This is my review of Homes Direct, a mobile home dealership in Mt Vernon,Wa. I have been working on getting a mobile home for over a year, with two other mobile home dealerships without success and with a lot of complications and delays! If you're thinking about buying a home from here, DON'T. Go to Westgate instead. You have a choice, make the right one. Homes Direct The sales people are very friendly, they are so reassuring and lull you into thinking you're in good hands. You are NOT. Once you make a deposit/payment things go downhill fast. If you think you can tell them once and assume it'll be done - FORGET IT. You need to scrutinize EVERY revision, both on the plans AND on the list. DO NOT TRUST THEM TO GET IT RIGHT. Took over a year to get the home, but that really wasn't the issue wit this retailer, since it was COVID and supply chain issues caused delays. Just another annoyance about them because they never provided a correct estimate on timing. And forget about them honoring warranty or standing by any type of quality of work. No, they won't sign HUD forms for VA financing. And once the home is delivered, if you have punch list items, forget it! Westgate Homes of Oak Harbor Did a walk through with the 2nd owner (the first never lived in the property) and honored a 1 year warranty (required per WA state law anyway). They fixed items on the punch-list and signed the HUD warranty form for the buyer to obtain VA financing (after the house was set on the lot). What a difference, huh? read more

My wife and I purchased a home from Roxanne Reyes at Homes Direct around October and we have been living in it for 2 months now. It was delivered in April. We LOVE our place and Roxanne is a big part of that. First of all we got to design how we wanted the layout which has been a homerun all the way and we love the adds that we did. Roxanne suggested little touches that we didn't even think about and we totally appreciate the fact that she did as far as functionality and storage. Second, this is a long process, and your first design might not be your last design. Roxanne helped us through these challenges to get to where we wanted to be with our end product. She was a great liason between us and the manufacturer to make sure that all the details were locked in. Third...Roxanne was a great in between for us and the contractor that was assigned to our install, took care of transport and made sure that we were taken care of till the day it dropped. Lastly, this is an emotional process, with both highs and lows...this isn't like buying a car off the car lot the day you purchase it....there is alot of hurry up and wait, there are unforeseen circumstances, and general challenges that come up as in any stick built or manufactured situation and she really helped us get though it with her energy, positivity and honesty. We love her...she's the best and recommend her to anyone looking to get into a home like this. I can't forget Heather Smith who is the person who takes care of the finishing details of the house after it's dropped. She is a busy gal with a slew of installs going on and really goes the extra mile. Contractors are slammed and she still gets them scheduled in to make sure that all the punchlist items get taken care of. She's easy to get ahold of and she's always great to talk to on the phone and super understanding of whatever situation comes up. Her job is a thankless one and she rises to the occasion. Just a side note for anyone embarking on purchasing a manufactured home...or just any new build of any kind. This is an emotional journey as I said earlier. It just doesn't happen overnight. You are not the only person ordering one of these homes and there are going to be good and bad surprises and some fulfilled and unfulfilled expectations. There are going to be phone calls answered and some not and your persistence AND patience is going to be required. After looking at this type of home from Spanaway to Bellingham we finally stopped here & not only found the perfect home at an amazing value, but we found a customer service experience that was amazing! There's no sales pressure but someone is right there for questions. The general manager Mark Adams made us feel like family. We won't buy from any other dealer now! He was even giving us tips to save money even though it would cut into his profit! Happy home ownership is the #1 Goal & it shows in each employee! Absolutely wonderful experience! read more

My experience in purchasing was get. It was after that I am pretty upset with. I can't get anyone to finish my repairs. They make a trip do a few things and say they will be back and then they will not return till I call them again. Will say that Sandra office manager is awesome. If I can't get anyone to contact me or come back I can email her and I get phones within hours. read more

