In particular, Jessica, Michelle, Maria, Princes and Key xoxo and all the nurse staff provided exceptional care and kindness around the clock care. The physical therapists, Miss Elizabeth and Albert, were outstanding. They gave our mom the encouragement and support she needed to regain strength and independence. While she's taking small steps, we can already see her progress, and we're so grateful for their patience and guidance. The CNA's were helpful, busy, quick to respond, and easy to talk to. The OT and PT's were friendly, experienced, encouraging and skilled. The kitchen staff served hot, tasty balanced meals and would ask me what I would prefer. I felt more at ease and cared for at this facility than I did at the more expensive and higher rated one I had the previous year. It may be a little bit dated, but it is clean and the employees more than make up for any lack in newness. I especially appreciated how well the employees worked together without complaints, arguments, or gossiping in front of residents. While doing so she fell and hit her head really hard against the bathroom door. We called for staff and helped her out. Someone came and with attitude, said they would call an ambulance. We stayed for our family for a couple more hours and noticed nobody ever came back and no ambulance showed up. We fear for our loved one as well as others. We are trying to get her moved. We would not recommend this place. Not saying they are all bad staff but that lady didn't care. And in general they seem uninterested, rather they seemed to be there just to get paid. If a head injury got a minimal response I don't want to think about their reactions to other situations.

Like somehow that's my problem and an acceptable reason for being matter of fact about everything. I waited an hour and a half before they decided to give me pain meds in my I.V. The pain is so bad in my head that I'm shivering to death and there are no blankets, no pillows, no way to control the TV , and no way to control the lights. And I'm paying for this?....WoW!!! I'm about to yank this IV out and get me an Uber back to my truck. I'm over this already. Been here 2 hrs and still know nothing.

He and I both caught Covid there. One of the nurses there had mentioned to me she was just getting over Covid. They sent my husband for dialysis in Deer Park early in the morning but did not pack him a lunch or stay with him. I was going through skin cancer and could not be there. When I got to his room about 4 pm he was still not back and when he did arrive he was soaked in urine as the dialysis facility did not have anyone there to help him to bathroom. He also had sepsis when he got to hospital. He never completely recovered and passed away. Stay away from Sylvan.

It's like they forgot how they got you in there in the first place..... Promises and reeling family members into that SHIT HOLE of a care facility. No one would come after the call button not even her yelling for help. She laid in her own urine for 6 HOURS, and nobody checked on her until we the family members checked our cameras that we installed and found this out. That same night they dropped her in the shower, and she broke her shoulder. It was all downhill from here. She never really recovered from the fall. even after the fall NO physical therapy. She was in better shape before we had her admitted her into Sylvan Shores. Today we no longer have my family member with us after 2 months and if we would have known that this place would not be taken care of her like they said they would, we would have never put her in this place. And she still would have been with us. If you are thinking about putting your family member in this facility DO NOT!!!!!!! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible.
