An 11-Day Stay That Changed My Recovery After a serious auto…read moreaccident and acetabular surgery at Ben Taub, I arrived at TIRR Memorial Hermann not knowing what to expect. What I found was a place where world class rehabilitation meets genuine human care, and eleven days later, I left stronger, steadier, and deeply grateful. From the moment I rolled through the doors, the environment felt different. TIRR's reputation for rehabilitation excellence is well earned, but what truly sets it apart is the people. Every single member of the team treated me like a person first and a patient second. The medical leadership set the tone. Dr. D brought a level of expertise and clarity that made a complicated recovery feel understandable and manageable. Dr. Kaitlyn was thorough, compassionate, and genuinely invested in my progress, the kind of physician who listens closely and treats the whole person. Together, they gave me confidence that I was in the right hands. The therapy team is where the real day to day work of rebuilding happened. Georgia, Suzanne, Kate, Matthew, and Hattie pushed me, encouraged me, and met me exactly where I was each session. They knew when to challenge me and when to pull back, and they celebrated every small gain like it mattered, because it did. The progress I made in eleven days is a direct reflection of their skill and their heart. The nurses and patient care assistants who looked after me are the reason I healed the way I did. Hawa and Daisy brought calm competence to every shift, never rushed, always attentive. Abby and Olivia had a way of making even the hardest mornings feel manageable. Andrea and Mayra were steady hands when I needed them most, and their kindness never wavered, even on the toughest days. Tessa always checked in with a smile that made the room lighter. Jose, the one with the muscles, and you know who you are, made transfers feel safe and easy, and always brought good humor along with his strength. Betsy paid attention to the small details that mattered: positioning, comfort, timing, dignity. Isabella has a gentleness that's rare, and Angela went out of her way more times than I can count. And Philip, thank you for the conversations, the patience, and the quiet encouragement when I needed it. The people behind the scenes matter just as much. Alisha in facilities kept my environment clean, safe, and comfortable, and always did it with a warmth that stood out. Sandra from the kitchen made mealtimes something to look forward to, checking in on preferences and making sure I was well fed and well cared for. These are the roles that often go unseen, and they shouldn't. This team didn't just do their jobs. They went above and beyond. They showed up when they didn't have to. They remembered the little things, how I liked my pillows, when I needed a minute, what made me laugh. Recovery from major trauma is a mental battle as much as a physical one, and these people carried me through both. If you or someone you love is facing the road back from a serious injury, TIRR Memorial Hermann is the place I would send them without hesitation. The clinical care is exceptional. The human care is extraordinary. To the whole team, thank you. I'll carry your kindness with me long after the hardware heals.

I sit here writing this feeling weird, in the best way possible. I have been searching for over a…read moredecade for true relief from a culmination of pain that stems from multiple car accidents, years of sedentary life, and childbirth lol I have been treated, using different chiropractic techniques, medical massages, regular massages, you name it, spending countless time and money trying to find relief. I heard of Graston technique from one of the chiros I went to and a month ago decided to Google that + Pearland and stumbled upon Luna Light Myofascial Release Center. After reading the reviews, I decided I should reach out and give it a try. I am also lucky that I live literally a block from her office. What I didn't realize what I was going to get was a God-send in Susan Luna!!! I booked a 1 hour myofascial release session and the years of neck pain, the years of numbness and tingling down my right arm, only relieved for an hour or a few hours post massage or post chiropractic adjustment has truly been gone since Thursday's session. I literally felt the numbness and tingling leave my arm and it has not returned; really hard to describe what Susan does but it is amazing. I cannot rave enough or even explain that a stick could fix my neck (you'll see if she uses it to treat you lol) but my goodness, I am so grateful I stumbled upon Susan and decided to come. She is worth every single penny.

Like another review stated, I also stumbled upon Luna Light and Susan by accident! The setting is…read morepeaceful, serene, and free of stress and bright lights. The vibe as soon as I stepped into the front office was like a scene out of the old cartoons, where there's a hot apple pie in the window, cooling off, and the steam from the cooling of the pie turns into a long beckoning steam-finger, slowly making it's way to the nose of Elmer Fudd, as it lures him closer by floating him to the heavenly treat at the end. Backstory: I was looking for referrals on a local FB page for post surgical lymphatic massage after my bi-lateral explant of my breast implants, which included total capsulectomy and lift. At the 8 week post-op mark, my surgeon cleared me for starting a detox protocol from the chemicals in breast implants (I had breast implant illness, or "BII" - and yes, it's VERY REAL and Susan agrees). I did a-lot of reading on lymphatic massage when Susan commented on my post. I did some digging about her specialty, as I had never before heard of myofascial release. To anyone reading this, I have NO WORDS to describe the ABSOLUTE MAGIC and relief Susan gave me in an hour's time. This isn't a standard massage. It's not chiropractic. And it's not the type of treatment that requires regular visits (speaking to my experience of course, where I got the John Barnes Myofascial Release treatment from her). Her gentle touch that yielded MAJOR results after just one session is still mind-blowing to me over 24 hours later. I'm definitely hooked! I made my second appointment on the spot, before I left the office. If you're interested, make your appointment sooner rather than later, as she does book up rather quickly (a testimony in and of itself!). I could keep gushing, but please, take my word for it and GO SEE HER! Finally, to further expand on other reviews, her personality and aura is infectious, she knows EXACTLY what she's doing, explains everything as she goes along, and I left feeling like I was floating on a cloud. Bonus: I walked out with both legs being the same length! The technique, like I said, is gentle to the point of wondering what kind of magic is happening here? But, whatever it is, Susan has it DOWN PAT! The John Barnes Myofascial Release technique not only focused on my myofascial system, it addressed lymphatic release as well, so I got me a 2-fer! At our next session, she will be working on my upper- body to flatten out my scars from my major surgery and continue to provide more RESOLUTION of my issues, rather than putting a Band-Aid on it, and having her clients/patients commit to several sessions. In my opinion, the best practitioners are the ones that actually FIX you, and don't keep you hanging on so they can build their summer home in the Hamptons. Call/text the number on her website and get yourself in for an appointment! (To be noted: I DO NOT have a dog in the hunt here. Yesterday was the first day I met Susan and this review is 100% organic and speaking to my personal experience.)

They did a good job working with my mother and seemed to care about their patients. The nursing staff I dealt with was okay, though I think they're understaffed...weekends were worse. I did find out that meds weren't always given when they were supposed to, but it also depended on who was giving it. One would tell me they couldn't get my mother to take her meds and another one would tell me they don't have any problems...??? The aides were a mixed bag. Some are responsive when you need them and some just disappeared if you needed them to do something they didn't want to deal with. Being polite and saying please and thank you go a long way in a place like this. I think some people forget this. At the bottom is the food service. They wouldn't serve my mother's food the consistency and way it was written on the menu. There was very little variety and we were having to bring food in a lot of the time, which is unacceptable. My mother also wasn't mobile, and they managed to let her develop a pressure sore. To summarize, if your loved one is mobile and can feed themselves, and only need therapy, then it's a good place to go. Anything less, I would avoid this place.

After going to the hospital she got better and begged not to go back after they took the trach out but since the insurance was used up she had to go back and we had her transferred to my home town but after the hospital in Victoria Detar almost killed her and the staff there was just as bad.
