My 1.5 year old son has gotten most of his vaccines, but I don't believe in giving him Hep B, Covid, or Flu. Hometown pediatrics sent me a letter stating that because I won't give my 1.5 year old son ALL vaccines, they will no longer see either of my children. The best pediatric care in The Woodlands, TX. We love Dr. Hathaway is absolutely amazing. She truly cares for our toddler as if he was one of her own children. Pros: Office/Scheduling: 9 times out of 10 we are able to get a same day appointment, which is extremely important for our family since our toddler goes to daycare. Please note: For same day appointments you may have to see one of the other fantastic doctors in the office in lieu of your main pediatrician. Either way you're in excellent hands. Care: I can't stress this enough, my wife and I never ever have a problem with the attention to care this facility provides (especially Dr. Hathaway). We've gone through the wringer with ear infections, COVID, strep throat etc all while being under 16 months old. At every step of the way, Dr. Hathaway always had the remedy and educated us every time. Location: The location of this facility is spot on! It is nestled between the feeder of I-45 and Grogans Mill Road. Overall our experience has been phenomenal (been going here for two years) and we have not run into any "cons" to list. Dr Hathaway & Dr Mei are great!!! Both of my kids have being seeing them for about 4 years. They are detail oriented and caring. I have been satisfied with the doctor's at this location. However, as mentioned in several other reviews, the front desk staff is extremely rude. When speaking on the phone they come across as short and uncaring- exactly the opposite of what you expect when you have a sick child. Worse experience ever...I am writing this after a year. Writing this after my baby had awful reactions after the multiple vaccinations administered at one time for our boy. I don't understand why for an infant would they administer 5-7 shots at one time for a 2 month old when their immune response is so low. Me as a new parent again didn't know myself that this can cause adverse reactions. I came back multiple times after he developed horrid skin rashes under skin bubbly rashes. He also had mucus diarrhea for 3 months and could not gain weight!! They kept dismissing my claims. Did you know Rotovirus (is feces?) my boy developed parasites after being injected with this shot. I reserved writing this post, but after watching my baby suffer for almost a year and still recovering his poor little body I thought more parents should be advised and should ask more questions as I didn't at first. Save some heartache. They totally dismissed my concerns at this office. Had switched 3times to finally find one that understood. Btw not all babies are alike we are all genetically different and each child should be monitored differently not just a $$$! btw for "Covid" measures, their office is pretty dirty. read more

My son has been seeing Dr. Kristie Chandler since birth, and we have always had a pleasant experience. What I really like about this place is that Dr. Chandler really spends time with us, asking about symptoms, exterminating my son and giving us clear instructions on what to do. I don't feel rushed when I'm there, or confused once I leave. Another big plus, the nurses are always nice and caring, specially when there's shots or vaccines involved! read more

I have never experienced such a rude front desk person ever! If that is the first person you see and talk to at this office, I am afraid of what lies beyond! I highly recommend that a more compassionate and friendly person be put at the front desk. I immediately decided not to have my child as a new patient there. There are much better choices in The Woodlands. After talking to many friends at my child's school, I found out they had experienced the same rudeness and chose not to become patients there. My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Chandler since she was born. We have always had a pleasant experience and positive interactions with the nurses. Dr. Chandler has always taken time during appointments to get to know my daughter and really know her personality, any symptoms and explain developmental milestones. Dr. Chandler and her office helped us transition into speech therapy as well as get referrals for any specialist needed all while we are in the office. When I was pregnant I looked into a bunch of doctors offices and since Hometown was recommended to me I read a ton of reviews. Boy am I happy that I decided to go here. My daughter is now 7 months old and I ADORE this office. The fact that they have separate sides and check ins for "sick" and "well" patients is WONDERFUL! I absolutely love Dr. Moore and her staff. She is so sweet with my daughter and really cares my daughter loves her. I love that they dress in casual clothes so it doesn't give you such a clinical feel. The nurse is so fast when it comes to vaccinations by the time my daughter gets upset. It's all over! I recommend them to everyone. If you're looking into a new pediatrician. Check her out. You won't be disappointed. Update - 12.18 I have since had my second daughter. My first is 19 months old and my second is 2 months old and I still HIGHLY recommend them to EVERYONE! We love Dr. John and all the staff at Hometown Pediatrics. We never spend more than a few minutes in the waiting room and we're always seen quickly by Dr. John after seeing the nurse. We've been able to make same day or next day appointments when needed and the nurses are great at answering questions over the phone. read more

Do not see Dr. John! Took my daughter in at 4 months old in because of a rash starting and her armpits and neck roll were raw, swollen, and red.. He glanced and said put cetaphil on it and keep it dry.. Which makes no sense bc cetaphil is for moisturizing skin. He also made me feel stupid for coming in for a small rash! Why would I wait for it to get big to come in? And he did not even exam her.. Her ears had excessive amount of ear wax and if he would've checks like he was supposed he would've noticed! She is now 10 months and I took her in for a last minute apt with dr Moore and she told me if snot color turns green or white and if she developed fever, to bring her back in. The next day, green snot, and running 103.6, and bc it was a last minute apt we had to see dr john again. I came in and he said still just a cold... So why does dr Moore tell me to bring her back in if I see these symptoms and still just hear, it's a cold. He told me to alternate Tylenol and Motrin and pretty much wait 5 DAYS and if she still has fever bring her back in. Mind you she went from no temp to 103.6 within, less than 24 hrs. I'm no doctor, but that high of a fever for that long can cause seizures. 2 copays later, with Tylenol and Motrin that is now no longer keeping her temp down, I think it's time to go to a different pediatrician. However her doctor, Dr. Gonzales, is great! Unfortunately, I can't ever see her when I need to. She stays pretty booked and I need an emergency dr that is also great. The only reason this place gets any stars is bc of dr Gonzales. read more

