I finally checked out the new location. They moved from Henderson to Lower Greenville. It's probably just me, because Greenville has a chill vibe, but this store caught the vibe. You can find anything from candles, clothes, baby gifts, Christmas decorations, cards, pillows, jewelry, funny socks. It's a fun gift givers dream. This store is ADORABLE! My friend lives across the street & when I was in town we came and shopped. The kids section is incredibly adorable and the clothes are so soft and the patterns are beyond cute. I found the most beautiful sequin jacket for my daughter that she is beyond obsessed with and the cutest cowboy boot print dress that looked fantastic for preschool pictures. The prices were right in line with the quality of the clothes and the sale selection is out of this world & has some amazing deals! If you are in the Knox/Henderson area, you must pay this place a visit! It will literally make your heart happy the moment you step foot into the cute happy house on the corner. They have great gifts for men, women, kiddos and furry friends so everyone can find something. Its 2020 and racism and racial profiling STILL exist! Brought my best friend here after we had an impromptu lunch. Neither of us were dressed fancy. Like blue jeans, baseball caps, socks and slides type of attire. We walk in and were kindly greeted, but then noticed there was a different employee watching or even following us the entire time we were browsing the store. Like they weren't even trying to hide it. Then as I was checking out to purchase a cute sticker for my laptop the cashier asked "Oh this is all you're buying?!" in a rude and loud voice for all to hear! I wasn't there to even buy anything I just wanted to show my Bestie this adorable place I like to shop at when I'm in Dallas. I'm saddened by the fact they deleted my review on their Facebook page, and didn't even offer an apology for their staffs behavior. Its sad to feel like your skin color, attire, or even purchase makes people think they're better than you. read more

Oh this store is dangerous for me because I LOVED everything! I'm from Dallas and visit frequently but haven't heard of this store and I think it has been around for around 10 years (they did move locations). I don't usually shop this part of town (but now I will!). We were out this way because my friend was looking for antique stores and there were some across the street. I prefer clothes shopping over antiques (although they were good stores) and so this is where I spent most of my time on this shopping venture. They have a variety of super cute clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry and gifts. I ended up getting an adorable summer dress, 2 pairs of sandals (free people and splendid) and a top (on sale). Oh and impulse at the counter earrings! (just $10!) They have a cute little sale section tucked in a corner. I would say their pricing is mid to high (but I guess it is all relative!) but the quality and cuteness is great! Love the brands they carry. I loved how they pulled everything together in the store. They sure know how to display and make you want everything! The salesgirls were really friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back! read more

This place is a new addition to the Henderson strip since I moved six years ago, so it was fun to check out while roaming along that block. The stock reflects an aesthetic of bohemian-urban-hippie-cowgirl...but one who has a lot of money in her wallet. I will say that the prices seem rather inflated. $500-some for pre-beat-up cowgirl boots, cute though they might be, seems excessive. And that extends to the rest of the collection, too. The jewelry, clothes, furniture, kid stuff and whimsical gifts are all cool and not just the same things you'd see everywhere, but still I was surprised at the prices. While I am willing to pay a little more when something is different, this was just beyond my range. If I still lived in Dallas this would be a place I'd come for some wishful thinking or some very special shopping. Truly a Texas Winner! "Favor the Kind" is such a sweet shop of a privately owned store done right. I take all of my out of town friends there to shop. It has a great Texas vibe with a whole lot of gypsy love. Definitely a stop and see shop for the visitor. Prices are always fair. I actually purchased a dress from them for $98. When I was at Anthropologie yesterday, they had the same dress (same label) for $170. It's great to support local business, and even better when the deals are sweeter! The atmosphere that is housed within this store is just what the store name describes. The merchandise is a wide variety of items that can bring "kindness" to your life and the life of anyone who chooses to make a purchase. I know that sounds dramatic but the merchandise is what drew me to the store and every purchase I've made for myself or others has brought so much joy to my life and my friends/family that I really don't shop anywhere else. While in Dallas on a recent trip, my friend and I discovered The Gypsy Wagon. It is full of girly fun such as vintage cowboy boots, clothing, custom jewelry, antique furniture, glassware, cards, gift items and decor--much of it made in Texas. The owners were both there, a precious husband and wife (who is 9 months pregnant and holding) team who greeted us warmly. We strolled around ooohing and aaahing and finally stumbled upon a display of wonderful metal bracelets for $6 each!! My friend loaded up her arm with bangle goodness and I found several fashioned of gold-toned metal for moi. Okay, back to my friend, who had about a dozen lined up on her arm. When I mentioned she may not be able to bend her elbow to drink the Champagne we were having later, she decided to put half back. This is one of the cutest shops I have seen in Dallas. Some items may seem a bit pricey but the quality of vintage clothing and boots is exceptional. I will stop in every time I'm up this way to take a peek at what they have going on and to meet the new baby! read more

