During the theft, in which my car was left on rocks, damage was done to the car, with dents where it looks like they had used their body to leverage the wheels off. When I contacted State Farm, they were very good about replacing the tires and wheels. The tires, had been a month old, and due to the cars age, they insisted n going through the dealer. I indicated I would have been ok wit Tirerack, but this was handled well. Happy with their tire/wheel recovery team! The damage to the car, was another story. The local underwriter is very bad at assessing damage. When he came out, he wanted to deny the damage, and accused me of the causing the damage. I showed him pictures of the car, from a recent car and coffee event, and even showed him work I had done, on my dime, to a damaged rear bumper that most owners would not have touched. The body shop, Connans backed me and said the damage was consistent to what they had seen with other wheel/tire thefts without proper jacks. As Connans also services Tesla's, I was told that State Farm engages in denying claims, insisting on repairing instead of replacing parts per OE repair instructions. I contacted Kelley Potter, who said they would check into this, and they would call me back. They never called. I called them again, and they finally sent a different under writer who agreed with Connan's assessment. We now have our home and autos protected by an insurance company that treats the customer with respect, and follows OE repair recommendations.

I'll admit, I called very emotional and I just was not sure what to do and was feeling really upset with the world because every phone call I was making that week was ending up the same cycle: I call, someone picks up to metaphorically/physically roll their eyes over the phone, be unhelpful and move on. Not with Cari Hammer though - Even through the emotional outburst I just couldn't control anymore, Cari was not only able to help me through the issue she could directly make an impact on but she also restored some faith in humanity and community. Frankly, she just did her job and went the extra mile by providing an empathetic voice and ear to me. In that moment that was all I needed/wanted. Overall, I just really appreciated the care that I received that day, so much so I wanted to make sure I left a good review before I forgot about that experience.
