All is fenced in, and includes quite a few benches for humans to sit. My biggest gripe is that there is a dog bowl, but no way to fill it with water. Being high desert, I'd expect that there would be a way to get the dogs some water. Luckily I brought my own, and suddenly became really popular with all the other thirsty dogs begging for water. I realize that's a luxury, but with a dry climate, I guess I thought there'd be some way for them to stay hydrated. There are lots of trees, so the area is well shaded, but completely dirt.

Not my first book for laying out and relaxing because I personally prefer more variation in elevation/terrain, but nice for a big green lawn area and the biking path.

A cool feature of the playground: It's shaped like a pirate ship, and it includes a bouncy plank! There's a small shaded picnic table area with maybe 3-6 tables. There is a water fountain and port-a-potties. Parking was not easy on 4th of July. There was no dedicated lot, and the park's located in a busy residential area.

During one game, the goalie from one team attacked another player by shoving his head into the wall and punching him repeatedly. The guy that got attacked walked right by us with a beaten face, which scared my kids for obvious reasons. I was concerned about the way Cascade Indoor Sports handled it by letting the instigator walk out among the crowd. I can understand a game getting a little heated, but this seemed criminal. Trying to reassure myself and the business I've given Cascade through their kids programs over the years, I asked my husband if this happens often. He and no fewer than 6 people around me from other teams immediately replied that type of behavior was very common for the team on the field. Two people had their own personal stories of that team using their fists in past seasons. It became clear in that moment that Cascade doesn't care about fostering a fun and SAFE environment by the people they allow to do business there. I will not be subjecting my children to that level of violence and behavior.

So be aware that at first glance you may not think it is very big. There are several playgrounds here and even a little basketball court. This park has restroom, drinking fountains and even a trail that takes you to the canal road, though its important to note that is not a public trail. This is a great little park if you are in the Old Mill and may find the other parks too crowded for you and your family. Though the parking is very limited, so keep that in mind.

We like to walk here once in awhile, just to get a little exercise. It's got playground equipment, a basketball court, a couple walking trails, and a mini mountain biking area that would be good for kids or beginners. Lots of grass for pets, as well. I think kids probably sit and drink up on the elevated walking path, because we saw a bunch of trash and cans up there. Other than that, it's a cute little space.

After visiting Smith Rock State Park. we stumbled upon this wayside/overlook where you can enjoy…read morevertical basalt cliffs and secenic river canyon over the Crooked River in Oregon. This spot is on the boarder of the Deschutes and Jefferson counties. This stop is located just 9 miles North of Redmond or 26 miles from Bend on the US Route 97 where this a rest area and viewpoint with tons of parking. Facilities include restrooms, picnic tables and dramatic viewing of the Crooked River Canyon from the pathways or the bridge. For photographers this is an amazing place to get a shot of the Crooked River Canyon and surrounding areas. You can also walk across the historic Crooked River High Bridge just north of the park. Three historic bridges connect both sides of the canyon, unfortunately only one can be crossed today by pedestrians. Two of Oregon's tallest mountains- Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson are visible from the viewpoint on a clear day. Fun facts: the park was named in honor of Peter Skene Ogden who led the trapping parties of the Bay Company back in 1925. Worth a stop to take in the views and enjoy part of history!

Anyways onto the real reason we stopped, we went here at the end of August. Made our way here after Smith Rock which was only about 10-15 minute drive, it was a beautiful sunny day, the view was breathtaking both ways. They had bungee jumping on the bridge when we went so that kinda blocked a bit of the view but was really cool to watch.
