The decision had to be made on a very short notice and I must say, Langland House provided them an excellent care. The staff is amazing and not only made the residents comfortable but made them feel at home. Not only the staff constantly had their eye on the residents but were watchful for their safety and comfort. Based on what I observed with all the residents everyone enjoyed the food and the type of care each one needed. Both received their medications on time, the medications were ordered every month on a very easy to track system so the family did not have to worry and run-around in panic at the last minute. Staff took each resident for a walk either outside or made them walk inside as part of a daily routine. Langland House is nicely designed with lots of windows facing east, west and south. The light into the common areas and the bedrooms and high ceilings brought a very peaceful setting / feeling not only for the residents but anyone of the family visiting the facility. The aide was also not able to move my husband on her own, which was the other main reason she was hired. Additionally, when I came to relieve her at the end of her eight hour shift, I found my husband in a urine soaked diaper. The frosting on the cake was when I received a bill for the "services" I received, which was covered by Hospice. It took me talking to three people in order to get to a person who knew what an invoice actually was and to resolve the problem. I would think twice about hiring an aide from this company as the care was seriously lacking and the basic business proclivity left a lot to be desired.
