This was our breakfast place while we were staying at the Ash Street Inn. This is an adorable cafe with a backroom that transports you to the past and feels like an English tea room. Except for one morning, the music was old style and delightful. Everything has a taste of honey unless you ask not to have this sweet addition. My husband loved yogurt with candied pecans (which are made there) and the fruit yogurt. I loved the crispy bacon, and plain scone which was exceptional. We tried lots of other goodies and were always pleased. The servers are so helpful and always willing to make things to your taste. read more

Lovely experience taking my visiting parents here for something a little more special than the usual cafe. Tea and dirty chai latte were exquisite. The tea cups and silverware were so pretty. Tuna salad sandwich with chips and ambrosia salad was good, deviled eggs were great as well! Potato waffle was unique and looked really good too! Tomato soup was a bit sweet for my taste but that's just preference. Lovely atmosphere and our server Sammy took great care of us. Had a wonderful birthday afternoon tea service here with my mom. Beautiful tea room, great selection of teas (the walnut green tea was a favorite). The prix fixe afternoon tea menu had all the sandwich hits and the scones with clotted cream, jam, and home made lemon curd were my favorite. We were certainly very full by the end of the three tiered journey. The women running the place were all exceptionally welcoming and generous. Everyone present for the 2pm tea service seemed to be having a wonderful time. The mimosas and champagne everyone else was having certainly looked very tempting! For my love's birthday, I booked a high tea at HoneyCup. The tea room is elegant, nicely decorated with it's own bathroom. It's an experience and at first blush, it's impressive. It was our first time attending high tea. The service was attentive and friendly. First impressions were quickly negated. All the other tables had menus; we had to ask for one. While we could have as many servings of tea were available, you can only drink so much. The finger food came on an elegant three tiered plate, they were tiny. I found the noise level high and distracting. Finally, the experience was over priced. My experience should not deter you from attending this location but be aware of the cost and budget accordingly. And dress accordingly. Respect the experience and the attempt by the owner to make this an exciting outing. read more

A friend and I went to the afternoon tea service yesterday and it was wonderful! We loved all the food, tea selection, and decor. All the staff was so welcoming and offering to take our photo. The bottomless tea was a very pleasant surprise. I highly recommend checking them out. They currently offer afternoon tea service on Saturday and Sundays at 2 PM by reservation. A friend suggested this place to meet for tea, so happy she did! The ambiance is very speakeasy vibe, without the alcohol, although I think I maybe saw a sangria or mimosa on the specials. Very quaint and welcoming. You can sit in the cafe and order or if you're looking for something a little fancier, they have a tea room with service. Great selection of teas and baked goods. Also a small selection of breakfast and lunch items as well. The frittata I had was delicious (potato, basil, peas, red onions) and my friend really enjoyed her overnight oats. And there was only one girl working clomping through the tea room back and forth in a rush which left the environment anything but feeling calm to enjoy tea. This is a beautifully decorated tea room in a lovely older building. The furnishings and decor are perfection!! The staff are so friendly and helpful and made me feel right at home. There is a good variety of teas from which to choose. I had the White Velvet tea which was quite lovely. Each of the tea sandwiches was freshly made and delicious! The service was absolutely fine. The place is pretty, but faded grandeur, dusty and dirty. The plastic table cloths were filthy, pen marks, and tea cup rings. When I mentioned it to one of the girls, she said I was the only one to complain, and that they washed them once a week, and pen marks were inevitable. I said the bread was stale on my sandwich (I didn't eat it), and the tea was weak and Luke warm in the teapot. It was loose leaf tea that they put in a teabag, made the tea to what they thought was right, and took the teabag out, so you couldn't adjust the strength. I'm British, I know tea. She told me they weren't there to impress me, they were there to impress Americans, ( I was flabbergasted). The tea and sandwich was awful, tablecloths, filthy, and one girl was so rude. The ambiance gets 4/5. The tearoom is set up nicely with classic decor and china. Points were deducted for the show tunes that was playing rather than genuine classical music. The service also gets a 4/5. There was only one server in the floor so everything took long ... the first set of tea, the tiers of "food", any additional requests. Follow up was few and far between. A point was given because the one server was very personable during interaction when she did come over. Plus one of my party had a nut allergy and she was very attentive regarding this. The food gets a 2/5. This was so disappointing. The finger sandwiches were all on cold and soggy white bread. They all tasted like they were made early in the morning and then just refrigerated until served. The pastries also seemed stale. However there were sizable portions of everything. The tea choices were exceptional though...flavorful and served hot. It almost redeems the rest of it. read more

Went for my birthday to the 2 o'clock tea. It was a wonderful time. Lovely tea room, wide variety of teas, lovely food choices and a nice selection of cocktails authentic to the tea. We also enjoyed the musical selection in the background. This is not a hurry up and eat time, rather it is an opportunity to savor conversation and small plates. First time visiting and we adored this place. It is beautiful and so cozy. We really enjoyed just relaxing, sipping tea, and admiring the decor. The tea was lovely. We tried an apple cinnamon scone and cheese danish. The scone was not great, more muffin texture than scone and dry. The danish was good and we would order it again. We also ordered the charcuterie for two. It was very cute in presentation and is such an appealing idea. I really want to love it and say I would get it again, because it was so fun to nibble and sip. But neither of us felt like it was a good enough value to order again. It is described as having an assortment of upscale cheeses, dates, pecans, crostini, and salami. There were untoasted slices of bread, which were good, but actual crostini would have been a nicer touch. Our plate was missing the pecans completely and had way too many dates. Half the dates should have been pecans. The cheeses were: 2 small wheels Brie, cubed Gouda , cubed sharp white cheddar. Delicious.. BUT a suggestion would be to cut the amount of Gouda and cheddar in half and have one other mild soft cheese besides the Brie. It was just too salty with that much Gouda and cheddar. Definitely missed having the pecans. And for the cost of the dish, I would want to see one other item.. maybe some type of chocolate or a few chocolate dipped strawberries. Just some suggestions, but as is we would not order it again. Will most definitely return though and try the sandwiches and just enjoy the lovely atmosphere and kind employees! Super cute in there with couches and little antique tables and of course pretty tea cups. Great ambiance except a little chilly in there. My girlfriend and I and people around us kept our coats on. They also didn't have any lemon on hand and sandwiches were very slim on the meat. Chips seam homemade and yummy and served with ambrosia, a nice touch. Server and staff was very friendly. Unique place. I know they are fairly new. Hoping the feedback will be helpful. We will give it another go soon. read more
