An RN would arrive once a week for prescription refills and care givers would handle transportation to and from her doctors appointments and other errands she needed to run. After January 2021 until her passing in May of 2023 the quality of her care decreased dramatically. - Caregivers were no longer consistent. - Her medications for the week were no longer organized and filled by a nurse. Not only was this performed by a non-medical professional it was consistently billed as such. - She began to have young care givers, not even 20 years old, accompany her to appointments. Often care givers would be late, not show up, cancel her doctors appointments. - Often received bills for services not rendered. - Received calls from two of her former care givers that were no longer with the company expressing their concern for her wellbeing. They were concerned because they had grown close to my mother and would still visit her on their free time. The last two points about billing and the calls I received expressing concern for the quality of care she was receiving was early 2022 a few months before her passing. At the time we did not pursue those complaints as they had previously been voiced and we were in the process of finding a new care giver service. Sadly my mother passed shortly. 6 months after her passing I received a phone call from their owner Jim demanding that my brother and I pay a bill of $350. I was accused of ignoring his calls (which I never received) and he threatened to sue me because now that my mother has passed it is now "her kids" responsibility. I informed him that this is NOT the way the law works. I also told him that there is a legal process to submit a claim to her estate but this was absolutely not the way. The vile tone and empty threats were shocking and in no way how someone in the health care business should conduct themselves. I can't believe I would need to tell their CEO this. We are now filing official complaints to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. At best Dedicare is unethical. Stay clear.

My caregiver was coming 3 days a week. She was going on vacation, leaving me without any help for 6…read moredays. She was trying to go on vacation and then make up the time later so her vacation wouldn't affect her paycheck, but there was no consideration that I would be without any help for a week. The owner, Pamela, and the office workers of Supreme Home Caregivers also didn't consider me at all. My caregiver was told to just make up the time after she returned from vacation. Pamela knew she was leaving but said and did nothing about staffing me while the caregiver was gone. I had to call and ask if they were sending someone to replace her, and they seemed shocked and surprised at the concept, saying "Ohhhh okay, well let's see and we'll call you back. That is not understandable. Another time, Pamela called to tell me she was changing my hours, which were not acceptable to me. But she still sent my caregiver to a different client, leaving me in a lurch and refusing to return my messages. I ended up 3 days without any help until she called around and found someone. So, she had reassigned my caregiver and then couldn't staff me. WTH? She sent a couple people, one of whom quit after the first week because Pam had called her and she was just trying to help Pam out. The other lady was very unreliable and didn't show up one day and left early another day. I was so afraid of being left without any help, so I sent Pam a text message on Wednesday, December 3rd asking if she has a plan for the coming week, but she ignored me as usual. I asked the same question by text the next day, but she ignored that one too. And then she called me this past Monday morning to tell me no one was coming. So, there I was deserted. When she finally found someone to send to me, she told this new caregiver to work fewer days/hours than I should have received, not to mention there were 12 hours I didn't have anyone that could be made up for. When I asked about it, she got perturbed. When I pointed out that this was the second time she got perturbed with me for bringing something up to her, she denied it and told me I have options if I'm not happy with her service. When I told her she has screwed me over so often that it was wrong to tell me to go elsewhere if I don't like it, she started yelling. I told her goodbye and hung up the phone because I wasn't sitting there on the phone while she screamed at me. She immediately called my caregiver and told her to clock out and leave my home. She has AGAIN left me without the help I need.

I started making calls to homes my friends family members were in, or had been in, and running into no vacancies. I got Todd's number from a friend, and he started the process immediately of determining what level of care my mother needed, and what local openings there were in the area. Todd met us at each location we toured, he listened, was empathetic, and oozed with trust and understanding. I cannot recommend Todd, and SCA, services enough. Living out of state and unable to travel due to age and Pandemic restrictions I was fortunate to have had Brian recommended to me as a resource. Bryan is the owner of Senior Care Authority covering the Oakland, Livingston & Wayne Counties. From the very first phone call, he assessed my Mother's needs, problems with her current living facility and options that would be a good fit for my Mom in the geographic area she wanted to live in. We wanted to move her as soon as possible and Bryan got to work immediately, sending me suggestions, reviews as well as videos to look at. We then narrowed it down to three places and he then arranged for us to do a virtual tour of each facility. He created a plan, answered questions and helped us manage all the necessary steps in making a choice. He then researched moving companies in the area and sent us the estimates as well as reviews. My 93-year-old Mother was very anxious about the move. On the day of her transfer, Bryan went to her facility prior to the movers arriving, spent time with her, reassuring her and overseeing the move as well. The van arrived to take my Mom (wheelchair bound) to her new home, he followed to make sure everything went smoothly upon her arrival. He also did a FaceTime (at her current address & then when she arrived at her new place) so I could see and speak with my Mom. Bryan is very kind, patience and passionate about his work. We exchanged many phone calls and emails. During this pandemic with health care concerns, it was reassuring to know he was also an experienced nurse. He is planning to visit my Mom in the next week to see how she is adapting & happy in her new residence. I highly recommend Bryan if you need help in researching your choices in caring for a loved one who needs assistance with daily living.
