I love unique clothes and accessories. This is my "go-to" store in Dallas. Gorgeous fabrics made into stylish design. It matters what the fabrics feel like. These are amazing! The jeans here are my favorite! They work for skinny and curvy. I can always find a necklace and bracelet to perfectly go with a dress or shirt from here. Go see for yourself! Shopping at Home on Bishop in the Bishop Arts District is an unusual experience these days. It is like having a personal shopper. Cody and Renee' are professionals who can size up a shopper's style and interest instantaneously and suggest clothing, jewelry and accessories that compliment that style. I stopped in for a great looking fuchsia crossbody handbag and left with three shopping bags of clothes, handbags, a hat and jewelry. The prices are reasonable and Cody made a lasting customer with his creative offers and choices. He and Renee' know their products and merchandise and do a great job selling them. read more

I stopped by here with my wife after we met someone at a restaurant who recommended the place for their iPhone case (My wife likes it and it looks like a purse). We were the only people in the store and got to hang out with the owners. They gave us each a cup of wine and we really enjoyed ourselves. We really felt like friends of the store owners by the time we left, and we found several things to buy and the store owners were extremely helpful in getting to know us and making recommendations that made sense. The store has great merchandise, and much of it will not be restocked, so once it is sold out it is gone. This is one of those stores you want to check into often to see what they are carrying and make sure you buy it if you like it. This store is definitely worth a look. read more

This is a zero star review. I would not purchase anything from the owners, Cody and Ken. I have been dealing with an issue with them since August 2015, regarding a purchase that was supposed to be shipped to me in AZ. I PAID EXTRA ( $275,)for expedited shipping, which Cody did NOT PROVIDE, nor did Cody honor his word and ship The item when he promised, when I called him several times to find out the tracking number, it had not ever been shipped, finally, I asked him to just return the item, as it was STILL IN HIS STORE, past the time frame that he promised to ship it. He refused, became belligerent over the phone and told me to dispute it with my credit card company, so I did. He knowingly shipped the merchandise AFTER the dispute was filed with my credit card company and so I refused delivery. It is now mid- December and the dishonesty from them still continues. I have been fighting a charge of the purchase $1635, on my credit card since August 2015. I also discovered On October 15, 2015, after much documentation to prove that I do not have the item, Cody still told my credit card that I had the item. I actually just got off of the phone with the president of the freight company and indeed, Home on Bishop received and signed for the return of the item on October 1, 2015, yet he told my credit card two weeks later that I in fact, had the item. I would never, ever again, support any of their businesses. Ever. A lawsuit has been filed against CODY and his business as of May 25, 2016. I would NOT ever support any of his businesses. I REGRET the day I ever walked into his stores. I would seriously question any person who feels he is justified to be paid in full for merchandise, AND feel he also has the right to KEEP the merchandise too. Think about it... read more

I feel like I found a goldmine in Bishop Arts! Home on Bishop is a fantastic little shop! My family and I found ourselves in the area for lunch and then decided to walk around for a bit, and I'm so glad we did. There were two very friendly men working there, and I'm guessing at least one, if not both, were the owners. They knew so much about every well-curated piece, and they were not blowing smoke. They seemed to genuinely love each piece in the store. They made the shopping experience enjoyable without being too pushy. Prices appeared to be reasonable for the quality of the merchandise. Cute vases for $8 to beautiful, large Italian leather handbags in the $200 range. The Sorial handbags and purses were the highlight of our trip there. They are also sold at Stanley Korshak and Tootsie's. They feel like butter and I want to sleep on my adorable new handbag (that size was only $69!). Overall, they had a nice selection of home decor, handbags, jewelry, and women's clothing. Next time I need a gift for someone else (or myself), I know exactly where I'm going! read more

