (their customer service is outsourced and does not communicate with hotel staff), they locked us out of our rooms before check-out time and didn't offer any kind of compensation for their carelessness. They also gave us a whole list of chores to complete before leaving which wasn't explained to us upon arrival. Their site should be more transparent about them expecting tenants to perform their own housekeeping. If you are elderly, disabled, or simply want to be treated kindly, please avoid this place. 0/100

I will say it's a bit pricey, but it was Memorial weekend and you are literally on the water. Not sure what the off season rates are but there's a 3 night minimum. The condos are fully furnished and equipped with all your needs. They even had beach chairs, beach towels and coolers available. The bathrooms were a bit grungy and outdated. But overall the condos are kept pretty clean. We had unit 3D3 and it was super spacious. Parking was right out front. There are several local markets in the area to stock up on food,albeit a bit pricey. I recommend you stop at publix before entering island. If ever in Sanibel again, I will definitely book my stay here.

All of the neighbors are friendly. I really cannot think of anything bad about it. We did move down from the north east so that may make us a bit more amazed. We have one of the largest floor plans they offer and it costs less than what we were paying up north of a 2 bed 1 bath with no amenities! Anyone thinking of moving down from the north this is your place, you will not be disappointed. I have seen some negative reviews but I suppose you can't please everyone and no matter where you live there could always be something to complain about. For example I wish we had a full bench press set up in the gym here which is a bit small but I love the gym anyway. It has everything I need and I no longer have to pay a membership, can't beat that. For a small gym though it is rather good. I have to mention the walking path around the lake. After a long work day it is so nice to walk around the lake. You will see baby ducks, yes baby ducks, cutest things ever a long with turtles and sometimes you can spot fish jumping from the lake. Walking around the lake and maybe stopping at the pool or hot tub is the perfect end to a day. As others mentioned we did see some ants when we first moved in. The exterminator came twice and I bought some traps and since then no ant issues. This place is a dream come true for us and like someone else said this place is like paradise, really.

Caper Beach Club  Unit C311…read more Dear Owners of C311, Your condo is spacious, comfortable, clean, functional, and lovely.  We regret staying at The Caper Beach Club 3/22-3/29/25.  According to Diana (front desk employee) my family and I are, 'bad customers'. We're bad customers because our 5 & 6 year old boys were playing basketball with a floating toy we brought from home. See picture. Diana told us that the toy violated a pool rule, but suggested our children and their new friends should play with that toy on the small grass area next to the standing water and service street. (By the way, it's gross to walk around standing water to enter/exit the pool area.) Here are the pool rules that are most challenging for families: -No inflatables -No flotations -No ball playing Seriously, at a pool?? What if your kid can't swim? Who wrote and approved these? The same people who collect 20% of all rental income for the building? Yep, those grumpy anti-kid patrol curmudgeons who complain to the front desk. They're unliked by the rest of the property owners, and obviously us renters who selected this location because it seemed like a good place for families. On 3/27 the whole building was displaced due to no electricity and no water. Unbelievable. They hung these notes on our doors. We understand that sometimes unfortunate things can occur. When we asked Diana about compensation, or discounted options for us to have lunch, etc. they told us they were not responsible and would doing anything for renters.  Diana told us we could use the pool during that time- BUT the condo owners we met at the pool told us the pool's electric filtration system will not work and to stay out of the pool. (The same outage situation occurred a just before our arrival.) Thanks to the folks at Pink Shell for giving my family a discounted rate for a day pass. We appreciate the Fort Myers Beach hospitality.  We support Fort Myers Beach. We were excited to visit again after a couple of missed years. Our favorite places are Bay to Beach, Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise, Nervous Nellie's, Junkaroo on the Beach and so many more.  We'll be back to Fort Myers Beach, but will not stay at Caper Beach Club again.
