We were able to find vendors relatively quickly but we took awhile to find an officiant because we knew we wanted someone special. We knew from the past weddings we've been to that we needed sound to work well so all could hear, that we wanted humor in it since that's a big part of our relationship, and we wanted it to be about us as a couple (rather than very religious). Harris delivered on all of these points. We kept joking we got a "Jewish comedian" to marry us leading up to the wedding, but the biggest joke of all was on us because we completely underestimated just how perfect the ceremony would be by doing so. Although we only had met him once on skype, he was still able to give us the run-down of what to do during the ceremony like 20 minutes before it began. During it, he was able to turn any normally-awkward situation into a laugh (i.e. Water spilled from the top of our tent onto some of our guests- "that's good luck!")- so he's clearly funny on the spot too. He also is a fantastic writer and spoke as if he's known Us for awhile (thanks to the questionnaire we filled out but also because of his willingness to incorporate that into his writing). Harris Bloom was INCREDIBLE! I wish we could rate him even higher. He was the first and easiest choice we made when planning our wedding. As soon as we saw that he has a background in comedy, AND is an avid animal rescuer, we knew his personality would fit well with ours to create the perfect ceremony. He is extremely responsive and very quick to offer advice and help when needed, and he is very accommodating with scheduling phone calls and appointments. All of our exchanges were pleasant, and when my now-husband and I made a critical error (our fault) Harris was very considerate in helping us fix it. He was amazing. Harris communicated with us several times prior to the date, and customized the wedding,and it was literally perfect. Harris did a wonderful job officiating our wedding ceremony on July 11th, 2016. Our wedding was unique in that it was a Russian-Indian fusion wedding which incorporated both a formal Hindu and Russian (Christian) ceremony. We wanted the day to portray the joining of two different religions and cultures. Harris was very open to all of our ideas in making this vision a reality: he successfully incorporated a russian pre-wedding tradition called "Buyout (Vikoop)", 2 religious Hindu/Christian readings, and our love story into our ceremony while still keeping it short and sweet. Harris was also our most responsive and organized vendor from the initial contact to the wedding day. On the day of, he arrived to our venue an hour early and played a big role in coordinating our wedding party in a very hectic environment. Harris far exceeded our expectations! He was very easy to work with and very responsive to any questions. He's available anytime of the day (We're a bit concerned he doesn't sleep!). He has couples answer a series a questions about the relationship to help him customize his ceremonies. All the questions were very thoughtful and thorough. It forced myself and my fiancé to reflect on our relationship. Based on the questions asked on the questionnaire we had a feeling that the ceremony would be very customized and personal, sentimental and funny. He also met up with us in person a month prior to the wedding to get to know us a little bit better. He is very punctual and even arrived an hour early to our wedding to make sure he had time to familiarize himself with the venue, logistics and made sure he'd avoided any unforeseen transportation delays.
