The online banking system and bill pay are great. Everyone here is really friendly! Sounds like five stars, right? And it would be. Except going to a teller is literally slower than any other bank I have ever been to in my life. No matter how many windows are open, I expect to wait at least a full minute for every person in front of me. Every time. It doesn't matter who I go to, what time of day. Last time I went, I was the 8th person in line, and I waited for over ten minutes to deposit a check. By the time I got called to a teller, there were 15 people in line behind me. I hope that they found someone to open another window after I left, but they certainly didn't while I was there. And that's really how it is every time. Even if I don't have to wait in line, the simple act of depositing a check is slower than at other banks. But really, CEFCU is awesome. If you never have to go to a teller, your experience will probably be 100% awesome. But I find the slowness so irritating it literally takes the rating down from 5 stars to 3 for me.

However, not before sending a letter stating the payment was $10 past due & further privileges to use the account & late fees would accumulate if past due amount wasn't paid. Then loan was taken care of. Sent another statement showing close to $4 still due. Had to call to ask. Said it showed $0 balance. Asked for letter to be sent about credit card being paid off & improperly charged weekly $50 amounts after being turned in & CEFCU not shutting card off. NEVER WAS SENT LETTER. ALSO,have had problems with payment of consolidation loan monthly payments by Lynne. In at least one instance teller failed to deposit into checking so it'd be available for automatic transfer. In the end her automatic transfer has now been terminated by CEFCU. Both of us have accounts at another local community bank. That bank is much easier to work with & gets to know it's customers. I now have my automatic deposit going there...not CEFCU.

I had a good experience with my loan officer at first state, but the experience with first state…read moreitself was quite bad. During the application process, I paid for an appraisal and then learned that first state's interest rates are higher than Point mortgage's (another lender's) rates, so I withdrew my application and applied with Point. Then first state refused to transfer the appraisal to Point so I need to pay another appraisal fee to Point. All Point wanted was verification from first state that the appraisal was ordered in an unbiased way, but first state refused. The compliance officer at first state did not seem interested in my request for such a letter, and later told me he was doing somebody a favor by sending the appraisal, but he would not send the letter which Point needed, which was no favor to me.

Holy crapnuggets--this building is a biohazzard. There's abundant signage about "Masks mandatory to…read moreenter," but no enforcement, particularly among staff. Almost everyone we saw was unmasked, wearing a chin diaper, or putting the mask on just when a customer approached. Our mortgage officer came in not even having his on him. As one worker preached being an 'essential worker' on one hand, the abundance of employees concurrently said, "We'd like a plague rat given the chance." Absolutely filthy, and should be deep-Lysoled before I'd ever return.
