My brother booked this room for us with a double queen bed and used his points. The room has a microwave, large refrigerator, a sofa to rest and room is very long and spacious. They serve a nice breakfast too, but I did not take advantage of this as I hardly eat any breakfast. Location is nice as it is walking distance to the convention center and some of the restaurants. They have a park across the street, it was a Pokemon paradise. The downside of why it does not get a 5 star is the bathroom is quite small considering the space of the room. That is the only complaint and I am not a fan of the sliding door for the bathroom, but I know why they have it as they needed to save space. read more

This is the best Hotel in the Valley. Great room, clean and beautiful. Clean pool and designed like a resort. Customer service is 5 stars from top to bottom. Janette from the front seat is very helpful to everyone and goes above and beyond to get her job done. The entire staff love my family whenever they come in town to visit me. The manager upgraded their breakfast and dinner menus just to make everyone happy making it a 5 stars menu. This is the safest, military friendly, family friendly place. I stay there for over a year. The staff here are always friendly and efficient and the rooms are clean and comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement is the happy hour snacks and breakfast, which typically are not very appetizing. Other than that, Home2 Suites is an accommodating lodging option. read more

Super Loud party at the pool. Non stop noise (yelling, bass music, screaming). Staff did nothing to quiet them even past 10pm. I'm never coming here ever again and will discourage anyone else. Home2Hilton gives such a warm inviting feel as if you are at home. We stayed two nights and loved it!. The staff is very friendly and professional but I was mostly impressed with the safety standards they have. They have saniter stations set out and the hot breakfast is set in either portion containers or made for you by order. The breakfast personal also ensured we had a full breakfast even though we showed up 1 minute before breakfast was closed. That's true service. I was also able to try the gym and was given complimentary headphones to listen to my jam since I forgot to pack mine! For convention guests. I'm actually impressed on how clean and nice this hotel is. I've stayed at a couple around the area and they weren't so nice. The rooms are huge and have a small kitchen and living room with a pull out bed. The restrooms are roomy too. Service is great. Excellent in terms of location, customer service, and comfort. I could not have asked for anything more. Located adjacent to one of my favorite hotels in all of McAllen (The Cambria) and across the street from the Rio Grande Valley airport, this Home 2 Suites is remarkably quiet (considering its close proximity to the airport + interstate) and conveniently located to restaurants & additional shopping locales. I greatly appreciated one of the front desk agents recommending the Grubb Hub application due to me arriving at the hotel with an appetite (I didn't want to leave the room that night due to fatigue). The room was up to expectations- clean, spacious, and without the paper-thin walls that echo every little sound or bed vibration. The property itself is private in a way that it feels as if it is surrounded by trees & foliage on all sides (with exception to The Cambria, of course). Plenty of parking around the entire building as well. Certainly one of McAllen's best hotel properties. Will certainly return when down in The Valley once again. read more

I had the privilege of staying at the Home2 Suites by Hilton in McAllen while I was away on work. I called this place home for 45 days, and it really did feel like home to me. The hotel staff quickly became my family away from home. The hotel manager Miriam greeted me everyday she saw me, as did all of the other hotel staff. The rooms are cleaned and serviced daily and the service staff is AMAZING (more on that later). The pillows and bed were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel, and I sleep in hotels quite frequently. The coffee is always hot and available 24/7. The breakfast is good and has a large variety. The gym was always clean and I was able to get a great workout everyday. The hotel is within walking distance to the convention center, great restaurants and a really cool veteran memorial park. I took walks there frequently. The best part of my stay though, hands down, was one of the housekeeping staff, Salome. Salome is such a beautiful soul who takes pride in her work as well as her guest and customer service. She really helped ease the stress of being away from my family for 45 days. I left some things behind in my hotel room on accident (as I just left today), and she already contacted me about those items. She said she will leave them with the manager for me to try and get them to me. I have never experienced such incredible customer service in my life. There are many hotels to choose from in McAllen, but whenever I am back here, I will be staying here. Salome will be a hotel manager one day. read more

