We had them come for an insulation installation quote. After a 3 hour visit, our sales person still was waiting for our quote to download. (???) It's been over a week and we're still waiting for the quote. There is a slim to zero chance that we'll use them. They had a text bot contact me to follow up, not a person, so sad. On the good side the roof replacement and attic insulation was great . On the bad side the service stinks. Everyone is calling you for absolutely stupid stuff and the financing also stinks . How about financing an elderly woman at 12.99% for 20 years for a $6000.00 loan. That is a total disgrace for an elderly woman. Don't forget great work and a disgraceful management. They finance with a place called Good Leap. They are a big disgrace as far as I am concerned , also. read more

I canceled my appointment before the scheduled visit. Despite the cancellation, the representative still came to my home and asked if he could take pictures of the area. Trying to be courteous, I briefly allowed him to take a few pictures and then explained that the appointment had been canceled and asked him to leave. Instead of leaving, he continued taking pictures, walked around the house, and brought out a ladder to access higher areas without my permission. When I asked him a second time to stop accessing my property and leave, he continued discussing the company's products and services and repeatedly tried to schedule another appointment. When I explained that I needed to leave to pick up a family member, he asked where I was going and whom I was picking up. I felt those questions were unrelated to the appointment and made me uncomfortable. I have never had a similar experience with any other company. Based on this interaction, I chose not to move forward with their services. read more

The "estimator" showed up on time then took forever after a long drawn out process of explaining the entire company along with a personal history I didn't need to give me an estimate more than twice as costly as other companies. The person seemed generally unable to get to the point and once he did insisted I make up my mind immediately. I finally got free by telling him the quote was way too high, and no thank you. Then I got phone calls and texts even when I had clearly said no. It was borderline harassment. I would not ask them for an estimate or if you do make it clear you want a number not a long lecture and a lot of pressure. read more

Brookhaven, PA I'm going to make this really easy for you. Just read. As of 01/19/2026 Home Genius Exteriors Siding Job Complaints. - Salesman (first red flag) came out and showed us a bunch of different moisture spots, saying that 9% is bad - realistically, 20% + is actually bad, 9% is pretty normal. - We were told that the job would start with full teardown, then covering and insulation. When we saw siding on one side going up when the rest of the house was not touched we were very confused. We were told that there was 2-3 more laborers coming to take part in the process. We have not seen them. - Initial siding was removed on right - Driveway side of house - Found a spot of rotted plywood in need of replacement - Job allotted 4 sheets of plywood. Initially told workers I wanted that piece of wood replaced. When I found out it wasn't replaced, I had to call the project manager to have the insulation and wrap removed to have the rotted wood replaced. - Workers removed siding off the rest of the house. The PECO meter box was removed from the side house and now my house has little to no power in multiple rooms. The heat does not work. My family had to spend the night somewhere else. Electrician came and repaired the cable from the meter to the panel but electrician said my panel needed to be replaced. Which I've never had an issue with the panel until now. - Front porch light was working for the entirety of the job until the ending metal work and trim work was completed. Now the front porch light and doorbell camera do not work. I tried changing the bulb and that did not work. - In the kitchen, the exterior walls were shaken so hard that two "subway tiles" on my backsplash were shaken off the wall. the 3" quarts backsplash riser had some loose the entire length of the affected wall. The grout around the tiles is cracking and separating. - I was asked if i wanted a different light put on the rear entry door of the house. I have a light that I would have liked installed. I gave the parts to the project manager and ultimately they were not installed. - The amount of inconvenience this company has caused us with this job is absurd. We are spending upwards of $30,000.00 for a pretty house at the cost of a ton of issues. - Metal scrap and trash found all around my house. Driveway, porch, front lawn, back yard, opposite side of house. Blue tap-con screw found in driveway. Overall moderately poor cleanliness and pickup after a work day. Now there was snow during this project but the pieces i found were not covered by snow but laying on top. - Was told that crew would be out to finish up metal/flashing work on Saturday 1/31/2026 between 3-4PM EST - The crew did not show up. I told the project manager about this issue and I never got anything back about it. - Guest bedroom exterior wall was hit so hard that the spackle screw caps were blown off the wall. - Caulking, seals, and molding around the houses windows are cracked in the sense that they're separating from the original seal. - Dirty rag, hand warmer, bottle cap left on my property. - Walkway lights knocked over and left. - Oil spots in my driveway from their van leaking oil. Note - None of my vehicles that I own or lease leak oil. - Stray green wrap thread left hanging off the front bay window. Update as of 02/08/2026 - Was told house would be sealed, I see gaps all over the place - Found more screws, nails, and scraps left on property, as well as scrap wood from repairs. - Siding on my driveway side, rear of roof peak, is coming off the house. - More stray underlayment threads and parts protruding from the house. - Large gaps that water will get into and freeze in winter or soak in warmer months causing mold and rot. - Cracks found in installed siding in multiple spots. - Gaps found in window framing form roughness of installation. - Protruding underlayment sealed into place with final sealant. - Siding on the right side(facing the house) is waving - The Salesperson told us in person that waving siding is bad. This means incorrect installation of siding. - Rear portion of house(farthest rear side of addition) outlet capping is too far away from house and not sealed from elements, allowing water intrusion. - Electrician appointment made for Saturday 02/07/2026 was not followed through with. The electrician did not show up and the project manager cancelled his stop here, moving it to Monday, 02/09/2026 @ 5:15 PM EST. - My wife and I were told by the sales person that our old siding was chalking. This is a byproduct of aluminum and vinyl siding from UV exposure and aging. We were told that meant the siding was bad due to that, which is incorrect. That doesn't mean that the siding is bad, it means that the siding is aging. - The only way I am able to get in contact with anybody, about any sort of matter, is if I myself reach out personally. I have gotten no updates from anybody about this entire project, except for material/dumpster drop off, and start date. read more

