I will say if you're in a rush to grab a cup of coffee and go, this probably isn't the place to go to. I was here around 945 on a Wednesday and they were slammed. It only took about 20 minutes to get my to go order and latte, which was worth the wait. Will come back and dine in the next time I'm in the area.

While passing through Ephrata we searched Yelp for dinner ideas. The strong reviews of Stonehouse…read moreCafe got our attention. It's definitely a cute place - smallish, but with lots of character and good food. They have a no nonsense espresso machine and they made me an upside-down dry cappuccino without any hesitation. If I lived in Ephrata I could see this becoming my main go-to for my cappuccinos. Service was friendly but a little slow. It could be our timing was bad, and to their credit the cook warned us that our order (we split one burger) would take 30 or more minutes. That seemed excessive to us but who knows, maybe they just received 10 DoorDash orders right before we arrived. Times like this really separate the good from the great restaurants. Great service would have been to not only apologize, but to also offer us a free espresso drink or an appetizer or a dessert to hold us over. Instead we had to ask for water two or three times. Over all, our experience was enjoyable, but they should consider hiring one or two more crew members.

I recently visited the Lebanon location of Ancestor Coffee, one of four Ancestor Coffee locations,…read moreand overall it was a really enjoyable experience. From the atmosphere to the quality of the drinks and pastries, it's definitely a spot I'd go back to again. Parking & Accessibility Ancestor Coffee is located in a plaza with a shared parking lot. Even though it's shared with other businesses, parking was easy and I had no trouble finding a spot. There's also parking directly near the entrance, which makes it convenient for quick visits or families with kids. Atmosphere & Seating The inside was much bigger than I expected. The atmosphere felt warm, calm, and welcoming without feeling overcrowded. When you walk in, there are comfortable chairs off to the left side, which makes it feel cozy if you want to sit and relax for a while. They also have high-top seating facing the windows, along with outdoor seating. Outside, there are usually a couple of small two-person tables in front of the shop. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn't any shade outside, and the sun tends to hit those tables directly during parts of the day. I also liked that they had merchandise available throughout the shop, along with bags of coffee for purchase. Menu & What I Ordered Ancestor Coffee is especially known for their crepes, and they seem to be one of the more popular menu items. This time, though, I decided to try one of the pastries and a latte instead. I ordered: A warm French toast muffin An iced lavender honey latte The French toast muffin was excellent. It was a great size, tasted fresh and homemade, and definitely did not taste store-bought. The flavor actually reminded me of real French toast instead of just being overly cinnamon-heavy. It was soft, filling, and warming it up made it even better. The lavender honey latte was my first time trying a flavor combination like that, and I was pleasantly surprised. You could clearly taste both the lavender and the honey without either flavor overpowering the other. It was refreshing, balanced, and something I'd absolutely order again. Service Experience The staff were incredibly kind, respectful, and informative. Ordering was simple, you place your order at the register, then pick up your drinks and food at the other end once your name is called. They also offer a punch card loyalty system that works across all locations, allowing you to build points toward a free drink. Overall, Ancestor Coffee in Lebanon left a really positive impression on me. The atmosphere was welcoming, the pricing felt reasonable, the food and drinks tasted high quality, and the service was genuinely friendly. I'd definitely go back again, especially to try some of their crepes and more of their pastry options.

Ancestor Coffeehouse & Crêperie (Lebanon location) is one of those places that's busy for a reason…read more Every time I've gone, it's been absolutely packed, and this visit was no exception. We actually ended up grabbing one of the last tables in the place. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a local coffee shop. It's warm, cozy, and full of energy. You can tell it's a community favorite. We ordered two crêpes and a couple of their February specialty coffees, and everything was fantastic. One of the crêpes we got was the Strawberry Lemon Cheesecake, which was sweet, fresh, and perfectly balanced. It wasn't overly sugary but definitely dessert worthy. The other was a savory crêpe with called California dreamin' with provolone cheese, bacon, spring onion, apples, and arugula with a balsamic glaze and garlic aioli, which ended up being such a great combination of sweet and savory flavors. It was delicious!! Our specialty coffees for the month were also excellent. They had a fun Valentine's themed lineup, and both drinks were rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I got the Not Your Sweetheart Latte and Ryan got the Chocolate Heartbreak Cold brew. If you go, one thing you absolutely have to try are their chocolate covered peanut butter balls. They have Rice Krispies in them so they're crunchy inside, and they're ridiculously good. Yes, it's a local coffee shop, so prices are a little higher than a diner, but honestly it's no worse than Starbucks and the quality, atmosphere, and uniqueness are miles better. They also have multiple locations, but the Lebanon shop has a great vibe and is clearly loved by the community.
