Called HomeTeam and the inspection was performed 2 working days later. The inspection report arrived the day after the inspection, was 23 pages long with color photos. It had clear, concise explanations of all concerns, damages and positive factors. On 2 separate occasions, a few days after receiving the Report, I had to call HomeTeam for additional information about 2 "damage areas." HomeTeam called me back within a few hours and provided me with helpful, clear information and advice. I had a full house inspection and wood damage inspection and I thought their price/charge was very reasonable. I recommend this company and I would use them again, if the need arose. read more

We purchased a home in Ft Myers and had Home Team Inspection Services do a whole home inspection including the roof. They used a drone to inspect the roof and reported no problems whatsoever. Subsequent to that inspection I had a vialbe roof repair service look at the roof to install baffels on the vents. They discovered no less than 7 glaring repairs that had to be made in order to prevent leaks. The repairs cost me an additional $1750, which I will not be able to recover due to Home Inspection's term and conditions that imdentify them for any responsiblity for defects. There were 3 inspectors on site and they all fail me. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone in the future. read more

I had a terrible experience with these guys a year ago, as detailed in my previous review. I recently required a new inspection as I'm changing insurance agents, so I used another local inspection company. The new inspector found multiple electrical code violations that were present a year ago when "Home Team" did their woefully inadequate sleep walk through my place. I've paid thousands of dollars repairing items that SHOULD have fallen on the seller, had "Home Team" had a clue. How these guys are still in business is a mystery to me...there are plenty of other companies who actually know what they're doing! Again...if Yelp allowed a zero star rating, that's where I would put them. Stay away! read more

The men onsite were great, very professional and helpful. While they needed to get things done, they were still interested in speaking with us along the way, and they were great when it came to re-capping what they found during the inspection. Overall the experience was great. We actually had to have two inspections done. On the first, they found an issue with the AC system, when we went back to the sellers and they brought the AC firm back to check the system we learned that it would cost $4,700 to fix. The sellers were not going to pay for all of the fix, so we cancelled the contract. Home Inspection saved us all that money! We found another property and used them again -- this one came up clean!! My realtor recommended Home Inspection Service. The men where nice and polite, and, for the most part, did a decent job. My concern was after I closed and moved in. First the ceiling fan in my Master bedroom did not work properly - no lights despite even replacing the bulbs. The one man came out a few weeks later, agreed it should have been noted and told me he would replace the light kit. That was December 2018. I called the office, told I would get a return call and never have. Then when I went to open one of my windows, I found there was a broken piece laying on the sill. Had they tested the window they would have readily sighted this broken part. These may seem minor and I know they state they are not liable for items unfound, however these should have been caught. I would received a credit or new fan from the seller and the window repaired. My biggest concern is that I still have not heard from them, as promised, since December which is poor customer service. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Completely unprofessional, aggressive, and yelled at me for asking how to access the air filter. Was done in 30 minutes and cost $300! WOULD NOT LEAVE PROPERTY WHEN I ASKED HIM TO-- after aggressively yelling at me... he (who was the owner of the inspection service himself- Bill Jurek) said he would not leave because it was not my property. They missed a Chinese drywall sticker on my attic ceiling that had no insulation on it. I had to pay $335 for a drywall test. Rated hot water tank a good and working. Zero hot water when we moved in. $795 for new hot water tank Don't waste your time and money with this company. Find anyone else read more

I used hometeam services 2yrs ago when purchasing a home in cape coral. The inspections passed without any issues. I have decided to sell my house recently. Hometeam came back upon buyers request and hometeam did another inspection. You would think it would come back as no issues since the house was well maintained. However one of the indpectors decided to tell the buyer that he sudpected chinnese drywall because he saw some corrosion on some of the wires and now the buyer has decided to backout of the because of this ridiculous allegation of the house having this chinnese drywall which was a mistake on hometeams part. I have called hometeam numerois times and not once did the owner apologize for them costing me a seller from buying my house. I Will Never use hometeam again and anyone who decides to try them hopefully they will not screw up your home sell. read more

I just paid $400 for an Inspection to purchase a home in Cape Coral. I had 3 guys come out who went thru the home in 40 minutes. They didn't even want to stick around to tell us the report as it was not so important to them. I am sorry but I have had inspections before and I have been a Realtor...all Inspections Reports are at least 47 pages long and not cut up to 13 pages by the Owner. I always had one person do it and they were sweating through everything. These guys breezed through everything and when asked about an item...it wasn't their job to lift a finger to figure it out. Boy are they well trained. Yes Mr. Owner...you have the Realtors and others in your pocket and its obvious that you like to do the snow job on everyone but you are not going to do it with me. Every Inspector gives you the Report instantly but I had to wait 24 hours for the Report and wait for the Owner to arrive so he can do the clean up the report basically....It looks like all your reports are a snow job with a few thrown items of noted repairs. And yes to the reports that mentioned about customer service. I have phoned to ask to speak to the Inspector and left a message. I never received any return phone calls yet the Inspector told us not to hesitate to phone the office. I still did not get if the standing light fixture outside is working...oh but wait a minute...of course I will not get a return phone call because the Inspector missed it. I am so sorry that you wasted my $400.00 but never again. read more

