I did some work in my home a few years ago, 10+ got married had a few kids and figured it was time to expand and grow the home along with my family. Met a guy from home love construction. Told him I did all the work myself and am looking to improve and make the house safer and better. Matt?? RYAN?? We started out in the right direction but as soon as work started things quickly changed. I have a 100 year old home which poses some challenges. We requested and they agreed that work would take place upstairs and then move downstairs, giving us a chance to move belongings around so they can work. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. No toilet downstairs for 4 days. Now plastering (which some how they call drywall???) is happening. There is white dust all over my house. We made it clear we were staying in the house with our 3 dogs. Upstairs is ready to paint but they will not move forward because they want money . I've gotten so many emails saying your going to owe us money soon then work is not completed. It's become ridiculous. Many people have quit during our renovations. I will never use this company again and DO NOT RECOMMEND. HORRIBLE SITUATION. AND NO ONE IN THE COMPANY CARES. read more

I have some very dear friends that have experienced an absolute nightmare dealing with the HGTV Home Love Construction Company. They were promised that the renovations to their home would only take 4 months, but it has been over a year and the renovations still have not been completed. My friends are on a fixed income and the husband is a veteran that has suffered health issues so he is unable to do the renovations himself. This is how Home Love treats our American veterans! The homeowners only see the workers sporadically, sometimes up to 1-2 months with no one coming to the house. The communication is dismal at best, and it's usually the homeowner initiating the calls/texts with various time delays in response - sometimes up to a week to reply. The project manager will tell the homeowners they are coming a certain day, so the homeowners cancel all their plans for that day and then the workers don't show up because they were called to another site. This has happened repeatedly for over a year!! They have had 6 project managers during the course of the renovations, which causes even more delays, and the project manager's communication skills are seriously lacking. My friends are being "ghosted" by upper management with no return phone calls, even after certified letters of "demand for rectification." My friends initially moved out of their house into a rental since the entire house needed new flooring and paint, just so the construction workers would have full access to complete the job quickly. To save money and time, the homeowners demoed all the flooring and popcorn ceiling themselves. But after 9 months of house rental and storage fees, they were forced to move back into their incomplete house with no appliances. They had to pay outside contractors to install the range and range vent hood just so they could cook their meals. They still don't have their microwave installed due to bad cabinet measurements done by Home Love. During their time back in the house, they have attested that Home Love's workmanship is shotty, with one dangerous item of botched electrical wiring. The breaker for the kitchen lights continues to fail (breaker trips) which is wired with their internet! Seriously!!! My friends can't write a review because they are afraid of what repercussions they will suffer from Home Love. They can't afford a construction attorney because they gave so much money to Home Love. They are really between a rock and a hard place!! This company should be out of business!! I noticed that on the Home Love website that there are only a couple of negative reviews. Obviously, Home Love has the ability to delete the negative reviews. When I went to the Yelp website and Better Business Bureau there were 5x more negative reviews than positive ones about Home Love. That is why I am submitting this review to Yelp and Better Business Bureau, and not Home Love! I strongly encourage anyone thinking about hiring Home Love to not hire this company, unless you want to deal with a great deal of frustration and headaches, along with spending a great deal of money out of pocket, in addition to the money you have already paid Home Love (any never see it again)! In all the negative reviews I read, not once did I see that the clients got any money back! I wouldn't wish this company on my worst enemy! They apparently think their clients don't have a life and have nothing better to do than to sit around their house all day every day in the hopes that a Home Love employee will actually show up and get some work done! Please read reviews thoroughly before hiring Home Love Construction. My parents paid roughly $190k for a 1,000 sq. ft. mother-in-law suite, intended to be a generational home. Instead, it has become a nightmare. Within two nights of moving in (after receiving the Certificate of Occupancy in Nov 2025), the new build began flooding every night. After Home Love removed the flooring and cut into the walls, my father and I discovered water coming up from beneath the slab. Despite our requests, Home Love refused to have a professional evaluate the foundation. To make matters worse: Foundation Failure: We personally hired GeoView and APD, who confirmed a deviation below the slab causing damage far beyond "normal settling." The cracks are worsening daily. Destroyed Utilities: They cut our existing, working sprinkler system and have refused to repair or reroute it, leaving us with no functional system. No Remediation: They have not replaced the floors they tore out or addressed the slab issues. We have tried contacting everyone at Home Love and their subcontractors. They only point fingers at each other rather than taking responsibility. We paid for a professional build and received