Just popped into the Corner Market store yesterday after a glitch in my otherwise scheduled day left me with time on my hands. Had seen a gorgeous metal wall hanging in the shop last weekend after they had closed; so went in and checked it out in person. Gustavo was an absolute doll and even took it down off the wall for me to inspect closer. I told him I needed to talk to my husband as it was a rather substantial purchase. I also checked out the ili NY handbags, which I needed in black. If they had one I would have snapped it up. I guess the reason I am sharing this positive story is because I was shocked when Gustavo told me to go check out the 'other shop we own' across the street. I went directly over and was warmly greeted by a sweet saleswoman, who kindly answered my questions and listened to my boring story about my fruitless trip downtown. Then I asked a question about a maker of a piece of jewelry, hoping it had been made locally. I was considering buying it (plus another one) but the owner, Cody, stepped in and made me feel completely stupid, saying "well that one is from Paris. I bought it so now *you* can buy it!" I'm sure he thought he was being adorably cheeky....but man, what a turn-off. And then later, he regaled me (and other ladies in the room waiting for their friend in the dressing room) to 'buy local' and 'stop buying online! It's killing small businesses like ours!" I said, yes, I know. I owned just such a local business....called Makers Connect, in Lake Highlands. (I'm thinking, 'gee, sometimes you just don't know who you're talking to and maybe need to tone it down about five notches! Preaching to the converted, friend!') But it got worse.... As I neared the door, I swore he said to his associate, "she was just checking price tags....don't get me started!" Don't worry, I won't get you started. But I am glad I got this off my chest, because no one needs to be treated like that. Keep the snarky comments till folks are well clear of your building, at the minimum. I had hoped to send some friends there (who have lots more cash to drop on clothes and accessories than I do these days) but now I seriously doubt it. read more

Home on Bishop was one of our last stops. We could have spent all day in here. Friendly savvy owners treated us like queens! Fun suggestions for my girls and we made some very nice purchases. Found some beautiful earrings that I wanted to get during the wine walk..... But the employees were so rude to my friends requesting wine as we shopped that I decided not to buy them ( even though I really wanted them and they were only $25!). Whenever we have friends in town, which is quite often as my husband is from England, we always go to the Bishop Arts District. Yesterday, on my friends last day before going back to England, we stopped into the store, Home, and she fell love with a pair of black earrings. They were $32.50 according to the tag on the hook. She wanted to look at the other two sister stores before making her purchase, so we handed the earrings and some bracelets to the girl working to hold for her. When she went back to buy them the girl had removed the price tag from the earrings and had to go get it from the back. She then brought out a price tag for $62.50. When we let let her know we knew that she had switched the price tags, she sat there and told us we were wrong. Even said we must have looked at a price tag on some random pair of stud earrings we didn't even look at. But we both clearly saw the original price tag hanging on the hook of the earring and I even made the comment when we were in the other store, Dwell, and saw that the earrings were less expensive at Home. She could've just said that they were priced incorrectly but instead lied to us and told us we were wrong. Needless to say my friend did not purchase those earrings, and I will not be bringing anyone back into any of those three stores. Thanks for ruining my friends last day in Texas with your horrible customer service. That was just ridiculous. read more

My husband and I have just had the most incredible customer service experience that I think anyone could ever have! We found ourselves in need of a couch after our new puppy took out his separation anxiety on our current couch and we wound up in this adorable shop where I fell in love with a couch and some lamps and (let's be honest) everything in sight. We scraped up funds to buy the couch and arranged for the delivery. Due to our insane schedules and crazy lives, we could only have the couch delivered on one specific day of any week. Well, there was a mix up at the warehouse while Cody was in Europe and -long story short- delivery day came but no couch. Ken and Cody found out the couch was not even in Texas yet! Despite the warehouse mixup not being their own fault, they called us and apologized profusely and completely refunded us...but are still going to get us that couch!!! What an amazing blessing! What they didn't know is that the money we spent on the couch was the money we had saved up for the honeymoon we've still never been able to take. As we speak we are FINALLY planning our honeymoon. It's over a year late but we are more thankful than ever to be planning it at all and it's all thanks to these wonderful people!! Ken and Cody y'all are so awesome!
