I would like to say the service at this branch is wonderful. The staff is friendly, chatty and attentive, but the orders tend to get mixed. We witnessed a diner receiving chorizo in Vegetarian Avocado Toast, having two bubble & squeak when none was ordered, getting the sauce in the burger after requesting it to be served on the side, chips were seasoned when plain chips had been ordered, etc. If this happens, they will replace it and tend to give you a discount as well.
The food is a hit and miss, and the wait is almost always long - 25-30 minutes. Their brunch is really not worth ordering. This is not a place for brunch. If you want one, go to the nearby cafe. All except toast and egg are pre-cooked, and the bubble & squeak is too herby and the texture is too dry (not cooked properly). The beans are just way too garlicky and awful to eat.
When we ordered medium Honest in January, it contained some sinews and a small piece of bone, and the middle of the patty was raw. We also did not like their salty rosemary chips; they had way way too much rosemary, overpowering everything and spoil the taste of a burger, so it might be a good idea to order them plain.
After a shaky start, they hired new kitchen staff, so the burger is better now. But Chicken breast in Chicken Burger had a weird texture and did not taste like chicken. So my recommendation is to order well-done Tribute without (raw onion and) mustard (I hate French's - it tastes just vinegar and turmeric) but with tomato, and the burger sauce on the side (so you can dip your chips), and plain unseasoned chips. They also offer great offer for students: 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks for £15. read more