We had been working with the manager of Homes Direct, in Mt. Vernon, Wa. to have a custom built manufactured home placed on our lot in Port Angeles, Wa. since March 2019. We decided on a Golden West model, that was 30' x 52', 3 bdrm/2 bath. After about 2 months the manager let us know that the factory in Albany, Or. had accepted our house plans and he would have a price for us in a couple of weeks. Then the manager called us to tell us that he had contacted a contractor for the site prep work they would be calling us to give us a bid. We never received this call and when I called the office to speak too the manager he never returned my calls. Then I decided to go online to find out who the owner of H0mes Direct was in Mt. Vernon. Wa , to file a complaint. Guess what I found, the registered owner of this dealership was none other than, Clayton Manufactured homes, Corporate office, at 5000 Clayton Rd., Maryville, Tn. 37804, so this is were I will send my complaint letter. I sent a email to the manager at Homes Direct canceling our project with them and requesting a full refund of our good faith deposit. We received our refund in about two weeks We never received a reply from Clayton Manufactured Homes, Corporate Office, but I did get an email from the manager at Clayton Homes in Lacey, Wa. telling us that he could help us. We called him to set up a meeting. Before we met with him, I looked on the internet to see how many brands Clayton Homes had under the Corporate umbrella and there were 18 brands. One of them was Golden West, so I thought we might be on the right path to get our project completed, as the factory was in Albany, Or. When we met with the manager at Clayton Homes in Lacey, Wa he assured us that they could successfully complete our project. He told us that he would send our house plans to the factory in Albany, Or. About 4 weeks later we get a call from the manager, telling us that the factory has accepted our plans and he will have a price for us in a couple of days. Then he tells us that he has contacted a contractor to meet with us in Port Angeles, Wa. We meet with the contractor and he tells us that he will have a cost for the site prep in a couple of weeks. He call us back in a couple of weeks and gives us a price. I am very shocked by his high price and the only thing I can think of, is that he does not really want to take on our project, thus the high price. Now we get on a very slippery slope. With the manager telling us that our house plans had been accepted by the factory, we decided to put our home in Shelton, Wa up for sale. It sold in 4 days and we had 30 days to move out. We put all of our house hold items in storage and moved in with my brother for a month while we looked for an apartment to rent in Port Angeles, Wa. Then the manager of Clayton Homes in Lacey, Wa calls us to tell us that the factory has decided not to build our custom home. I cancel our project with Clayton Homes. We move into a kitchen unit at the Sportsman Motel in Port Angeles, Wa and spend two months there before we find an apartment to rent. WE still do not have our retirement home built and placed on our lot, but we will try again in the Spring of 2020. All we received from these two dealerships was a lot of lies and broken promises. If you are considering buying a manufactured home in the future, these would be two dealerships I would recommend that you pass on. read more

Went with my family earlier today, on Monday the 28th of January, and looked through the homes, taking a tour with Mr. Rob O'Connor. The homes looked great and the prices looked even greater. Every place looked nice, the office looked well kept, and Rob was very polite and professional. We will be doing business as soon as possible. Highly recommended! read more

WASTED TRIP AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! We are looking at manufactured homes to place on our property. We currently live in Snohomish county. Today my husband and I drove up to Mount Vernon to have another look at a mobile we liked at Direct Homes. We arrived about 15 minutes before 4pm and had been in one of the homes for a few minutes when a gentleman came in to see if we needed any thing them informed us that they were closing " a few minutes early for the Seahawks game today". When I told him we had come back to have another look he told us we could have "like another ten minutes" but he was locking up the other homes. That was the home I had wanted to see but my husband had wanted to look at another one. By the way they don't close until 5:00 on Saturdays. Too bad we liked it because we won't be back. read more

At first it was a wonderful experience. But, once I closed on the purchase of a home, it has been a nightmare. I closed on my home 10.21.16; I still do not have my home. I was promised my home would arrive 6-8 weeks after the order; still no home. I call and get no response. I have been told 3 different dates for delivery of the home. i realize that weather has been an issue, but it is now March. My home was completed in the factory in early January. It has been sitting in storage. The last contact I had I was told it is now up to the trucking company. There is no effect to keep my informed. I feel like they are avoiding me. cancelling the order is not an option because it would take longer for a different home to arrive. Bottom line i that if I ever do this again, I will NOT be going to Homes Direct. They have done nothing to keep to their promises. They still get their money but their customer service and their follow through is deplorable. read more