a structure with major foundation issues and water damage. Terrible Experience. Tricked into thinking they know what they are doing. Owner was a complete know it all young guy with no actual experience. We had the house worked on and they had no attention to the most basic of details and left sloppy sloppy work, and didnt do most of it correctly. We have been working with Home Love on a home remodel for 19 months; they originally said the project would be completed in 10 months. We have had five different project managers over the last year. There has been a consistent lack of communication and transparency. All construction is handled by third-party subcontractors, without clear control over the scope of work, timeliness or quality. They demanded final payment in January claiming "substantial completion" of the project when the house was not habitable. It has been 4 months since then and the project is still incomplete. Now they are not responding to our emails. We are looking forward to the project being completed so we can occupy our home. read more

Amature Hours and hours and hours, and days and weeks and months and months and months. It has been a while since the crew was here. The crew spiked the job before Christmas and disappeared. 10 months on a job that was slated to take 10 days, according to the post on the wall for the crew, left by Joe the man who called himself the contractor. During the reassembly process screws and staples were run through the into the next room(still there). They pinched a live electrical wire between the new and existing wall. I am glad I caught it, it could have easily created a fire. They were VERY poor on cleanliness, extremely disappointing, mud was trampled into the carpets and they did not clean it up. Joe, their preventative contractor, who was not a contractor, but "apprenticing" under another man's license lied to me over and over about product availability, installation times, and ghosting was not uncommon, etc. Quality was not their niche'. They brought a shower assembly that was not what was ordered. I said, this is not what we ordered, he said, I had to do a special order, I can't return it, that was a lie, they had a bunch of them at the big box store. Finally the proper shower assembly was ready to install, the door has never closed properly, it was not installed properly, close line pins to keep it shut so they don't roll open. Oh, and the caulking has come loose for improperly installing the walls, and loose in other places. When I said something to the forman, he said the shower doors "said, that is the way it is supposed to be". The holes for the shower door mounting hardware were drilled out incorrectly, hence improper closing. I can put my hand into the gap when it is "closed". A shower head, diverter assembly were chosen and agreed upon. The shower head got installed and was what we wanted. They decided to use a different brand of diverter, not what I ordered, but what they had in their truck, NOT the right one. It was stated that the diverter and shower head would be on the east wall, but they put it on the West wall. Now you get to go into the shower to turn it on instead of just reaching in. After the towel bar was installed, they accidently knocked it off the wall and moved it over .5 inches and used the same concrete wall anchors in the 3/8 drywall, right next to the unstable punctured drywall, instead of the good anchors. They were proficient in cutting corners, bait and switch and lying . The towel bar is now off the wall and there are now 8 holes, 4 on each end in the wall 18 inches apart, where the bar was. They broke a screen and replaced it with an aluminum wire screen, it is crooked and the metal burrs are sticking out, they are sharp. The trim work was much less than anyone would expect, improper cuts, nails sticking out, extra caulk or no caulk. . The scope of services was laid out with clarity and was not adhered to. They pretty much did what they thought was right. They installed an exhaust fan and then gooped the exhaust flap so it would not open. This is just one of the many things I pointed out. The house was occupied during the renovations. They used a Studor Vent instead of the vents that were provided through the roof. toilet, sink and shower on one Studor Vent , the toilet "Boils" up water when flushed. Stand up before you flush! They had a key to get in, which was fine, however, because of their randomness of showing up it was requested that they use the doorbell prior to entry, which was totally ignored. Joe's foreman also lied to me on several occasions. I would never let them back into my home. They wasted not only their time but mine, never, never, never again. Oh, when I sent an email to the actual contractor, he had a former police officer come here to investigate. He was in the house with his "you can't see my eye's" sunglasses the whole time. He was very bossy, rude and demanding. He called himself "Lexy" or Alexa, something like that. It was a far below average experience. The real contractor never reached out to me to resolve the issues, I guess he was lied to also or just did not care, I think he did not care, otherwise the outcome and quality of service would have been MUCH better. And finally,(there is way more) they busted up our ceiling and then ended up charging us for the ceiling repairs, it was way beyond that point that I wanted them out of the house. We were referred to Home Love by Dirt 2 Design. As we were doing a remodel, we were not quite within their normal project scope. We contacted them for a remodel and addition. Each time Dima showed up, the price went up because he didn't add something we requested on the first meeting. The price increased to over 50% above the same day quote and since we agreed to move on to design, we felt trapped and that we'd lose our money. The permitting process took over 8 months and they lied about submitting it. Their