    More plaster dust

We started out in the right direction but as soon as work started things quickly changed. I have a 100 year old home which poses some challenges. We requested and they agreed that work would take place upstairs and then move downstairs, giving us a chance to move belongings around so they can work. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. No toilet downstairs for 4 days. Now plastering (which some how they call drywall???) is happening. There is white dust all over my house. We made it clear we were staying in the house with our 3 dogs. Upstairs is ready to paint but they will not move forward because they want money . I've gotten so many emails saying your going to owe us money soon then work is not completed. It's become ridiculous. Many people have quit during our renovations. I will never use this company again and DO NOT RECOMMEND. HORRIBLE SITUATION. AND NO ONE IN THE COMPANY CARES.

Please read reviews thoroughly before hiring Home Love Construction. My parents paid roughly $190k for a 1,000 sq. ft. mother-in-law suite, intended to be a generational home. Instead, it has become a nightmare. Within two nights of moving in (after receiving the Certificate of Occupancy in Nov 2025), the new build began flooding every night. After Home Love removed the flooring and cut into the walls, my father and I discovered water coming up from beneath the slab. Despite our requests, Home Love refused to have a professional evaluate the foundation. To make matters worse: Foundation Failure: We personally hired GeoView and APD, who confirmed a deviation below the slab causing damage far beyond "normal settling." The cracks are worsening daily. Destroyed Utilities: They cut our existing, working sprinkler system and have refused to repair or reroute it, leaving us with no functional system. No Remediation: They have not replaced the floors they tore out or addressed the slab issues. We have tried contacting everyone at Home Love and their subcontractors. They only point fingers at each other rather than taking responsibility. We paid for a professional build and received a structure with major foundation issues and water damage. Save yourself the stress and financial loss--look elsewhere for your construction needs.

We were referred to Home Love by Dirt 2 Design. As we were doing a remodel, we were not quite within their normal project scope. We contacted them for a remodel and addition. Each time Dima showed up, the price went up because he didn't add something we requested on the first meeting. The price increased to over 50% above the same day quote and since we agreed to move on to design, we felt trapped and that we'd lose our money. The permitting process took over 8 months and they lied about submitting it. Their subcontractors stole from our house. They damaged our floors, doors, and trim. During construction, they had a major issue which would have required a rebuild or a permit revision, so they went with the permit-- It took over 2 months. We asked for reimbursement for the two months that they delayed the job. They said they will never pay for delays. So keep that in mind, even if they mess up, you're footing the bill. Dima messed up on pricing a few objects and they told me I had to pay the difference. Oh, the bathroom remodel? They didn't add a door to the scope of work for it, so I have to handle that myself. They won't even reimburse me for that. Everyone in the front office will tell you that they're there to assist you and they'll get right back to you with an answer. On October 16th, Garron (their COO) told me we're not forgotten and he'll get right back to me. It's December 11 and I'm still waiting on him to get back to me. Once they get your money, you mean absolutely nothing to them. As for their quality... it's cheapest bidder, typical book build. Once they get sick of dealing with you, they'll have someone else call you, take 3-4 calls, then another VP of XYZ will call you. That's a bunch of bull. They're all "VP" so you feel like you got someone important. It's like having the cashier at the grocers be the "VP of Sales"... And most of their reviews on other sites are "fake". They are written by real people, but Home Love guide guilts people in to giving them good reviews. "Hey, can you leave us a review and put my name in it? They're having a contest at the office and I could win $500!" I could go on for ages about how absolutely horrible this company has been to work with and I hope no one else ever has to deal with them.

HLC subs walked off project telling me the new wall was installed... I had to fight with them to fix.

There is over spray on the top of all the cabinets - it isnt really noticible until you open the cabinet door, but it is there. He said he would level the living room floor before installing LVP, but I can tell now now it is not leveled. Very few of the outlets and receptacles were installed flush with the wall. Some are cockeyed or protrude a bit. Everything in the kitchen is too tight. Some doors on the cabinets they installed won't open all the way where they butt up against another cabinet. There is insulation protruding around the dishwasher where they installed it. I made it very clear how much space I needed for the fridge. They used a too-thick drywall and reduced the space. They installed the baseboards then placed the vanities in the bathrooms. There is a space between the back of the vanity and the wall. This is all just little stuff I didn't notice before I made final payment. When I did find it, I called and left a message. Brian didn't bother to call back. I reduced my review to 3 stars because of this. They earned the 3 stars because they worked with me on payments (the insurance took a while), they showed up on time, and there were no language barriers with the crews.

My wife and I entered into the contract and project with good faith and high hopes for Home Love…read more Unfortunately we were let down at almost every stage of the project. A permit issue wouldn't allow us to do everything we wanted which is no fault of Home Love's. However, we received zero communication for over a month. Communication resumed only after we added another project to the contract. We went through 3 separate Project Managers. Had a dumpster sit in front of our house for 3 weeks with ZERO work being done. No communication from Home Love and we constantly had to reach out and ask for updates. Demolition was scheduled, but after the work was completed, the project sat for weeks with no additional progress. The contract stated they would contact 811 before digging. That was not done, and during excavation an irrigation line was damaged. The first part of the project was a drainage line which subsequently had to be redone 2 weeks later because it wasn't done correctly. We had to push for them to call 811 dig multiple times before that. Our pool safety fence was installed poorly. Multiple holes drilled in wrong places. Almost all of the sleeves are broken. We selected a self closing and self latching gate which was of course not ordered. We were provided a cheap gate that did neither of those things. It was only after my wife left a review on google that was corrected. For our Lawn project they ordered the wrong color mulch, didn't order the edging we selected and we were forced to change last minute after having selected materials months prior. Further work was conditioned on approving a change order that we weren't even provided an itemized breakdown for. Multiple plants arrived dead and required replacement. In our opinion, the most frustrating aspect was how adversarial the company became. We paid every single milestone on time or early and they threatened to file a construction lien before the final payment was even due under the contract. We have retained photographs and email correspondence documenting these issues. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Home Love due to repeated communication issues, workmanship concerns, and contract disputes.
