I made a hair cut appointment for this past Wednesday with Samantha for 4:30 pm, at 3:15 the day of my appt., Samantha texted saying she had to cancel my appt due to a family matter, which is totally understandable! I am losing my hair due to autoimmune disease. This was not an easy appointment to make. Never the, I made the decision to cut off my hair and give in to the requirements of my condition at last. I have an upcoming work event and I made my appointment well in advance. Four weeks in advance, in fact. You can imagine my dismay when I received a text message canceling the appointment less than one week before it was set to occur. The stylist, ALLY, then refused to respond for 5 hours. Who does that? This salon has my card on file. They required I put down a deposit to secure this appointment, which this stylist canceled so cavalierly and with an apology that was frankly insulting. Worst salon experience ever, I am kicking myself for not checking their google reviews as there are multiple accounts of this happening to others. Felt super cheated. Scheduled a 9:30 appointment with Krystal, already nervous about the salon as she is posted as a "barber" rather than stylist, and thought it odd they charge before service rendered when no other salon I've been to does, especially as depending on how things go it could end up costing more (longer hair, more styling, etc). Didn't get a confirmation text or anything after booking. MY stylist sends a text and email, and reminder texts. My daughter was nervous because their website listed them as being "closed" during her appointment time as well. Got there at 9:15 am and found all the doors locked. Wandered around the building for a bit checking the entrances and it was all locked up. Tried calling the salon and no answer. Finally started knocking on the door and the stylist comes to the door with a scowl and informs me we "missed" our "9 am" appointment and she "tried" to message me about it, but since we weren't there by 9:15 (which we actually were), we missed the late window too. Told her I scheduled for 9:30, and even showed her texts with me texting her colleague for answers about the salon because she hadn't replied to my calls and texts the previous day, and showed my texts and even my notifications list to show I hadn't gotten any messages from HER at all. She basically told me too damn bad, and rather than a basic late/missed fee, we are being charged still for the full service, and told me "good luck" finding another salon with such a nasty attitude. The tone she had you would have thought we had committed a grave sin, she was not even remotely courteous. We will never go back and would give zero stars if possible, highly odd and unprofessional way to run a salon. Bare minimum the doors shouldn't be locked when you are supposedly open and your hours on your website should reflect your actual hours open. read more

I got my nails done by Caity and she was excellent! Caity is the owner of the business. She's very personable. We talked a lot, laughed a lot and she really knew what she was doing. Another great feature is the fact that she doesn't price gouge, she's very very very careful about making sure that she's affordable and that the work is high-quality. Caity was dead honest with me about certain things. I said I was interested in a certain style of nail and she was straight forward with me and told me what could & could not work. With her expertise She did offer her suggestions and tried something similar to meet my request. I was very happy with the result. This is the first time in a while that I've had a good experience with getting my nails done. I will be back. The quality of the work and products they use is worth it. I realized I never updated this! I'm adding some images in this new review: two pics of the rough haircut, the state of my hair right before getting a balayage/complimentary chop with a new stylist, and the after. As you can see in the first image, my hair looked like it almost had shelves and was so incredibly frizzy at the bottom... no disrespect to the stylist, but this was bad! It took me forever to grow out. The new stylist, Anna, came in and not only gave me a great haircut, but made my hair so blonde in just one sitting. Now Anna is my ONLY hairstylist, and I even had my younger sister get a haircut and color with her when she visited me in Eugene. Overall, I'd just recommend checking out the portfolios of each hairstylist on Instagram via Honeycomb's website and go from there. I'm definitely a fan of the salon now! read more