subcontractors stole from our house. They damaged our floors, doors, and trim. During construction, they had a major issue which would have required a rebuild or a permit revision, so they went with the permit-- It took over 2 months. We asked for reimbursement for the two months that they delayed the job. They said they will never pay for delays. So keep that in mind, even if they mess up, you're footing the bill. Dima messed up on pricing a few objects and they told me I had to pay the difference. Oh, the bathroom remodel? They didn't add a door to the scope of work for it, so I have to handle that myself. They won't even reimburse me for that. Everyone in the front office will tell you that they're there to assist you and they'll get right back to you with an answer. On October 16th, Garron (their COO) told me we're not forgotten and he'll get right back to me. It's December 11 and I'm still waiting on him to get back to me. Once they get your money, you mean absolutely nothing to them. As for their quality... it's cheapest bidder, typical book build. Once they get sick of dealing with you, they'll have someone else call you, take 3-4 calls, then another VP of XYZ will call you. That's a bunch of bull. They're all "VP" so you feel like you got someone important. It's like having the cashier at the grocers be the "VP of Sales"... And most of their reviews on other sites are "fake". They are written by real people, but Home Love guide guilts people in to giving them good reviews. "Hey, can you leave us a review and put my name in it? They're having a contest at the office and I could win $500!" I could go on for ages about how absolutely horrible this company has been to work with and I hope no one else ever has to deal with them. read more

I approached Jeff Miller of Home Love Construction to bid on my home windows project. I explained to him I had got tired of waiting on the State of Florida to actually pay out on their home improvement grant. I was limited on budget and he worked with me until we managed to find a way to do my entire window replacement project under what 5 other competitors bid. Home Love Construction purchased the materials at a discounted rate, had his person install them at a reasonable rate, (discount for cash payment) and the work was scheduled and completed professionally. I can not say enough for how well Home Love Construction serviced my needs from start to finish. I believe in supporting local contractors and I was not disappointed in the talent we have here in Pasco County. Home Love Construction gets a 5 star out of 5. I thought this was a company that knew what they were doing. they took us for 28K, did not fulfill the contract. We had to hire a lawyer and another company to install our LVP the correct way. HLC did not put down waterproofing material nor installed the LVP correctly they did not install the 6inch poly fill that should always be used when laying LVP on a concrete floor. They are dishonest company, they would never come out and look at our floor after repeatingly telling them we had moisture coming up. They deflected to other reasons, after hiring an inspector who informed us that there as no waterproofing applied we had to hire another company to remove and correct what HLC did, which that cost us after all said and done another 30K. The floor now feels 100% better, no longer walking on a gushy floor. HLC is dishonest and they treat you like it is your problem. HLC has not even attempted to pay for their poor workmanship or acknowledge their fault. read more

I am writing this review to share my disappointing experience with Home Love Constructions, and to inform others that I will be taking them to court. I hired this company back in December to do a garage conversion because my wife had just given birth to our daughter, and we needed the extra room. I made it very clear to Noah, the sales representative, that this project needed to be completed before April. He assured me it would be done well before our move-in date of April 7. Despite paying my deposit and the money for materials, no construction was done for months. I reached out to Noah multiple times for updates, but he failed to answer my emails. This lack of communication was a recurring issue with the company. After several emails, I finally got in touch with someone who informed me that the workers on my project went on vacation, and they would complete the final steps to get the permit once they returned. Unfortunately, that turned out to be untrue. As April approached, there was still no progress on the project. I contacted their office in Clearwater, only to speak with more sales representatives who had no information regarding my project. I requested an exact timeline for when work would begin, but could not get a satisfactory answer. I emailed Noah to inform him that if I could not receive a specific start date, I needed to cancel the project. He promised to let me know by the following day, but once again, I received no response. By this time, we had moved into the house, and there was still no construction completed. I reached out one final time, stating that I intended to cancel if I did not receive a start date. Nobody replied. I sent emails to Noah and the deputy CEO Cody, and others, requesting to cancel the project. They attempted to dissuade me, insisting it would take much longer to receive a refund and that some of my money might not be returned. They suggested it would be best to wait for construction to begin, but with a newborn, living in a construction zone was not a viable option for us. I submitted a formal cancellation notice to Noah, Cody and Dima but as of June, they have still not canceled my project and are holding my money hostage. I urge others to be cautious and not fall for their positive reviews, as I have seen multiple allegations that these reviews are fake, and I genuinely believe this company needs to be investigated. Really