Then the pandemic hit. My CSA had to find another avenue to fulfill their quota, since workplaces shut down and they could no longer support the hub-site pick-up model. I signed up for Hungry Harvest in a panic, not knowing how I would get food on my table, and I am SO GLAD I DID! HH has been fantastic! The quality of their produce is excellent. I love the flexibility of their customization option. I love the marketplace add-ons. I love having eggs delivered to my door every week. I love all the OPTIONS they provide me with. PLUS, I feel like a real do-gooder knowing I am helping reduce food waste. I am so grateful for the assurance of having a box of food delivered to my door every week. The delivery has been spot-on. For the past four years we've been enjoying long seasons (mid-May to mid-November) of high quality, fresh vegetables, and trying out many varieties of salad greens, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, squash, cole crops and radishes. The small share is more than enough for two adults. John and Thera are community-minded, always welcoming, sharing their knowledge and inviting members to participate. Somehow they manage to find time send out periodic newsletters to update us on recent improvements on the farm, the impact of the weather on various crops, and about the new baby goats. My family feels very lucky to have spotted them at the New Easter Market and found that they host their own CSA as well. They are Certified Organic through PCO. If you aren't interested in an entire share of their produce but want a good local alternative, stop and see them at the market on Friday's. The farm is only minutes off 24 in Felton. Very easy to find for CSA pick up. They also work with local restaurants.
