Hired a company that had sales reps in BJ's warehouse. Said company had no mention and or was not noted on contract that I signed that they are partnering with installations made easy. I paid the local HVAC company via a check in full. two weeks later installations made easy billed me near $6,000 without having authorized to do so, I had not provided and or given them any information, and or where told they were in any form apart of the sale. By the time I was informed of the company via my own research into where the charges come from- I get no call in return and or explanation and or refund upon calling them. No apology and or information of where and how they drafted almost $6,000 illegally from me. We purchased bamboo flooring from lumber liquidators in San Marcos,Ca and was given this number after our bamboo floors had buckled in many places! Precision flooring installed them with lumber liquidator's recommendation, so the floors would have a year warranty on installation.the floors were only 5 months old when they buckled. The home service store has not given us any resolutions with our hazardous floors! We made the claim in Feb and it is now June! You have to make the contact or no one will get back with you. I guess they hope the problems will just go away. A bit of advice! Good customer service is getting back with a positive resolution. Contractors do not pull permits (of course they don't have a license). They do not stand behind the criminals they send to your home. Thousands of dollars and the tile literally fell off the wall, electric wires were cut (because they were in the way) and left hang bare inside the shower wall! Plumbing was not done by licensed plumber! Almost a year and we still have no bathroom to use and can't get our money back unless we sign a settlement agreement waiving all rights! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. After purchasing granite slabs for a project I was given their number to help with finding a contractor to fabricate them. Long story short, they don't vet their contractors. The first contractor finally showed up 4 days later to take measurements. Mysteriously after 4 days that contractor Fiesta Flooring said they weren't able to do the job. Veronica at HSS told me she would find another contractor that would do it for the same price. 4 days later the next contractor showed up and tripled the install price that was supposed to be the same as the first estimate. HSS joined the group of immoral companies and ignored my request for resolution. I wouldn't recommend these clowns to anybody!! Totally worthless middleman scam business. read more

The Home Service Store doesn't understand what service means, particularly customer service. I've been fighting with them for 6 months now on a bad install and we still haven't gotten anywhere. Their sub contracted installers disputes every finding from the now two inspection reports and the manufacturer and tells me one thing when he is my home to my face but when he reports to HSS the story changes. Trying to get a call back from a manager now for over a week. I've also been passed around their customer service department multiple times, I think I am on my 3rd or 4th agent that is "handling my case" though I am not sure what exactly they are handling since nothing is getting done. Terrible company. FYI, I found out that you pay a 17% premium going through them, that is supposedly since they are there to help when installation issues arise. That's right, 17% of what you pay goes to HSS, the rest to the sub contractor, and they don't even honor the supposed warranty. read more

I had purchased nice porcelain tile from LL and used Home Service Store/installation made easy (Same company) for the install. Company came out to measure and we agreed to start. Contractor no show no calls but rescheduled twice after I complained to installation made easy (IME). Finally thr job starts and when we are 80% done I get a call from IME before the job is completed asking me to pay the balance. They weren't shocked when I told them the tile was installed terribly and they didnt even finish. I get cut off and they forward info to the resolution department. Basically resolution department is garbage. No one calls when they say they will call. IME has said "We will call tomorrow and if I haven't heard anything they will get involed". Problem is IME said those exact words multiple times over a two week span. Usually they call two days later but they always say to wait and then theybwoll get involved. One of the calls I get someone almost helpful and IME suggests the tiler should send an inspector to inspect shoddy worksmanship before sending out people for repairs. Sounds logical. A few days later the tiler calls letting me know he is sending people that day but they no show no call. Its a habit for them aparently. I don't hear from him for another 4 days. We reschedule. Aparently the Tiler won't send inspector out and just wants to send guys blindly to do repair on a job that requires a complete tear out and redo. I hired an independent inspector and 40% of the tile has unacceptable lippage per ANSI guidelines. I got a hack job. Installation made easy resolution department starts reading some script when I brought the report to their attention. Their suggestion was to wait and call the tiler. The tiler started ignoring my phone calls and IME wasn't going to do anything about it. I ended up reversing my credit card charges for the installation and placed a claim against the tile installers bond for the cost of tile and installation materials. The job has to be redone and the tile cannot be salvaged. One star is warranted because installation made easy sent out unqualified tilers for my job and they failed to resolve anything. The only good thing is they sent me a job contract that broke out what the job was for which made it easy to show how the contractor breached contract by skipping a few critical preparation steps that were clearly outlined and charged for. read more

