My two grade age children attended since February 2026, & I kid you not EVERY single time I dropped off or picked up, I was held for 20 to 30 minutes being informed about an individual & her personal business was ran down to me from top to bottom. First thing walking in a facility I do not want to hear about another woman/families personal situation. Confidentiality is nonexistent in her business. Second, whenever licensing was being called on her, she would prompt the current families by giving them a heads up, letting them know licensing might call them, not only was she prompting for "licensing calls" she would ask people to leave her a review, I never understood why she was adamant about getting a review in the middle of the day. Weird. Most people leave reviews when they feel the business is deemed a review. Her dog resides in the kitchen where meals are being prepared. It was her business so I never questioned her but it's something that never sat well with me. It is gross, and the kitchen was barely cleaned. On August 27, 2026 I woke up to a text message stating she could never keep my kids overnight again. But she failed to tell me that she had a 12-year-old boy sleeping in the room with my 10-year-old daughter. After multiple times of telling my daughter, "you are acting like a bitch" and telling my eight year-old autistic son "you are an asshole" I should've known she did not value simple morals, such as separating young boys and young girls. Whenever you bring concerns to her, she deflects and will terminate you. To me that is a bribery tool "I can treat your children how I want to because this is my place of business". If you have any concerns as a parent, regarding how she handles children it's safe to say you will not have service services. Keep in mind this is not hearsay. I've slickly asked her about name-calling and she does admit it. She cannot take constructive criticism. If a child is crying, she gets in their face and instigates their emotions. She makes a lot of side remarks about murder. " If your kids keep acting like that, they're either gonna be dead or in jail" What daycare provider besides a screwed up one find that type of language appropriate? So please inquire at your own risk.

They know her inside and out, and I have never doubted her safety or care, which as a mom, you definitely want to make sure of. Each day is engaging and full of learning, starting all the way from infant one. I'm so thankful that tuition includes diapers and food. It's one less thing on my mental load. Specifically Lily, Erin, and Emily have been key in my daughter's growth and I am so thankful.

Some of them have even gone on to be employed in the same school district, meaning their impact on this community continues to grow and shine. They offer lots of extracurricular programs to make sure that school is fun and exciting, there's something new every season. I love that the children at this center are from various races, backgrounds and socioeconomical situations. I think that it is very important for my child to experience diversity (which cannot be found in my neighborhood). They do a great job of keeping me updated on issues that impact my child's development and interaction with others. It offers daycare, preschool and grades kindergarten to eighth. There are about 100 children in K-8. One classroom per grade! It feels like a family. The teachers are kind and caring. No child feels overlooked or left out. The tuition is VERY reasonable and scholarships are available. Besides core classes the students take Spanish, Bible, computers, gym, art and music. Each day begins with prayer. Every Friday the students attend chapel. New construction and expansion is planned this year (2016) as the church adds infant care to its day care services. This will also being improvements to the school such as the addition of a band room as well as locker rooms off the gym. Recently the school's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Brenda Heintz, was featured on a Grand Rapids TV news broadcast. She won the WGVU Cool Teacher Award. All children are welcome, no matter their background or behavior. As an employee, I feel like I belong here. I'm supported by the administration and they reach out to check on all of us. We do our best to be like a family here. We have monthly training nights and occasional professional development workshops to support the teachers in being the best they can be. I was supported while being pregnant and on maternity leave. As a parent, my child has learned so much here. He loves his friends and teachers, and I'm not sure where we would be without SaSLS! My son loves to come to school every day. He learns something new every day. I trust that he is safe, fed, and engaged in meaningful activities. The staff truly do care for every child in their care and treat them as their own! I also feel supported as a parent, and there's great teamwork built between caregivers and families. I strongly believe that my child's development and growth have been benefited by being at SaSLS.
