I did not love this hostel, which is sad because I really wanted to.
First, the positive. I booked a room in a 5 bed dorm and was lucky to get the single bed. I'm a light sleeper, so it was nice to not have anyone rocking the boat. The ensuite bathroom had a decent shower, and the location of the hostel was great as I could walk to everything.
Now, the bad. The bed was uncomfortable... I could feel the springs in the bed. The room I had (#8) was in the front of the hostel and got a lot of noise from the street, especially when the drunk partiers were coming and going. The staff did a decent job about getting them out of the hostel by midnight or so, but they would just hang out on the street and make more noise.
I also had some weird encounters with the staff. I paid with cash and the next day asked to switch to a credit card and got literally laughed at and was told it was too late. The check in guy told me he'd bring me a towel, and when he never did, I asked another staff member who told me it was a $3 fee. The first guy never mentioned that. I also could not find a single mug in the hostel to make a coffee and had to make a lot of requests before they found one for me. They're definitely under-equipped with kitchen essentials.
It wasn't the worst hostel I've ever stayed in, but it just wasn't up to my standards, unfortunately. read more