We hired the wood floors installation through lumber liquidators and they forward us through Installation Made Easy. The company send us an installer to get the quote, i specifically told to the guy that we were going to divide the project in 2: upstairs first, since we were living on the basement and then the basement. After a few days I received one email with 1 quote for $5,747 and that was it. As soon as I received the quote I called to pay the full amount and they charged me $4,400 telling me that they remaining will have to be paid at the end of the project So two weeks before we finished the entire project Lumber send me an email to pay the rest, right away I called and they told me that they can't take the payment until the project will concluded Today I received a phone call to do the last payment and instead of the $1,444 that was remaining they asked me $4,400!!! I asked them why and they claimed that they send the quote through different emails, that to start with is so unprofessional. I never received those. So besides that we had to paid out of the blue extra $1,500 on glue, that the company as well as the installer failed to told us.we lost $500 on refund for extra material, and we paid to the installer $600 on cash since he was complaining about the floor conditions So we thought that we will paid $5,747 but the truth is that we have to came up with extra $3,000, plus $1,500 for glue plus $500 of non refundable material and $600 of "extra work". Making a total of extra $5,600!!! The installer was very rude to me, accusing me of trying to take advantage and the installation company said that they are not responsible for it, basically that I have to deal with him on my own. They left us without any financial options just to pay on full and even treat me of taking legal actions This company are untrustworthy, irresponsible, unprofessional. They make not responsible for their contractors and they leave their clients to deal with a mess by themselves. We bought wood floors from Floor and Decor and picked up a contractor listed in their contractor brochure in the store. The installation left more than a dozen hollow spots underneath the wood floor. In order to get this fixed, numerous calls had been made to Installation Made Easy and the contractor to figure out how to fix this. While the contractor lost their original PM and technicians (tried to hide it from us but we eventually found out because the PM and the technicians became out of reach for too long), and used wrong glue for the first couple of times, waffled between needing an inspection or not, the Supervisor of the Customer Solution Department (a woman named Amanda Duchesne) provided little mediation nor professional opinion. The woman was impatient, rude and with very little technical knowledge. Later when we found out that the quote they gave us at the beginning of the project was wrong (the 1st PM they sent failed to recognize that our floor are glued down, not floating, and underquoted us for the labor cost - the half payment we put down reflected that), instead of trying to find out what happened, she threatened to put lien on our property. This is a very unprofessional company. Their people are not adequately trained both in customer service and technical knowledge. I would suggest you find your own contractor, stay away from this rude and incompetent company. I feel that the only thing they truly care about is to collect payments from you. I was given their name from Tile and Décor in the Chicago land area to help find a contractor to install tile. They charge a 25.00 fee for the service. They claim to use professional and licensed people. The guy that was sent out A. E. Tile Inc of west Chicago shows up and brings his son who appears to be about 7 year old to the estimate not professional at all and a huge liability. Right then and there I knew what I was dealing with it took him three days to email me an estimate. When I contacted home service store its called (installation made easy) in Chicago to complain and ask for a refund they told me to deal with the contractor they sent me. When I received a call from the contractor he refused to refund the money claimed he had a long drive to my home and felt he answered all my questions never mentioned the fact that he brought a child to an estimate who is not insured. What would of happened if he got hurt in my home god forbid. If you want non professional people that only care about their referral money and not customer service you came to the right place.