I was referred to Home Team Inspection Services and was very satisfied with their report. A professional for different areas (e.g., plumbing, etc.) came to the appointment and contributed to the final report which was very clear and addressed all systems in the condo (e.g., plumbing, electrical, etc.). Any area of concern was clearly underlined which really helped to draw my attention to issues. Based on their recommendation, I requested a new water heater from the seller. I was not able to be at the property and my agent was able to meet them and oversee the inspection. read more

We hired Home Team to inspect a 2 bedroom condo we were purchasing in Estero in January. This week we had our fist guests, and the first use of the guest bath/shower. The tub did not drain at all, in fact it took a whole day for it to finally drain. How such a basic inspection item can be overlooked is mind boggling. Now instead of the seller paying for a plumbers service I will have to. STAY AWAY from these franchised operators, they are useless. read more

Have used Home Team for years in my real estate business and have been VERY SATISFIED with their service as have my buyers. Bill Jurek and his team inspect together so the whole inspection can be done in an hour typically but still be very thorough. Each inspector has his specialty and then they combine it all into one report. They take all the time necessary to explain to the buyer (and the seller as well if present) their findings and how to correct, if needed. I wouldn't have been using them for 20 years and putting my reputation on the line if they weren't true professionals! read more

Wow, did HomeTeam ever miss important items when inspecting the home we purchased. A secondary, 5 ton AC unit with only a handful of vents on it -- roared like a freight train, and had to be replaced with a 2 ton unit -- $6K unexpected expense. Noted in report as working within normal parameters. Old copper pipes with ample evidence of repaired leaks and heavy corrosion if you just pull back insulation in the attic and look at it. Complete re-piping needed, $7K unexpected expense. Not noted at all in report. PureChlor system on pool checked off as working; "check cell" light flashing and previous pool service said hadn't worked for about a year. These are just our unexpected defects missed in report and corrected afterward in first 90 days, no chance to use in negotiating final price. I wonder what else they missed. read more

I forgot to mention if this company would have told me there were future issues with the AC and the Subzero, I could have easily negotiated with the seller and countered back $10,000 less. I pointed out the fan blades were very rusted along with the grate cover. The the AC that is being replaced had a lot of duct tape that I questioned. I am a Senor Citizen, I guess the moral of the story is "You are never too old to learn a lesson" I'm living proof! read more

I was the seller on a property in North Fort Myers where the inspector walked on my tile roof and put holes and cracks of about 22 tiles and admitted in the report that he walked on the roof. This bum costs me 500.00 Even the roofer in this 2nd inspection had said so. Avoid if possible. You get what you paid for I guess read more

I had the home inspection, termite inspection, and wind/hail mitigation report. I liked the 3-person crew each working on their specialty area but also working closely as an integrated team. All 3 were thorough, showed great attention to detail, prompt, courteous, efficient, professional. I appreciated the verbal summary at the end of the inspections including showing me the problem areas up close, and then the detailed written report with photos via email the next afternoon was very complete. The wind mitigation report saved me ALOT on my homeowner's insurance. Note that their fee is lower than some because their financial liability is capped at the cost of the inspection fee amount only. read more

Stay away from Home Team Inspection Service!! My wife and I recently purchased a 3 - 2 and 3 days after closing noticed we had a roof leak... I inspected the roof, and had a roofer inspect the roof and we both concluded that the roof was too flat for asphalt shingles (which by the way wasn't to code). It was extremely obvious to see the roof was too flat, by the way. How this can be missed is beyond me, well maybe it's because the actual inspection only took them about 30 minutes to complete, so to say they weren't thorough would be an understatement. I then contacted Home Team and talked to their "roofing expert" Bill. Bill was extremely rude, and even hung up on me. He never once acted like that was something they should've caught, but instead blamed the city for not catching it 5 years ago. I hire home inspectors to catch these type of issues and warn me, not blame some other party for something that happened long before I moved in... I'm not sure how they can call themselves professionals. Very disappointed with Home Team. Save yourself the trouble, and don't hire these hacks! read more