Horrible customer service. I just moved to Dallas and was getting my hair done at the Salon next door. It was suggested to me by my new stylist to pop in and take a look around. I had some birthday present shopping to do for a few friends and myself so I was excited. Apparently I do not look like I have money to spend because I was not greeted, glared at and blatantly ignored. I have been in retail management for close to 5 years and I would never allow my staff to act as these women did. I was insulted and felt like I was not welcome and a burden. In the market for the prime pairs boots for your weekend line dancing class? It's all here. I find myself going to this quaint cottage-feel spot just to admire the aesthetic and lay out of the store. Yes, I am tempted to always buy something when I walk in there. However, even when I leave empty handed I am immediately uplifted by just the cozy yet lightheartedness feel of the store. The prices are not astronomical either. They are very reasonably priced considering the quality of their products. My favorite aspect of the gift shop is that they make it a point to feature local artists in their selections of jewelry, yard art, interior decor, and so on. They recently moved down the street on Henderson to a bigger location, so the 'cute, clutter' is not disheveled anymore. There is an overabundance of objects, but every trinket and toy has its place. When we hear the words "gypsy wagon", we can't help but picture a beat up wagon covered in exotic trinkets, luring you into its creaky door. Well, that's more or less what Dallas' own Gypsy Wagon is, but bigger and not as anxiety provoking. Because of the huge boom in business, the store recently relocated itself to the front lines of Henderson Avenue. Living literally a hop, skip and jump away, The Wagon taunts me daily with its vast array of, well, everything. I could spend an entire day cooing over their boutique clothing selection and hand-made jewelry or ogling their "sussies" -- a term they use for all their knick-knacks and do-dads. I have turned so many friends on to this store, I have them coming over solely to drag me in there with them so they don't feel as guilty spending their money on everything they see. This giant walk-in treasure chest has everything from wacky kitchen timers to vintage headbands. This is the type of store where you know the one thing you spend your money on will be a conversation starter for the next few years. The staff is super hip and super nice - always saying hello and informing you of any sales that are currently happening. They're also walking models for The Wagon, decked in its jewelry and scarves. If I had fist loads of cash, my whole wardrobe would be from this store. They have a cute mix of Urban Outfitters, Anthropolgie and throw in a little western wear. I found the most AMAZING pair of cowboy boots. I seriously got chills when I saw them, but they are equal to almost a month of rent! Basically this place was absolute torture for me, almost everything I saw I instantly loved, but it was all out of my meager price range by a long shot. :( I really wish there could be places like this that cater to us po folk, and if I didn't know what great quality everything was hear I would have deducted at least one star for the high prices, but Gypsy Wagon is not at fault for my obnoxious cheapness. If you are willing to throw down $150 for a unique sun dress or $700 bucks for an astounding pair of cowboy boots, this is your place. This store was super cute! As soon as I walked in, I saw Henry the Talking Gnome (if you have never seen this amazing toy--google it, buy it, do something!) & I was instantly in love. I was just doing some Christmas shopping and this was EXACTLY the store I needed - it had funny novelty gifts (such as Henry, desk top bowling, sarcastic note pads), cute unique clothing, and adorable Christmas ornaments. Even though it's a pretty small place, I was probably in there an hour just walking around and around to make sure I didn't miss anything. This is hands down one of my favorite places to shop in Dallas. Everytime I go I see unique things I don't see anywhere else. The clothes are adorable and the gift and home decor is fantastic.
