We had a wonderful dinner here tonight! The hostess and our server were so friendly and nice. As a long time server myself, I rarely find myself saying that service was above and beyond. I have no idea why this place has such great reviews. Seriously. I had been waiting to try this place since we moved close by, and we happened to be nearby a couple of Sundays ago, so we thought, why not try it- there wasn't a line. That should have been my first clue. 11 am on a Sunday and now wait? First - the menu on Sunday is incredibly- for lack of better words- blah. IHOP is more creative. Actually, even McDonald's is. (They are both better too). On to the food. One of our party ordered a three egg cheese omelette, she asked for 3 cheeses- yes we knew it would be more money- she was very specific- Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone. My Dad and I ordered Patty Melts- he asked pink or no pink-which means they don't cook to temp. So I said- as much pink as they allow? The omelette comes with nothing- without the extra cheeses it is $12.99 - it comes with NOTHING. No toast, no home fries- not even a sprig of parsley. Ridiculous. Home Fries are an additional $3.99- um. No thanks. The omelette gets there and as I am watching her eat it I realize that I do not see any white cheeses in the omelette. She doesn't say anything and finally she pushes it away- and I said- did that have the Swiss and Provolone in it? She said I don't think so. So I pull it apart and the only cheese we see is cheddar. I tried for at least 10 minutes to get the servers attention- he hadn't been back since he served us - so I finally have to call him over loudly- which as a former server I HATE doing- but, maybe he should have checked on us? I asked him about the omelette and he said he had ordered it the correct way, and I pointed out the orange cheese and no white cheese- and he said he would go as the cooks- that honestly annoys me as it shouldn't require you to ask cooks as you can plainly see it. It's just common sense. So I said well- you can actually see that there is no other cheese in the omelette. So, of course he calls over the hostess to help him. Dear God. She comes over- he runs away. She asks what happens and I explain- then I say he said he had to ask the cooks, which I don't understand as he could see it himself. She said "What do you want me to do, spank him"? Are you kidding me?! I kept me cool and said of course not, but he is a server, and should be able to use common sense, and not have to ask the cooks. She said she would take care of it for us. By take care of it she meant take off the $2 we paid for the cheeses she didn't get. So yeah- the service - there was none. The Patty Melts were a joke, toast not grilled bread. Oh, and they definitely went with pink- as in raw on one side. I just love a passive aggressive cook. So- other than bad overpriced food and horrific service, the place is cute inside, but yeah. Never again. read more

We had an after-holiday family gathering catered by Diz's. It was fantastic! Meatloaf, chicken parmesan, and American Chop Suey, were our choices. They came with all the sides you could want a large salad that included an assortment of dressing and croutons as well. There were a couple of food restrictions that had to be considered, and all were accommodated with ease. To start off we were welcomed in by Sam and an older lady who made us feel like family returning back for thanksgiving. I was in a big group of 8 with a variety of orders. I got the chicken strips which was under the starters but it was a big full basket of more than 5 chicken strips marinated in pineapple and brown sugar so slightly sweet on the inside and crispy on the outside, super tender and juicy, 100% recommend. She apologized and said there was confusion about whose table we were. The service after that was okay though. The menu is great, with lots of options. I tried the Boring Billy Bacon Burger. Such a sweet and lovely place! "Mrs. Diz" greeted us warmly, and our waitress Madie had such a beautiful way about her. The food was great too. Both of us got entrees with buttermilk fried chicken, which was light, had a nice crunch, and was lusciously juicy. I got Mac and cheese with mine (yummy and very very cheesy, with green onions and bacon that added delicious flavor and texture). My wife got a salad. No idea how they cooked them but boy I passed by this place the next day and thought about them. Customer service ROCKING! They gave me a cute little chalk board sign and when they brought my food they didn't take it away. It had my name on it and I felt like I was an important person finally having a seat at " the table". We all know what table I mean. If you don't.. this comment is NOT for you. A friend and I stopped in just after noon time on a Tuesday, late August. The place was bigger than I thought it would be, tables were well spaced and there wasva sign at the front stating, "seat yourself." There was an one occupied table, so we grabbed one aga8nst the wall. We ordered root beers, a pulled pork sandwich with fries and a bowl of beef stew. The service was friendly and fast. The sandwich was hot, tasty and well sauced. Fries were good as welll well. The beef stew was a little thick, but had plenty of potatoes, but no carrots which was a bummer! We went to Diz at a relatively slow time, so it was a more relaxed atmosphere. It was clean and we had our choice of tables. The service was great, quick and she followed up with us regularly. The main star was the food. I got the Mac and Cheese with Buttermilk chicken and it was delicious. My coworker said that her Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were also delicious, and that the espresso martini was one of the best she'd ever had. The portions are ginormous though, so be prepared to take it home with you. Thankfully our hotel had a microwave, so we didn't have to throw anything away. Prices were great as well. My husband and I visited Manchester NH (ftom California) for a Hollywood Vampires Concert and we happened upon this quaint country style cafe for breakfast. From the welcoming and cool front entrance to the extremely friendly greeting from all staff upon entering, we thoroughly enjoyed this establishment. We felt like "family" immediately upon entering. The menu had lots of yummy options. I chose French toast with fresh berries and it was delicious. We also noticed some of the staff members wearing the restaurant T-shirts that had all sorts of monthly activities on the back. What a fun idea to embrace community interaction within their establishment. I wish that I lived in that area to join in on some of their monthly themed events. I'm sure that it takes some work to get those coordinated, but they said that they were very well attended by the community. Anyway, this, California girl love this place so much that I bought a T-shirt to brag about our experience upon our return back home to California. We need more places like this all over the country.
