And we sure found a good one in Hamden on Friday. We saw refrigerated cases full of pastas and raviolis, counters with trays of pizzas, showcases with trays of prepared foods like sausage and oeooers, eggplant rollatinis, and seafood marinara, a sandwich counter for cold cuts, and a baked goods counter. We narrowed our want list down to three very different items. We bought two slices of their sausage pizza, two garlic knots, and three eggplant rollatinis. The pizza was fantastic! Super thin crust, plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of cheese, a very good sauce and delicious sausage chunks. Oh, and the slices were enormous. We made a dinner out of the eggplant and garlic knots. The eggplant was sliced so thin, and was so soft and tender, it resembled lasagna noodles! The rollatinis were loaded with ricotta cheese and marinara sauce and it was a fantastic dish. We split the three rolls and let me tell ya, one and a half rolls were plenty for dinner. The garlic knots were ridiculously loaded with garlic, not teeny tiny shavings, but big hunks of garlic cloves. Needless to say, they were fantastic as well. Our total cost was $24.66, and Sapori threw in four complimentary slices of fresh Italian bread with our order. We really loved Sapori a lot.

I was looking for a sweet treat in the area and came across Mighty Donuts and let me tell you it…read morewas absolutely amazing. As of today I've already made the drive twice to get donuts here. The menu has plenty of options with the ability to customize literally everything to your liking. I decided to get a 12 count mini donut with cinnamon sugar, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, and cinnamon roll drizzle and it was phenomenal! The spot itself is super cute inside and it's located in a mini plaza with a couple other things around. They have an entire wall dedicated to a chalk board that you are free to write on. As well as a plastic axe throwing board that you can entertain your self with while they prepare your donuts. Both times I've gone I only waited about 10-15 minutes for my items to be ready which was super nice. I would definitely recommend this spot to any donut lovers!

You'd better study the menu in advance, because there are over 20 choices including Dulce De Leche, Pistachio, and Maple Syrup. #3 - How about a sprinkle of toppings over your iced drizzle? How about choosing among 15 possibles, including Biscoff Cookie crumbles, Chips Ahoy crumbs, and Fruity Pebbles? The base price for donuts without a drizzle or a topping is $4.75 for a half dozen. You can go up to a 40-count bucket for $20. Charges are extra for the drizzles and toppings. We picked up a box of six mini donuts with various drizzles -no toppings - and were charged around $11. And honestly, that seems high because a six-piece sampler with drizzle and topping included was listed on the menu at $7. So, something weird happened at the register and we missed it. The service was great under the circumstances, because there was just one person working there and she was dealing with our order and two prior orders simultaneously. We saw her making shakes and making donuts for the other two parties between the time we ordered and the time she started making our order. From the time we walked in, to the time we walked out, it was a 30-minute experience. Accordingly, I did see some improvement opportunities for increased staffing and clearer pricing. The donuts were great -super cute and delicious. The store is cute too, with plenty of color and graphics. The donuts are made to order, so be sure you get close to the left side of the counter and see your donut dough dropped into the hot oil, float downstream, get flipped over, then dropped onto a cooling tray.
