Before the big rains we had in March, Peter came by and had his crew go up on my roof and tarp the areas where the leaks were coming from. They put up three or four tarps to protect everything. What really stood out to me was that when my neighbors saw what they were doing, they actually chased his crew down the street and asked if they could come back and tarp their homes as well, and Peter took care of them without hesitation. That impressed me a lot. When they came out to demo my roof, they made sure everything was cleaned up each day, which I really appreciated. At one point, a neighbor's screen was damaged from wind blowing debris off the roof, and without hesitation, Peter offered to repair and replace it. His estimate breakdown and material overview also impressed us, the price was right, and we committed to a full reroofing project of our ancient concrete tile roof. Lots of communication along the way, prompt notifications about permits and inspections, and of course a very much appreciated tidying up at the end of each work day. They use the correct ionized water for solar panels cleaning. When I first got my panels in 2015, I didn't know I had to get them cleaned. Silly me, I assumed that when it rained, my panels would get cleaned. In 2020, Semper Solaris installed a PowerWall into my system and they told me I should get them cleaned, so I finally did. Now I get my panels cleaned every six months. DJ Exterior Services sends me before and after photos of my panels - What a difference! And the TESLA app shows me that my energy production actually increases a tiny bit after the panels are cleaned! I also used DJ Exterior Services when I replaced all the window screens on all my windows and patio door. As scheduled, a young man with DJ Solar Cleaning showed up and did an outstanding job cleaning my solar panels. He was professional and finished the job in less than 30 minutes. He also quoted me the exact same price for the cleaning as he had when I inquired via Instagram. He was very neat, getting very little water on my patio other than where the gutter spout came down from the roof and that is where water is designed to go. After the cleaning service, I asked the technician how often I should schedule additional cleanings. He said it depended on how quick the panel got dirty again. He explained he had some customers who had their panels cleaned every 3 months and others who did it once a year. He estimated I would be fine having mine cleaned every year, but recommended I put a reminder on my phone to check the panels in six months to see how dirty they had become. Our front gutter is pulling away from the house, and after having another company inspect the system, we were informed the installation was done improperly from the start. The issues weren't visible right away, but they've now led to damage to the fascia boards around our home. We are now facing the cost of full gutter reinstallation along with fascia repair and replacement. To make matters worse, the original installers used screws directly through the gutters, making them unusable for reinstall. They also used large wood screws without pre-drilling, which caused splitting in the wood rather than properly securing the system. The gutters are not aligned for proper drainage which also is not helping the situation.. This has turned into an extremely costly and frustrating situation that could have been avoided with proper installation. We trusted the initial work--and even recommended them--but based on what we've since learned, we cannot stand by that recommendation. We did contact the company prior to engaging with a second contractor recently. They came out, told us we should pay for regular clean out of the gutters. We would have welcomed the opportunity for the company to step in and make this right. I would strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before moving forward.
