I stopped by Homies Donuts after hearing so much about their pizza donuts, and I had to see what the hype was about. I ordered the Hot Honey Pizza Donut, and it was really good. It had the perfect balance of savoury with a little sweet kick from the hot honey. I also grabbed a cinnamon sugar donut, which was delicious. I ended up taking it home and having it with a scoop of ice cream, and it was such a great combination. The service was fast, and everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. My only suggestion would be to offer a creamy garlic or ranch dip for the pizza donuts. I think that would take them to the next level. Overall, a fun and unique spot that's definitely worth checking out!

This place just opened and I was so excited to visit it after seeing their huge, colourful donuts on Instagram and TikTok!!! I loved the vibe of the store which captures the colourful fun of The Simpsons TV show. I especially loved the real-life recreation of the donut withpink icing with sprinkles that Homer likes to eat! They have 30 delicious looking donuts and buns and I decided on trying just one, the Dubai Chocolate. It looked so decadent and massive! And it was so delicious! So soft and a great balance of chocolate, pistachio paste with lots of the crispy kataifi on top! I definitely had a FOODGASM with each bite. Service was fast and friendly and I look forward to returning. So much to try on my next visit!

Wow! Talk about going back to basics with the donut. We tried the popular Creme Brulee and the Apple Fritter donuts and fell in love. The Creme Brulee is light and fluffy. The Apple Fritter tastes like a fritter! Interestingly not as sweet as other donuts. Staff are friendly and helpful as there are many favourites to choose from. The interior space has a few tables if you can't wait to eat your donut, and arcades to play on while you wait. Be prepared for a queue! The price is reason at $2.33 for classic traditional donuts and $3.33 for favourite ones. Can't believe we have "real proper" donuts in this city.

Really happy to have this spot in Scarborough! The donuts are huge and there's a great variety of flavours to choose from. I also love that they have seating available and retro arcade games to play while you enjoy your treats. Service was super fast, and everything was fresh. Definitely a fun place to visit when you're craving donuts!

    Selection of doughnuts at Homies

While out and about I saw Homies beside my favourite breakfast place. Homies is a higher end doughnut shop with a selection that would make Homer Simpson drool with longing. I popped in to see what was what. First off if you blood sugars can handle it a dozen is your best option. Since I did not want my Libre 3 to explode I selected two of their assortment. I chose the apple fritter. A standard fritter with an apple compote center. The other, after much deliberation, was the Strawberry Cheesecake. 90% of the specialty doughnuts have a traditional base of a round vanilla doughnut with a hole. Toppings range from Skor, Oreo, to Maple Bacon. Dietary info was on the screen but a local doughnut place with a red sign will have some competition. My assessment Apple fritter: a decent fritter. I like mine with almost a sugar glaze shell. The interior was dense but the delicious apple compote balanced that out. Strawberry cheesecake: I was kids of disappointed. I might have swapped the way too much icing sugar with graham cracker. I find too much icing sugar to be the equivalent to glitter. The stuff gets everywhere. But the doughnut seemed dry. The interior was two streams one strawberry and the other a cheesecake like frosting. It didn't taste like cheesecake. A big disappointment. If I graded each separately the fritter was a 4/5 and the cheesecake 2/5. Hence my average score.

Quick service , fantastic variety and options. Really enjoyed ! Will be back ! Donuts are awesome !

Had driven by previously and was in the area Victoria Day weekend. Decided to drop by and picked up a box of six. Order: Homers, Crème Brûlée, Choco Crunch, Boston Cream, Maple Bacon and Skor. Hot damn, they were all really good but the Maple Bacon was an absolute standout. Smokey Bacon and Maple Glaze is just the perfect combo. Will come again in the future. Really curious about their pizza donuts.

I ordered the glazed, cinnamon sugar coated and sugar coated doughnuts they are so fluffy and big and well risen and perfect amount of sweetness. Another time I ordered cookie monster doughnut which just tasted like a regular frosted doughnut, Homer's doughnut which tasted like a regular frosted doughnut, creme brulee doughnut tasted too burnt for my liking, chocolate sprinkles was delicious but nothing special, lemon meringue doughnut was tart and delicious, strawberry cheesecake doughnut was so delicious, fresh tasting and perfect amount of sweetness. The oreo doughnut was packed with oreo flavour and creamy. Dubai chocolate doughnut was delicious with crispy kanafa, and birthday cake doughnut was delicious. Overall the frosted doughnuts were a little bit too much for me. I prefer the glazed, sugar coated and cinnamon sugar as they weren't too sweet!

