Hey my last post was taken down. It goes to show that if you tell the truth, it will scare this…read moreguy. So hey, do not go through this company like I did. They will rip you off and not do any work. And then when you take em to small claims they won't pay. Cuz someone is broke and not paying their insurance premiums. I don't know how the truth I spoke on here got taken down but I bet it's because it hit too close to home. Again, use ANY other company unless you want to be swindled out of a crap load of money!!! Wonder why there's only good reviews? The owner flags em so people think this is a good company. It's not. Wish I hadn't gotten mixed up with this place.

Zack and the team at LVL are simply amazing. Our job was extensive- most outfits would say to…read moreextensive. Well the crew from LVL has had our house for two and a half months - it was a transformation from the basement to the roof. It is beautiful. The attention to detail, the quality of the work- it is unbeatable. They put in a new French drain system and properly sealed the entire basement, creating additional living space for our teen girls. They replaced all the uneven floors and made the entire home not only much more functional- but breathtakingly gorgeous. The problem is then the left the house unfinished, never completing it. Six months later- their electrical work caused a house fire. Repeated attempts to rectify the issues failed until the owner of LaVillaLux just stopped talking to us altogether. Not the best way to do business. Really sad at the outcome.

I can't speak to Craft's construction work, which seems to be well-reviewed, but my experience…read moreduring the design & planning phase was disappointing. I'd caution others, especially those working within a budget, to proceed carefully. Everyone I interacted with was very kind and professional, which I appreciated. However, I ultimately paid $1,500 for design services only to find out that even the most basic version of the proposed build exceeded my clearly communicated maximum budget. I had been upfront from the beginning about what the top of my budget was. I expected that, if the project wasn't going to be feasible within that range, I would've been warned instead of being asked to sign on for billable design work. In order to proceed, I was directed to subscribe to their Design Services package so we could collaboratively plan out the build. I understood and respected the idea behind this process, and I know that thoughtful design is critical. However, all the of the ideas and additions we discussed during those sessions ended up being irrelevant, because they pushed the price point even higher. The final budget presented was based on the most stripped-down version of the original concept and it still came in $6,000 over the budget. The process also felt vague at times. Timelines and deliverables weren't clearly communicated, and progress felt slow and inconsistent. I received a preliminary 2D floor plan and a few low-quality screenshots (attached) for design inspiration, but never a draft schematic design or the kind of direction I expected after several weeks of collaboration. At one point, their billing tool reflected a $1,800 estimated invoice (well beyond the "anticipated" $1,500 that their contract states they believe these design and planning services would cost) with significant work still left to reach a build-ready plan. To be clear, I think the team at Craft genuinely cares and wants to do good work. This isn't a reflection of their character - they were among the most personable contractors I've met. But based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone working within a strict budget or seeking a more structured and transparent planning process.