A big shout out to Haylee for my amazing hair correction! A different salon had missed the mark on what I had wanted and I was really scared my hair was going to be permanently damaged from it. I showed Haylee what I wanted and why I was unhappy with the result from the other place and she really took her time to explain to me what she could do to correct it and was complete upfront with the process. Worst experience in the 25 years I've been getting my hair done. Very inexperienced stylist was asked to do highlights but didn't want to. I said fine, go ahead and do anything you want to my hair I love all the pictures on your Instagram. Start making small talk and she stops with 1/3 my head done, wipes it out with a rag and says she can't do it. I left so confused and somehow apologizing while wondering what was going on... what just happened?? I slinked to my car in a daze. Finally I decided to calmly call Management ... still confused and wondering what exactly had happened...my intent was clarity and I started to slowly explain what had just passed. I mean, surely the boss would be able to rectify this strange situation and help smooth things out and possibly get me in to see another person? Maybe this girl has something going on at home? When I say I was kind and not looking to pick any sort or fight... I mean... I am the kind of person that hates confrontation and was absolutely embarrassed and sick to my stomach over the thought of being told to get out of a hair appointment AND the prospect of having to call the owner. I almost didn't but I just couldn't get over how bizarre the entire interaction was and just needed help understanding. Noooooooo. No. I was immediately interrupted after 3 words. I was then berated by the owner for wanting blonde hair... I kid you not. I say maybe she was inexperienced (thinking I've never had someone uncomfortable with asking for highlights, especially since I said "you do you I trust you" and acquiesced to her plan and not my usual). In actuality, the stylist was able to do what she felt was best for my hair and therefore she would feel proud to have her name associated with it??! I was in shock more than anything and also started to feel like it had more to do with discrimination. That's the only thing that could explain it. The owner was beyond rude and arrogant about being able to refuse service because they have to attach their name to ugly hair and need to be proud of their work. I didn't ask for rainbow hair with a mullet... I asked for cool blonde partial highlights? She said she wanted to do a root smudge. I said okay? I am beyond confused by the treatment and sudden attitude received from being a customer just asking for a normal hair request and how it resulted in being ridiculed, shamed and spoken to so disrespectfully. Should put a warning on their website - will not do styles based on what client wants if we deem it ugly by our stylists own personal standards and will act in an aggressive manner to potential customers seeking understanding after they leave with partially wet hair and product dripping down their forehead. Now ... the stylist seemed sweet just overwhelmed with her lack of ability (although discrimination is a very possible alternative reason since their excuse still just doesn't make sense at all)... "our stylists have to feel good about their work and you wanted blond hair??" Funny how she already knew the story before I called and I wasn't even able to get 1 sentence out beyond "hi I just left ..". SO this 0 ZERO STARS for the owner who is an absolute peach. Abrasive, rude and disrespectful. You really only had to say "sorry we weren't a good fit and could recommend another local business who does like doing highlights if you'd like" I still have no idea what happened or why. Jessi is a goddess of hair. First of all she's very technically skilled and takes cuts at the right pace (not too fast, not too slow) and listens carefully to exactly what you want. She was kind enough to almost recut me completely because I was so nervous about going too short that she just let me ease into the exact length I wanted. First off, the entrance is weird because you have to go upstairs for them to know you're here. I didn't know that since it was my first time, so I stayed downstairs for about 10 minutes. So, someone finally came in and directed me upstairs. First and last time going there. I was attended by Morgan, who was very nice but I wasn't too happy about my nails. First, the light machine wasn't working so she had redo the nails which took up extra time. When she did them the second time, they looked okay. They have some extra paint on the sides and the nails just don't look great. I have a lot of cuticle. There was a purple shampoo/dye incident and my hair came out purple. After trying to get rid of it myself my hair was a greenish turquoise. I called every salon in Eugene and Honeycomb was the first to answer and even had some stylists switch around their schedules to get me in that day. Jessi took care of me and was so sweet. I have never written a yelp review before but I have to share because I honestly have not had a worse experience at a hair salon. i went in with high hopes because everyone recommended this place but just so many things happened that i can't overlook. First of all, i get a bleach and tone-this usually takes maybe 3 hours max but the lady took over 6 hours. Second, the hairstylist was constantly bad mouthing my past hairstylist and the quality of my hair. I use the same products she used in my hair and I pride myself on always going to nice quality salons since I get my hair done so often. Third, i was seemingly given a discount, but still charged over $330 for my service which is more than I have ever paid in the past 4 years of a bleach and tone. Fourth and honestly the scariest, the hair stylist put hair spray in my hair and in the morning I tried to wash it out w cold water, shampoo, and a scalp brush using light circular motions, AND MY SCALP STARTED BLEEDING. It was been a couple weeks since and my hair has been shedding and looking drier than ever. I don't know if it was this particular hair stylist or the salon in general but I won't be going back. read more

She does an amazing job explaining what she is doing with my hair, and even how it will fade out (for coloring). I decided to go with Honeycomb for how convenient/close it was to campus. Price wise it was also the cheapest for dip nail in the area. Ended up booking an appointment with Kayla, who also does hair at the salon. Don't get me wrong, she was a very, very nice girl...but, she did a bad job with my nails. She even admitted to herself that "they weren't perfect" and she's not as experienced with dip nail. I ended up sitting there for almost two hours. She didn't file my nails down and she stuck with the shape they already were when I walked in. It cost $35 for everything. As soon as I walked out, I immediately called another nail salon to see if they could fix them. Luckily, I was able to walk right in and they were mortified to see how they turned out.