I have been taking my children to Hometown Pediatrics for 3 years. Although we have seen all of the doctors at one point or another, Dr. John is my favorite. He relates very well to children and his nurses are extremely kind and have gone out of their way to help us on holidays when my children got sick. The only way i would be any happier would be if i could book an appointment online instead of having to call. However, all of the wonderful staff who after three years call my children by their names make this a wonderful place. read more

Well, to update my review I must advise that Dr. Gonzalez left this practice about a year or two ago. As my first review said, that is why we left the last pediatrician's office. However, we chose to try the new physician who replaced her. Well, we just thought Dr. Gonzalez was great with my son (who is 4 now), but the new doctor connected with him in such a way that we were very surprised (he can be a handful and hates getting his ears touched at all - first visit was ear infection of all things). I cannot recommend Dr. Sarah Moore any more highly! She is unbelievablely great with kids and trying to put them at ease.....even the difficult ones. There has been only twice we have had to see another doctor due to her being booked once and on vacation the other. So, I miss Dr. Gonzalez, but Dr. Moore is just as good and we couldn't be happier! read more

My kids all see Dr. Wright at Hometown Pediatrics, and all three of them are super comfortable with him and I love him because he is so gentle and thorough. My kids range in age from infant to 12 years, and he is always patient and helpful, taking the time to make you feel like you are not just a number. He has a dedicated nurse, so the kids also have a chance to get comfortable with the nurse, as well, which helps with shot administration. The office staff is very helpful, and it is very easy to get an appointment. We have only ever had to see one other doctor, and he was also very good. The office is beautiful and the waiting area is huge with a clearly marked "sick" area and check in, so you don't feel like you're right on top of a bunch of germs. There is also a breastfeeding room in the waiting area, for mothers that need that extra privacy. Can't say enough good things and I tell everyone I know that's having a new baby to go here! read more

We have been going here for over 14 years. Great nursing staff and although we normally see Dr. Chandler, I am always happy to see any of the other staff. Having the well and sick check in areas is really nice. I've never felt rushed or not had all my questions answered. Would highly recommend them to any friends or family with little ones. read more

Can't say enough good things about Hometown Pediatrics!!! Sometimes the little things seem so big to a first time mom that aren't always that serious. Every time I have called they have always been able to work my daughter in without making me wait a day to get in. My daughter had blood coming out of her ears on a Friday afternoon @4 and I called Hometown Pediatrics and they had a doctor stay after closing time to fit me in. Hometown Pediatrics is AWESOME!! My daughter has always received the best care through Dr. Chandler and Dr. John. A few years ago I received a call from my daughters daycare stating she had blood coming out of her ear. It was a Friday at 3:30 and I was thinking great they are getting ready to close. There is no way I can get her to the doctor in time. I called Hometown Pediatrics and they advised I could bring her in immediately. Dr John was kind enough to stay and see my daughter. Not to many places these days has that kind of customer service. It says a lot about the kind of Dr.'s they are and how they care for there patients. Most kids hate going to the doctor. My daughter doesn't mind going and absolutely loves Dr. Chandler. I appreciate the time Dr. Chandler spends with us and makes sure all of our questions are answered. Never once I have felt rushed. I love them dr Moore is as sweet as they come. Everything is so simple and easy and they have always been very supportive.

We relocated to the woodlands and tried this group as a pediatric group for our four kids. When you walk in there is a glass window which had a woman on the phone. she shoved a piece of paper at me, then slammed the window shut. I was not there to be seen (which was the form shoved at me) but to hand in the forms and medical records for my kids, so I knocked on the window. It rolled back and she said "What?!" I explained that I was there to hand in medical records and she rolled the window shut in my face again. Eventually she finished her phone call and rolled the window back. I wasn't really thinking this was such a nice place and told her that she seemed to be unhappy to be dealing with me, had I done something wrong. "No" was the answer and she took the forms and rolled the window shut again. About a month later I had my first sick kid. Same thing, windows rolled in my face. Then they were unhappy that I did not have my medical card on me, and I pointed to the medical information page in front of the receptionist and said that the number was right there if she needed to verify. I was told that it is policy that you have to being it to each visit, and I responded that since this was my first visit I was unaware of the rule. After watching the receptionist just starting to enter the data in the computer, I sat down with my sick kid. Once in the room, which had a brown pleather bench that smelled unclean, we were asked if my daughter had a fever. We said that we had not taken it. The nurse did not take it. The doctor (Dr. John) came in 35 minutes later asked if my daughter had a fever, we again answered that we hadn't taken it and he did not take it either. He did a brief exam and pronounced that she had a cold. Then he said the office coordinator wanted to speak with me I handed my paperwork and told that there would not be another visit. At this point, having lost my patience I responded that it surely was as we only go places with friendly staff and doctors who remain somewhat on schedule. Then as I opened that door, the staff which were all standing there listening like little children scattered. I had to laugh. On the way out I opened the window and told the receptionist that I truly had not seen such an unprofessional, angry office in my life. The response was a hearty laugh and a "have a nice day" Do i recommend this place? Ummm...not in a million years. We have moved ten times in 15 years and even my 13 year old said as we walked to the car "mom, those people were weird" Out of the mouths of babes!! read more
