With any residential job, you're really relying on the trustworthiness, skill, and responsiveness of the principal contractor. Jakub has all of these qualities. For the bathroom renovation in my Upper West Side apartment, Jakub provided great guidance about what my options were (this was a self-design--there was no architect). He also gave me an estimate for the work that ended up being spot on. Jakub has a very skilled work team, and on a couple of occasions, made excellent suggestions about additional things I might do, at negligible cost, to add to the value of the renovation and create an end result that was even better. My once very plain, somewhat dreary UWS bathroom is now beautiful (and far more functional than it was previously). Jakub encouraged me to hold off on determining final bathroom touches until the bulk of the bathroom was done and I had some time to get used to it, promising he would come back for the finishing touches when I was really sure of what I wanted to do. That was an excellent suggestion and he came back and did the final work exactly as he said he would. He has worked on quite a few other apartments in my building and everyone has great things to say about him. I can't claim that the experience of renovating in NYC during a supply-chain slowdown (Fall 2021) was easy. There were delays in getting a few things, and that was stressful--the job did end up taking longer than expected. But these issues were largely beyond Home Solutions' control. The bottom line is that I recommend Jakub's company without reservation and would go straight to them (versus shopping around) were I to do another renovation in the future. read more

Having been through a messy kitchen remodel with another contractor before (to some not-so-good results), I must say I was so relieved and pleased to have finally found a great contractor in Home Solutions INC. My guest bathroom needed some major updating and renovation. I received several quotes to begin my renovation process and decided to go with Home Solutions (whose bid was right in the middle of all quotes) because Jakub (the owner) really took the time to walk me through the entire process and his expertise was exemplary. At our initial meeting, Jakub told me it would take about 2-3 weeks (most likely 3) from start to finish. I'm happy to say that that's exactly what it took. Jakub & his team really seemed to care about the quality of work, they were at our house every day to check on the progress and were always reachable by phone whenever I had a question (and I had many). They always had a supervisor on site for every phase of construction: Demo of the bathroom (they were very clean and carried away the trash the same day), plumbing (I was converting my shower/bathtub combo into a walk-in shower), Tiling, installation of all new fixtures, plastering, and paint. The workers were all on time every day -- every single one of them (from demo to the plumbers to the fantastic tile guys) were professional and great to work with. We recently contacted Jakub at Home Solutions about our apartment renovations. He responded quickly and assured us he could do the following: remove the popcorn ceiling, add new flooring, paint, add base & crown moldings, and replace some closet doors. We chose Jakub because he was extremely knowledgeable, he offered many suggestions, and we felt he was someone that we would be comfortable working with. What a great group this company is. My husband and I have had renovations here in NYC, in upstate NY and in Southern CA. None have gone as well as this one. We had almost enlisted someone we used before but I decided to try to find someone else. These guys could not have been better. Our building was built in 1928. Jakub is an excellent person to work with and stands by his work even years after it is done. The quality of work is very good, and the team is very trustworthy. His team handled so many things during construction, sometimes the material would arrive damaged and they would chase up the company and get it fixed. There have been a few minor issues since construction and Jakub has fixed them without any charge. I seek his advice constantly and will use his services next time. He is a bit expensive. But the horror stories I have heard of more economical contractors made me sure that I made the right choice and I am very happy with the bathroom renovation. Jakub and his team completed a renovation of our kitchen, living room and study 1.5 years ago.
