Called around to a few stores to see if they had our size. Luckily 5 Stride had our sizes. Yay. We quickly hopped on CitiBikes and rode over. We did not have an appointment but were lucky enough to be serviced immediately with 0 wait time. We tried a few brands before deciding to on our purchase. We took FOREVER to decide brand and color of wheels and laces. Paco (staff) was patient and helpful in making sure we got everything we asked for. We got to the water / domino park (where they hand out the wrist bands) at 8:50am. They start handing them out at 8:30am. NO ONE WAS THERE. We picked out of the bag and got in the high 50's!! I understand they're trying to make it fair. However, the problem wasn't that we pulled a high number. The problem was that at 11am, security let so many people cut the line. Those who had wrist bands and those who didn't. We even saw one of the security guard's give out a wrist band at 11:30am (which they have been telling everyone they wouldn't do after 10:30). That person is already in the store and we're still waiting in line. We're so upset and refuse to come again on a drop day. FAIL BY SECURITY. Go to the Manhattan store. Don't waste your time at this location. Unfriendly staff when you're paying an arm and a leg. I would give it 0/5 if I could. We were regulars - here 2/3 times a week. No longer will we do that.

I wanted to like this place (even gave them a positive review after the first repair they did)…read morehowever I cannot stand by a good review. The poor reviews this place has received are warranted and accurate. My experience -- I dropped my bike off on the 19th was told I would receive a quote for the repairs. Initially the ballpark quote was around $100 and these repairs were *necessary*. 12 days later no word from them. I tried calling just their phones aren't working. When I told the guy working that the phone lines were down he just shrugged his shoulders saying "yea they're down. No repairs done after 12 days and now the cost of repairs was $150. I was pretty pissed at having to physically come in to the shop to get a status update on my bike. Regardless, when I told them I wanted to take my bike without having them service it they charged me an ASSESSMENT FEE(?!). I've been riding bikes for decades and have never been charged an assessment fee for just having a repair shop look at my bike. Isn't that what they're paid to do? When I took it to another (read: better) bike shop down the road they too laughed at the idea of an assessment fee. I hate this place. I have spent hundreds of dollars in the last three months at their shop and they are constantly looking at ways to up charge me. In the end, the other bike shop said my bike was fine and needed zero repairs. As stated earlier, the negative reviews you see about this place are spot on. I will never return and I encourage all bikers to visit Bike Plant or another -- literally any other bike shop -- in the area.