Homies Donuts is yummy spot to check out in the east end. The fresh, massive donuts with tons of creative flavours that actually feel worth the hype. The deigns and flavours are greatly paired too, from cookie monster inspired to Dubai chocolate. The selection is perfect if you love over-the-top dessert vibes, from classic glazed to loaded specialty options. Great for satisfying a sweet tooth or grabbing a box to share. I got the Dubai chocolate inspired donut and loved this take on the popular trend. The only issue I had with this venue was that the entertainment was playing too loudly. It was difficult for staff to hear orders. Other than that it's a cute spot to check out.

My friends and I stopped by Homies Donuts before close, and while they were slowly shutting things down, there were still a fair amount of donut options to choose from. I chose to get the cheesecake donut and the chocolate kunafa donut. The cheesecake donut, to put it in short-- is the donut that tim's hortons used to make their raspberry powdered sugar timbit. It tastes basically identical, down to the jam filling, and basically tastes like a big timbit. The chocolate kunafa donut is one of my new favourites. Not only is the donut dough moist, chewy, and not super sweet, but the ratio of the chocolate and kunafa topping was a perfect balance, and is a winner in my books. Great donuts, and great ambiance (retro games, comfy booths). I'd go back just for the kunafa donuts

I went twice in the last week... here's an overall opinion... the basic ones aren't great and a lil dried out... the pizza one was so dry I could barley chew it... also make sure u check your box because I asked the girl that was working where my donut holes where she said they were in the box! I opened the box and showed her they weren't in there... then she says oh did I charge u for them? Like idk ‍ I asked 3 times for them sooooo.... Now the good!!! That crème brûlée was amazing!!, the apple fritter was super good!! Best apple fritter I've probably ever had to be honest! The Dulce de leche was very good too! The strawberry shortcake was amazing! And the maple was very good!! Just make sure u pay attention to what's in your box because I was lied to and so was my best friend and they didn't even know we were together... sooo all in all I'd say get the more decadent ones and it's worth, personally I'd stay away from the basic ones...

Boston cream donuts, creme bruleee, sprinkle donuts
    Holly G.

Brand new and delicious!!! Went I. The morning and they had everything prepared. Got 6 big donuts for $20. Boston cream was delicious and they did not skimp on the filling. The sprinkle donuts had fruit flavour in the icing and really elevated the donut experience. The creme brulee was the best out of all. Word of warning eat them quick because they won't keep for long. However, they are so good they will be gone in no time.

Very clean and spacious with a modern menu (QR code to see the menu). We shared a waffle and I had a hibiscus lemonade. The waffle, not like regular waffles. It was more of a cake batter waffle. This was very good. We opted for the mango ice cream one and the waffle is covered with some white chocolate curls for crunch and a drizzled sauce. There was some cut up fruit. The waffle didn't feel heavy and it was very easy to share. Hibiscus lemonade was refreshing but a bit to sweet for my taste. I'm sure when I come back I can ask them to make it less sweet. There are tons of options for drinks, hot and cold. Quite the selections of teas, and if I was a bit hungrier would have probably gotten a milkshake (roughly $10) Prices are fair , waffles are about $20 and are big enough to share. The person taking our order was great with lots of options and was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was attentive and checked on us regularly. Would definately go back to try some of the other items on the menu that looked delicious as well as the desserts and cakes that are in the window at the front on display at the counter.

