I wish I could gIve no stars. I reserved a uhaul truck for pickup after hours pickup. I was held up with the uhaul costumer service operator getting the codes for all of the key boxes. No keys in any of the boxes!! I had movers waiting for me. So I was late because they didn't put the keys in the box. That ended up costing me extra and wasted time with the movers. Bought an older home that needed some TLC. Kitchen and bath remodel's were in order. From design to install my experience was great. For me it was one stop shopping, which I loved. Carpet, granite counter tops, cabinets, tiles they had them all. Lots of samples to chose from and something for everyone's budget. The showroom also has furniture. I had been searching for a couch everywhere and Homeport was able to find one to fit well with my height. So of course something had to come to my house, made to order with my own fabric selection . Had a kitchen remodel done which took about twice as long as it should have. Hired a design store so I wouldn't have to deal with subcontractors. That didn't happen. Ended up firing one of them myself after trying to deal with it alone. After the job was done backsplash tile was seperating from counter tops. After several e mails they said the best bet for me was to repair it myself. $30000.00 later. Also 2 days after job completion owner sent me an email saying they were sending me to collections if I didn't pay immediately. read more

We got four bids for our kitchen and flooring remodel. We selected Homeport, even though they were the second highest bid, because we had never done a project like this before and Pam (owner) insisted that as a licensed General Contractor they "do everything." This was our concern with others we'd talked to that only installed cabinets or flooring - we didn't want to have to find subcontractors or manage schedules, so we felt the additional expense was worth it. The selection of cabinets, flooring, and countertops at Homeport was comparable to the other vendors we met with and did not factor into our decision. It turns out "everything" means something different to them than it does to Merriam-Webster. The new kitchen design had a pantry cabinet covering an existing light switch, which I mentioned would need to be moved in at least two design reviews. When the person assigned to our project was there while cabinets were being installed, I asked her if the cabinet guy was moving the switch or if an electrician was coming to do it. "Do you have an electrician?" was her response - I thought they did "everything" and this particular situation had been discussed. Her proposed solution was to have the cabinet installer cut a hole in the back of the pantry cabinet to allow access to the switch. I'll say that again - she felt that having to reach to the back of a 24" deep cabinet that would be filled with cereal boxes and canned goods to use the switch was a reasonable solution. This was the first time I had to arrange a sub and short-notice electricians are not inexpensive. Let's talk about the schedule. There wasn't one. The only thing with a date defined was the templating of the countertops. Any other mention of schedule was met with a look like I'd just kicked a puppy. Our project took 124 days from demo to completion. In that time we had people at our project on only 14 days. At one point our project manager went 52 days without being on-site and it took her more than six weeks to come see the issues with the stone work. There were numerous other issues along the way, - carpet installers that I'm pretty sure were very, very high - Custom stairs made out of another customer's product - Tile guy took a 5-week hiatus in the middle of the project - Broken fixtures that were never addressed - Items on invoice for which pricing was never discussed I'd also encourage you to acquire as many items as you can on your own - I'm pretty sure they apply a 100% mark-up on anything they order for you. This was true of a quote on a sink, some plumbing components they ordered, and flooring materials they acquired for us. read more

Denise did a great job. She was very experienced and had a excellent sense of design. She also had exceptional product knowledge. I don't think I would have saved any money by going to a big box retailer and got personalized customer service. Denise was as good as a general contractor and the subcontractors she referred me to were consistently good. I wholeheartedly recommend her. read more

They are the least customer oriented company around. I paid a deposit for tiles, counters, cabinets etc but I refused to sign their contract which states no cancellations, no refunds, and no recourse to legal action. they agreed to continue under that condition that our dealings were unconditional. later, thru numerous delays by them and their spec house developer jt construction and design, I cancelled and wanted my deposit back. they argued until they were blue in the face that they were right and I was wrong. they refused to give me my deposit back, so basically they thought unjust enrichment was their right. eventually got a lawyer involved and managed to get most of my money back from home port interiors/options cabinetry and jt construction and design. they will never believe that the customer is king, so save your time, and reduce your stress levels by going somewhere where you are valued. the other reviewers are right, STAY AWAY. i'll try and post a copy of the contract, the tiny print is impossible to read unless you are determined, as I was. read more

Poor workmanship and defective materials. They offered no refund for a botched job. They would not budge or work with me in any way. Instead the owner told me to just live with the countertops that were delivered and installed which were broken and glued back together. :o( Had to hire another company to fix their mess. They quickly put a lien on my home and hired an attorney to fight for payment on an incomplete botched job. read more

I would never consider shopping at homeport interiors again. I contracted to have my stairs and upstairs carpeted and paid in full immediately. After a week I reconsidered and cancelled due to the expense that would be added to the $6800 to move the furniture and dispose of the carpet. This was back in September and I still have not seen a penny of my money. I have contacted them many times with no results, only a run around. For this reason I would not go back there. read more

I cannot believe this place stays in business. I first met them at the home show in early spring. I just purchased a house that needed a lot of updates. They seemed to offer everything I needed. I called 2 times after the show and never heard back. I stopped in there recently because I was interested in having some tile work done and thought I would give them another chance. I met the owner Dave and mentioned twice that I was disappointed tno one ever called me back in the Spring. He had no comment. That should have been my first clue. One would think he would at least apologize. I took some tile samples home and scheduled an appointment for measurements the following week. He didn't show up or even call. I called him about an hour after the appointment time and he said his car had broken down so couldn't make it. We rescheduled for the following week. Once again, I rearranged my work schedule to be home for the appt. He was a no show again! Not even a courtesy phone call!! I still have their samples. One has to wonder if this store is a front from something else because they clearly don't want legitimate business. read more