First I have to say, I have spent almost two days upset and deciding weather to leave this review. I hate when people leave reviews and its things that make company look bad when in reality just not the customer understanding or being unrealistic. However, I have read other reviews and I am very much in line and happy that we did not do business with them. I come from a long line of builders, contractors, carpenters. I work side by side with my father since I was able to hold a rake, clean up, later carring block and shingles and graduating to actually doing physical building and finishes. I can say with proof that I have build more then 50 homes from the ground up, I have put roofs on more then 100 homes and I have set more tile then anyone person should be allowed to do. That just a scratch of my knowledge base. So I went into the appointment knowing exactly how much it should cost to do the siding (which what the estimate I requested was for). ​I already priced out materials to do the job myself. However, I work in a different field then my family now and my current position leaves me with little to no time to do the work myself. Hence calling to have a professional do it. They scheduled appointment from 6-8 which is long for an estimate for siding. Second through talking i mentioned we would be doing the roof. So let's roll that estimate in too..well this is where things got fun. I was told so many lies that made me sick to my stomach..my husband literally was ready to blow a casket. They ended up staying 6-9 where we hadn't eaten dinner my husband wakes up at 5 a.m. and needed to get ready for bed. He works as a mechanic for construction company. Lies they told me. Shingles on house we upside down, (first what kinda idiot D.I.Y. or not puts shingles upside down). I laughed they thought was me agreeing with there statement..I almost kicked them out right then, but was entertained. Second my rafter are ambering and I have broken rafters, (yes I have a couple cracked rafters and yes there is ambering, yes it is a heat issue and vent problem. But the sales guy says, "Call Your Roofing Guy Now! Your roof is going to come in how hasn't already idk" my husband and I looked at each other in panic. He showed us the issues. 3 of 20 rafters are cracked..knot wholes really..but nothing sister them wont fix..and nothing that is alarming at calling a roofer at 8 p.m. at night. So high pressure tactic to say the least. No they showed me images of Water damage. Dark coloring of the wood in the attic. "Wood is a sponge and all this wood is wet from moisture, why so dark" if he noticed all the wood in my garage was same color. It has a oil based pest control sealant. So even dry wood looks wet. I could keep going but then we get to numbers. For the initial number he quoted $120,000 . I almost spat my coffee out. Granted it was higher end products we were pricing. But $120,000. O.k. so I have 1600 sq feet of siding needed. I have 920sq foot ranch single story home with a single car garage. My roof is 1258 feet. The estimate for siding was $42, 000 the roof $78,000. He saw it was not happy with those number put in manager codes and got down to $87,000. Then said let me go out to truck and call my manager you need this so let me see what else I can do. I already no its bullshit and I wont pay more then then $40,000 for both the roof and siding. Do it myself at that point. So he and his shadow leave and come back 12 minutes later and he tells me he was able take off all commissions because it is so urgent to fix the roof and he would feel guilty leaving my home and not doing everything in his power to help. Last qoute, $60,000. But have to agree and sign before they leave or no deal. I said no deal. How do you reduce by 50%percent and still be too high. Greed and high pressure sales and preying on people that dont know any better. ​Not once did I get to see actual breakdown of cost. That what an estimate should be. Not random numbers without reason or proof. If you do business with them, you are paying too much and gonna be a victim. Scam artists. read more

