Just had brunch, so even tough we were full, we really wanted to have some donuts from COPS, the sun was sunning and there was no line, life was great! We were welcomed right away as we walked in, though our tummies were full, we still were able to squeeze in a little sweet treat a quick look at the menu as we walked in and picked a 6-pack of cinnamon sugar. Grabbed a seat along the bench (no tables) and we nommed on a couple before we were on our way again. I can say the donuts are amazing when eaten fresh, but they also taste pretty great even if you're not able to enjoy them right away, so definitely check them out if you're in the neighbourhood!

The founder is the same (he's also the founder of the Burger's Priest). Their donuts are also available at Farm Boy, even as far east as Ottawa, which is actually where I tried them (since sadly the last time I was in Toronto, was before the business was founded). I tried the Chocolate Cream Filled ($3.99) which is a big fluffy yeast donut with chocolate on top and is filled with whipped cream. It's like a round eclair, lol. The layer of chocolate was thick, which I liked. The amount of whipped cream inside was also good, not stingy. These donuts are big and substantial, yet so soft. I'm a fan. Compared with the real artisanal donuts I have tried elsewhere, these don't feel particularly unique. I've ordered the Nutella Bomb, Crème Brûlée , Boston Cream, Strawberry Cheesecake, and the Strawberry Maritour. They all seem to use the same base donut, cut it in half, add a bit of whipped cream and fruit, then switch things up with different glazes or a sprinkle of icing sugar. The result is a lot of "same donut" with a similar texture and overall mouthfeel, just with slightly different flavors. Sadly, I would not go back, simply because when you spend $45 on six donuts, you should expect good individual uniqueness, and I have had better-made treats with far better value for the price elsewhere.