What a wonderful time we had this past weekend!! Our grandson had a state chess tournament at the McAllen Convention Center. We are sooooo happy we chose to stay here! This place is so clean, the staff are very helpful and welcoming! I loved that a digital key was available for our phones, no one lost a key :) I want to thank both Victoria and Melanie for such a great breakfast bar! Such yummy omelets, sausage, hashbrowns, breakfast sandwiches and bowls, as well as all the usual stuff.....waffles, cereal, muffins etc. There was coffee available 24/7 and the staff put out cookies each day! We had the king one bedroom suite that was wonderful. My only complaint would be that I like a softer bed but it worked! This hotel is located near so many restaurants, shops etc. Thanks again to all of the staff especially Victoria and Melanie, you all are the greatest!! read more

My family came to McAllen, Texas for a bridal shower for my future daughter in law. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodations were top notch. The continental breakfast was very good with a variety of delicious selections. Guys and girls worked very hard to keep everything fresh and stocked. The hotel is very well located. We really liked the room we had, the cleanliness of the facilities and the convenience of the room amenities. The suite has a very good size, and the furniture layout is perfect. I have two suggestions only: 1) Improve the friendliness of the front desk staff (I understand that it is a Business Class Hotel, but is such a cold treatment necessary?) 2) The digital key did not work in the application, I had no major inconvenience with that, but .... it was the first time I would use it! My recent stay at the Home 2 Suites was probably the most frustrating of any stay I have had at the Hilton Brand hotels. From the get go the service was extremely rude. Ever been greeted with "Yes?". It so warm and comforting makes you feel welcomed. (sarcasm running on overload right now). I had already chosen a room via the app and was assigned a different one because the other room was unavailable. I choose the room for the double the points and because it came with snacks. Well there were no snacks or drinks in the room. I informed the front desk the Jeanette and she apologized and committed to having the snacks and drinks brought to the room. We returned 6 hours later and there was nothing in room. Went to use the shower and there was a yellow stain in the shower stall. When we checked out we informed the gentleman at the front desk of the issues and he said he would leave a note for the GM to get call me about the concerns. No call back, I reached out to Hilton guest relations they also promised a call back. And still no call back. This of course is the last stay at the Home 2 Suites in Mcallen, I hope that you read this review and choose a different hotel in the area. This will only ruin your getaway and frustrate you. read more

This is my Favorite place to stay when visiting McAllen, TX. Staff is kind and their rates are reasonable. My family and I love the quiet rooms. The nice and comfortable bedding. The Towels are white and a new comfortable feel. The water pressure is strong. The pool and the BBQ pit area is clean and works great. Beautiful atmosphere. If you call or come by ask for Luis. He helped us get accommodated and was very helpful. He knows the area and can recommend eateries nearby or shopping centers in the area. Luis is friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Found this gem while looking for pet friendly hotels, and we are so glad we did! The suites are spacious, and the staff is wonderful! Jessica at the front desk was so sweet during check in and check out. They serve free continental breakfast every morning and also have a free social hour in the evenings. I was worried walking in because it was closer to the airport than I thought and I heard noisy planes landing. However, once in my suite, all airport noise was muted and it was a very quiet night. I had a really nice stay here overall. Got a real good price, great location near the convention center and surrounded by restaurants and they have a great staff working. The only negatives was the poor water pressure in the shower and the breakfast area has limited seating and is laid out in a manner that does not flow all that well. But no big deal. read more

This is probably the worst place to stay if you would like a peaceful nights reset. Feeling like turning in early forget it! If your room faces the basketball court good luck! The basketball court has a 10pm curfew and it is consistently used by guests. The bouncing ball sounds like they are bouncing it behind your headboard especially if are on the 1st or 2nd floor. Wait, it gets worse the guests bang the walls of your room with the ball while they play. Who thought of this! Did anyone think to locate this in the parking lot area? Furthermore, the walls are thin, so when you're all done listening to the ball bouncing you can look forward to listening to the big man next door snore his head off. Or you can listen the big foot guest up above you throw his heavy objects over and over on the floor until he gets tired and goes to sleep. This place, regardless of the amenities is NOT worth the insanity going on! You have been forewarned. read more