If you're GF Not Worth Jumping Through the Hoops…read more When I found this place online, I was so excited. When one must follow a gluten-free diet, it is so nice to find places where you can eat what everyone else gets to enjoy. This was anything but enjoyable. I was planning a little Halloween getaway to Kingston and searching for a new and exciting breakfast place to stop on my way there. I found Heaffles and read through their website--I'm always very careful and vet my restaurants before the trip and plan food meticulously, you have to when you cannot eat gluten. The site stated that if you want a gluten free waffle, you must call 24 hours ahead of time. I immediately thought that was ridiculous (that eliminates any possibility of a GF person walk-in from eating there) but messaged them on Instagram. I asked if I could message then and schedule or did a I have to call. They told me I must call the day before. Pain in the bum, but I set a reminder in my phone and did so. The next day, I show up. Such a cute place and the breakfast that kicks off a trip always makes me so happy. We don't eat out much at all, living so rurally. It had also been ages since I'd enjoyed a GF waffle, so excitement was high. This place has a ton of potential. The seating is cute, the bathrooms clean and so beautifully decorated. There is even a little cubby with cushions that would make it feel as though one was having breakfast in bed. I really did fall in love with the space. There didn't appear to me to be a traditional server comes to your table. You walk in and place your order at the counter. I ordered a Flat White to drink along with a water and a gluten-free coconut rush. The young lady at the counter was very quick to tell me that they had a customer coming in to get a GF waffle and that they only had enough batter for one waffle and that I would need to try again and call 24 hours beforehand. Right before I told her I was that customer, my brain was like, what? You have enough batter for ONE waffle??? I make GF stuff all the time. It is NOT that expensive. And what if you mess up that ONE waffle (and they did because she didn't listen to me)? I said, "Oh, I called yesterday." And I had driven a very long way. I would hate for anyone else to do that and end up disappointed. After that, I was allowed to order my waffle. Coconut is my favourite sweet flavour, but it came with strawberries and strawberry syrup. I told her THREE times I didn't want the strawberries or the syrup. Strawberry jam, jelly syrup...I hate them all, also cannot stand cooked fruit. She told me she could put the strawberries on the side and that they were uncooked. I said that was okay, but reiterated AGAIN that I do not want or like the strawberry syrup. I thought I might get my drinks at the counter, but she said they would bring everything to my table. I sat within view of the counter by the window. I assumed, as at most places, the drinks would come out first. I had started on the Terra Health heartburn kit to kick my PPI script and needed to take the supplements before eating. Some ladies came in after me and they got their drink order while I sat and waited. The waffle came out, and I was too panicked by not taking my supplements to pay that much attention and told them I needed some water and that I didn't have my coffee yet. They came back in a few minutes and in the meantime, I saw that the waffle I'd paid nearly $30 for, along with a very tiny flat white coffee, was drenched...every inch in yucky strawberry syrup. I'm a silver lining kind of girl, so I told myself to try it, maybe my tastes have changed. Nope. It was this strong, chemically strawberry flavour that made me gag. Talk about disappointed. At this point it was late in the morning and I was starving. I opened up the waffle (the size, even if they'd managed to listen to my order was not worth what I paid) and ate some of the filling out. The only waffle that had no nasty syrup was at the fold and I ate the four bites I could. The coffee was literally 3 swallows. I left hungry and angry. And in all that time, no one ever came back to ask me how the order was...and I knew I couldn't send it back because that was their ONE GF waffle batter of the day. I had to stop at Wendy's and spend another $10 for a bunless burger after. I would never go back. The ask and not having the batter available is beyond RIDICULOUS, despite the fact they don't listen, which makes a GF person VERY nervous. You couldn't pay me to eat there again. Poor service, poor value and food I couldn't stomach. Not for me.

I had no problem parking in front of Bontea and heading inside. A woman greeted me. I let her know that I had an Uber Eats order. She fetched it from the fridge and handed me a nicely branded paper bag. I thanked her, wished her a great evening, and headed to my car. I immediately had the white chocolate raspberry bar. It was excellent! If you love raspberry gelato or anything raspberry, this bar is for you. The white chocolate was subtle. This bar wasn't sweet. I still dream about the bar. I need another one! The following day, I brought the Thai milk tea tiramisu to share with a friend at work. It has more mascarpone than lady fingers. It's like a decadent mousse with bonus lady fingers. We both loved how it tasted like having Thai milk tea, but in dessert form. It was light, yummy, and full of flavour. The lady fingers were perfect. Each container of tiramisu runs between $22 and $25. It's on the pricy side, but it is worth treating yourself here and there. This place is grab-and-go for both desserts and bubble tea. There aren't any seats to sit down and enjoy your treats. I'll definitely head back for more tiramisu and gelato bars. It took a while for me to finally give this place a try.
