Went in the back and it was the groomer of the 2 small dogs, 1she had on the table. I poked my head in the room and told her yelling sctraming at the dog isnt going to calm it down. The dog on the big bed was so upset by his buddy getting yelled at he was upset. The groomer told.me to leave amd slammed the door in my face. I asked the clerk at the check out if she heard what was going on and she said she didnt and didnt seem to care and never asked for any info. I went back waited for over 45 minutes and told the owners what happened and they were grateful. They said the tan dog is so sweet and loves everyone but doesnt like its toes touched and the groomer did tell them what i said to her.but didnt mention the yelling and cursing.​ I will try to contact the owners of the pet store as maybe this is a contractor working in their store. Anyway, it was so upsetting to me and the dogs I just had.to say something. Because if you see something and don't say something, you're just as guilty as the perpetrator.

While my pup had some mild matting (as I was upfront about), I was told she needed to be sedated by a vet--an alarming overreaction that now feels like a cover for incompetence. When I picked her up, she was unevenly chopped up and visibly distressed. I spent most of the night trying to fix the mess myself--with just scissors, patience, and YouTube tutorials. I'm not a groomer, but even I could do better. Your dog deserves more than a rushed, careless hour. Maybe they were having an off day--but that's not a risk I'd ever take again. Tons of fun walking and running around with the dogs, helping tidy up the facility, and just being a helping hand wherever someone needed. The staff and other volunteers were all incredibly kind! Everyone was on the same side, and they were very supportive and helpful. Whether you want to get involved in volunteer work, or just want to spend some time with some great animals, I highly recommend the humane society of Wicomico county!
