I need help with bathing, dressing, meal prep, light housekeeping, and completion of some errands. Their staff anticipate your needs, and check in with you to make certain that the job that they have done meets your expectations. In addition to being excellent at the tasks, they did, the two primary nurses assigned to me were exceptional people. They were bright, kind hearts, and were clearly in the right field.

I was referred to With A Little Help by a friend of mine who is a hospice nurse. He actually gave me the names of three agencies, and I called them all. The first two had a corporate vibe, and sent me directly into a voicemail black hole. It was days before I heard back. When I called With A Little Help, within seconds, I was talking with Kacie, one of the owners, who was so kind and spent all of the time I needed talking with me about our situation and care needs. By the end of the phone call, we had a plan for an intake evaluation, and just a couple of days later, a new care team was in place...and just like that, the stress and worry that had been accumulating over many months lifted. This is just one example of the many, many I could share about the excellent care With A Little Help offers. They aren't a corporate-care behemoth. They are local, owner run, and some of the most caring people I've met in a long time. Kacie and Paul, the owners, worked with us to find the caregivers that are the best fit for our situation. The caregivers are highly skilled, professional, and compassionate. All of them have giant hearts. Some words that come to mind when talking about With A Little Help: Professional Flexible Kind Collaborative Communicative Compassionate Responsive Punctual Attuned For us, With a Little Help has been something of a miracle. I wholeheartedly recommend them to you for your care needs.

They kept sending different people every day. My mom has dementia - she needs routine and familiar faces, not a parade of strangers confusing her even more. This made her anxious and upset constantly, but apparently Home Instead doesn't give a shit about what patients actually need. Half these caregivers had zero experience and some didn't even have the required licenses to care for my mom. Are you kidding me? I'm paying you to send qualified people, not random folks off the street who don't know what they're doing. This is my mother's safety we're talking about. I called management multiple times trying to fix this mess. Talked to some woman named Needy who gave me the most fake, corporate apologies I've ever heard. No solutions, no changes, just "sorry you feel that way" bullshit while nothing got better. This company took our money and provided garbage care that made my mom's life worse. They don't care about your loved one - they just want to cash your checks and send whoever's available that day. Don't waste your time or money with Home Instead Seattle. Find a company that actually knows how to care for people with dementia instead of this amateur hour operation.

I just lost one of THE BEST caregivers that works here. I am devastated. She likes me a lot but…read morefelt that my health issues weren't getting better because I only had her for a weekday and Sundays. She drives her own vehicle and that's freaking rare! The new Sunday caregiver is very sweet, works her butt off, and is an artist like me! She also lives about four blocks away from me and although she doesn't drive, she still managed to get a lot of chores taken care of. Hooray! Now, the bad part. Before I had M. as my driving caregiver, I had another great caregiver. Her first name also began with M. Ha! Anyway, SHE was amazing. And then, one Monday when she was supposed to start her shift with me, she didn't show up. I had her cellphone number and called her, frantically. Nothing. No calls. No texts. The supervisor called and asked me how I was doing with M, on my new weekday shift. I was surprised and told the supervisor that M. had not shown up or called. I was worried that maybe she had been in an accident or something. SHE didn't call Family Resource ever again. She just quit. I was so upset! And then I went through caregiver after caregiver after caregiver. I told Family Resource that they had one more chance or I would jump ship to another company. Oh, they begged me not to get another company. And they sent M., the most amazing and caring person I had ever met who was a caregiver. We hit it off from the first day and I requested that if she had any shifts she needed filled, I would love to have her. And it was great, until recently. She has children and wanted to spend more time with them in the summer, which I totally get. But...except for my Sunday caregiver, the company doesn't seem to be able to get a driver who isn't a complete flake. And the flakes are flaking out AFTER the company had assured me that they can get a person who drives. After a lot of "will they, won't they?" I am tentatively scheduled to have a driver tomorrow (Thursdays) to take me to a weekly medical procedure. IF no one bothers to show up or something else happens, I am going to find another home healthcare company. I have been dealing with the proverbial "bait and switch" crap for at least a year! This is soooo bad for my physical and mental health. This company never returns calls in a prompt manner. If you talk to one person one time and another person the next time, no one there has a freaking clue what's going on. Seriously?? Family Resource, get it together or I am done with your business.