just an overall horrible experience using Home Love Construction. I do not write reviews, but this experience, toppled with the total lack of customer service, and overall care for my home during the entire duration of the project warrants one. In October of 2023, Home Love Construction started a $233,000 room addition / home renovation for my property. From the beginning, there was issues. First, I was sent a $20,000+ change order for a load baring beam HLC "did not know about". My home was 1,200 square feet, in a perfect rectangle. If they truly didn't know about this, then wow - certainly buyer beware. In my opinion, they lure homeowner into signing a contract by hiding costs. After this episode, walls weren't even remotely constructed level (see pictures). The subs walked off the job as if the mission was accomplished. At every turn, I was having to be the General Contractor, calling out poor workmanship, and getting on Home Love Construction to correct their mistakes. Also, I installed all new Marble floors in bedrooms, and brand-new flooring throughout the house. I have always been told flooring specifically goes in last. Not with Home Love. They installed the flooring, and took NO action to protect the flooring. Dry wall dust, paint, and dirt is permanently stuck to the floors. When I brought this to HLC's attention, Dima and company told me I would be responsible for the upcharge to clean. Are you kidding me? The list goes on and on, I have included pictures to validate my claims. I reached out to "CEO" Brad several times. He has not once reached out to me once to address my several emails and issues. When I continued to elevate my concern, I was told that Brad is not there to deal with my concerns, Garron is. Well, if Garron is, why has he never reached out either? The only time I heard from Brad is when he was assisting Dima in trying to close a sale. I am not alive to see business take blame and bad press. I have realized that in this case it really is warranted - I pray no one experiences the disaster I went through. I have been contacted by several HLC clients with similar experiences, and it is widespread. Very unfortunate, I wouldn't be surprised to see HLC out of business very soon. We could not be more disappointed with our experience working with Home Love Construction. We made the decision to completely move out of our home in advance of the remodel, placing all our furnishings in storage, leaving the construction crew free reign to make all the necessary renovations without obstacles. Communication during the entire process was dismal at best unless Home Love was asking for money. We were wrong to think that Home Love would be contacting us to say it's time to order the flooring; it's time to order the appliances, etc. If we didn't actively ask about things, they would not get taken care of. We don't know much about construction which is why we hired the "professionals" but we would've had more success and a complete remodel in much less time, had we hired our own independent workers. What should've taken 6-8 weeks, took almost 5 months. Almost every single task they did, had to be done a second time as they didn't get it right the first time. This is partly why the remodel took more than twice the amount of time to complete. We were told that we would be sharing a project manager (PM) with other clients but would have our own dedicated crew which to us meant that they would be working at our home every weekday from 8am-5pm. This was not the case. There were days and weeks when no work was done as the sub was on another project. This led to extended costs for storage and housing. We picked out flooring and our PM contacted the flooring company with the square footage and required accessories. We provided them with a credit card to complete the purchase. We were left with 10 boxes of flooring after installation as the PM mis-measured yet Home Love refused to accept responsibility for the overage. They charged us for items that were never used in our home yet refused to credit us for them. We asked the owner/COO Brad Bachand to meet to voice our concerns and he blew us off. He asked my wife some questions and we never heard from him again. He created his one sided timeline on his own and never provided any attempt at resolution. By the time they offered us to work with their franchisee we were fed up with the company and had no confidence that it wouldn't be more of the same behavior we had been experiencing. If I could give a zero for Home Love Construction, I would. Home Love Construction is a dishonest company. They took a deposit from us and will not refund 40% of it because we refused to sign their one sided contract, which completely left the homeowner vulnerable to huge liability. They presented the contract two weeks after taking our money. After two written demands to receive the remainder of our deposit, we initiated a telephone call and spoke with Tami Miller and Russell J. Miller "Jeff", who is the primary General Contractor for Home Love Construction. During our telephone conversation, we demanded the remainder of our deposit back and Jeff stated the following, "When will you get your full refund? Let's see, how about when hell freezes over!". They site a "Florida Law" but cannot give the statue to reference. They will take your money then later present the bad contract. Shady!!! We searched TWO YEARS to find someone who would build 2 decks for us...and we ran across some real characters, believe me...Then, thru people we trust, we found Home Love. Game, set, match!!!! Over the course of 5 days, they built two incredible structures...quality beyond belief! From Brad, who we initially met with, to Rich the manager, to John, Hunter and David who worked their butts off and never looked up from what they were doing, they just did it. John is the seasoned vet but, Hunter and David were on top of it all as if they'd been at it for years.
