Dirty Dog is a Dog Groomer as well as a DIY Pet Wash establishment and Pet Bakery…read more Upon walking in all I could smell was fresh baked cookies. Yes!! Cookies and Donuts..Homemade for your fury friend at a decent price. Brilliant idea . They appointment to have my Moms pup Sammy groomed. Wash and cut. Normally they have quite a lengthy wait. We placed our name on the wait list. Luckily we were called later on the that day for an appointment. Sammy; my mom's dog was squeezed in to have a wash and haircut. Donna was our Groomer. She came out to greet Sammy, listened how we wanted him groomed and the icing on the cake was that Sammy felt comfortable. (He is a nervous rescue) Donna's expertise was the highlight of our experience expecally when Sammy came out to greet us smiling waging his tail looking like a million bucks. Donna did such an incredible job on his hair in a few hours time. So much love and compassion for my furry brother. We highly recommended this Pet Spa.

Terrible terrible service. I brought my husky in for a grooming and while she was overdue for a…read moregrooming and had a thick exterior coat, she was not in need of what they did. The staff called and recommended to us that our husky's belly be shaved due to the matting of her fur and I declined. I was not listened to by the staff and received another phone call saying that it was in my dog's best interest to shave her, despite the fact that I had already declined to have her shaved, and that they couldn't let her leave being that matted (?? this is my dog - therefore I have the right to decline what is being offered if it is not what I want done to her or if I think it is against her best interest given that she is a HUSKY who naturally temperature regulates with her thick coat). Then I got a third call from the manager saying that my dog needed to be shaved. I was not made aware that they were recommending her entire body vs just her belly (which is what was told to me on the first phone call I received and when I declined to have her shaved). The manager, Janet, also did not state that an alternative option would be to come pick her up and not have the grooming finished, despite her later telling me that she did offer this to me as an option. Huskies are not to be shaved, any groomer should know this. I later found out (after they shaved her) that Dirty Dog does have a policy to not shave huskies, so I am having a really hard time understanding why they broke their own rule after their paying customer declined (twice) wanting their dog shaved. After being told she needed to be shaved even though we declined twice, we agreed to have her belly shaved because that is what we were lead to believe they were going to do. They ended up shaving her entire body and Janet was not kind or respectful to me when I expressed my frustration at the situation. Not once did she take accountability for the situation but rather continued to try to convince me that I was in the wrong and this was the only option. I am incredibly disappointed in the service my dog and I received today. I will not be returning and I strongly believe no one else should either. Very poor manners and customer service. They tried to fall back on the fact that my dog's fur was in bad shape (which it certainly was not in good condition, but never has any other dog groomer EVER recommended shaving any of my huskies because apparently they are better at doing their research and understanding of the fact that huskies ARE NOT TO BE SHAVED), instead of apologizing for their unwillingness to listen to me as their paying customer. They also tried to fluff things up by saying my dog "was happy to have the fur come off," but they were likely just trying to absolve themselves from any responsibility of not listening to their customer. I understand the risks of matted fur and know that more frequent groomings are necessary in the future. What I don't understand is how Janet and her team at Dirty Dog did not take no for an answer the first time I told them I did not want my husky shaved and how they refused to offer consideration, empathy and an apology for how the entire situation played out.

I really tried to give Petco another shot. The last time I came, we had a great experience--kind…read morestaff, no issues. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. From the moment we walked in, the groomer had an aggressive energy that made me hesitant to leave my dog, but I decided to give it a chance. I received a call saying things were going well--until suddenly, he snapped and bit her. While I absolutely don't condone that behavior, I have to be honest: her demeanor felt off from the start. Even when I returned, she had an attitude that felt more like "deal with your dog" than concern. My mini doodle showed no aggression toward her when I picked him up, which makes me feel like he was reacting to how he was being handled. What also confused me was the grooming process. She shaved him down before even washing him, despite saying she would work through the mats first. It's concerning because it feels like the grooming was rushed, and maybe that's when a mistake was made--perhaps he was nicked or mishandled. Instead of acknowledging that, the blame seems to be placed solely on the dog. After reading other reviews, I'm not the only one who feels like some of the groomers here lack the patience and care dogs deserve. Grooming should be done with gentleness, not fear or frustration, and unfortunately, that's not what we experienced today

My dog kept pulling on his leash, so I got distracted and apologized explaining he's not leash trained and she was still unresponsive. When I finally looked up at her, she was looking at me like I had 3 heads. I'm not a talkative person by any means but I do make small talk at the register because who doesn't?? Common courtesy is so simple yet so many people lack it. If someone says something to you, you respond back.. The cashier: long dark hair, sweatpants and a t-shirt seems miserable and was rude. I complained to the manager and all he did was interrupt me, wouldn't let me get a word in and gave me excuses. "She's soft spoken" blah blah. Eventually I got frustrated enough to swear on the phone because he kept talking over me and he ended up trying to end the call so I said "F you". It could've been different had he just listened for 2 minutes because I never talk to people like that. The manager was just as childish and rude as the cashier. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Petco.