Crew came out and replaced my gutters. They were done in one day and cleaned up well after the job was completed.

total waste of time. spent 1.5 hr with estimator .He can't even multiply. said 12x20 roof is 450 sf NOT and then after wasting my time told me job was too small for them unless they did other work. this is NOT a roofer but home improvement company looking for any kind of work look elsewhere read more

Home Genius does not follow through. We cancelled the job. The night before they were to come we had 4 different people call us. We told them we cancelled. The lady said we will be there tomorrow, I said no you won't, she repeated three times they will be there to do the job. My husband finally told her we cancelled. We were expecting snow, the Sales person said I checked the weather we will be here on Monday. They put a dumpster in our driveway, all of the roof materials in our front yard. (We have the pics.) We had a storm Sunday 5- 6 inches on our roof. On Monday the sales person said we can blow the snow off your roof and do the job, again I said we cancelled. Where were they going to blow the snow plus all of their material is now covered in snow? I called Tuesday as nothing has still been removed. I spoke with a lady, at 4:15pm. , I won't mention the name, explained the situation, she stated the dumpster and materials had to be removed within 48 hrs. It is now over that time. She stated that the dumpster would be removed by 10am the next day, the girl in charge does a great job, if it is not call me tomorrow. It was not picked up. I called again, we got disconnected. The reason I am upset. I am partially disabled, I walk with a cane and use a wheel chair. We cannot get in our driveway due to the dumpster, we have to find street parking until it is moved. It is icy and I do not want to fall or have an accident. Very unorganized Company. read more

After we wrote our initial review, our project manager Ty reached out to us to address our concerns. We very much appreciated the efforts made to improve the situation, and, as such, we have edited our review from an initial rating of 2 to a rating of 4. While I don't know if we would use HGE again in the future, it is clear that they want their customers to have a positive experience, and are willing to work to correct issues you may have, which is more than can be said for many other contractors. HGE certainly wasn't the cheapest quote we received for our roof replacement, but we went with them as their sales associate identified a number of legitimate issues with our old roof that were not identified by other inspections we had received. They have some flexibility in pricing, offering discounts for flexible installation dates and cash payments, which brought the price down to a level we were comfortable with. HGE began the project very quickly. Even though we selected flexible installation, they were able to start the installation within two weeks of signing the contract. Our new roof looks great, and we're happy with the quality of the installation. Our project manager came by after that installation and walked around the house with us so that we could ask questions. Now, there are a few areas in which HGE could improve and which prevent us from giving HGE 5 stars. First, it seems like the quality of the project may vary with the subcontractor that is hired to perform the installation. While many others have had nothing but positive experiences with their installation, our subcontractors did not properly secure the tarps against our house, and as such debris fell directly onto our screen door, AC condenser, and plants. After discussing this with our project manager, Ty, HGE did offer to replace the screen, replaced our damaged plants, and provided us with a discount, which we very much appreciated. Second, there were some issues with communication. Despite being home for the entire installation, we did not see our project manager at all during this time. We understand that the project manager travels between multiple sites throughout the day, but it would have been nice to see him during the installation so we could ask questions and receive project updates. Third, we had some issues with the post-installation clean-up. We did not expect them to remove every single nail or piece of debris from the site, as we realize that's not realistic, but after the installation we found dozens of nails throughout our property. Many of these were in the driveway, and appeared after the dumpster was removed from our property. In summary, HGE performs quality roof installations quickly. While we felt there were certainly areas for improvement, it is clear that they want their customers to have a positive experience. read more

Had my gutters and soffits replaced. They did it in a timely.and affordable manner and were very responsive to my inquiries.

The worst..I asked them to fix one issue on my roof and it turned into a much $$$ project that was unnecessary.

So I just had a very nice guy come out I'm not blaming him but I think it a little bit of a concern that people are paying 30-40 thousand dollars to put gutters and siding on a 11 hundred foot house and you see it say on there ads they are 99 dollars a month but it is like 260$ and 15 years comes out to be 45 thousand that is not a good deal read more
