I decided to go with Honeycomb for how convenient/close it was to campus. Price wise it was also the cheapest for dip nail in the area. Ended up booking an appointment with Kayla, who also does hair at the salon. Don't get me wrong, she was a very, very nice girl...but, she did a bad job with my nails. She even admitted to herself that "they weren't perfect" and she's not as experienced with dip nail. I ended up sitting there for almost two hours. She didn't file my nails down and she stuck with the shape they already were when I walked in. It cost $35 for everything. As soon as I walked out, I immediately called another nail salon to see if they could fix them. Luckily, I was able to walk right in and they were mortified to see how they turned out. I came to Honeycomb spa because of the great reviews I read on Yelp however my experience was nowhere near 5 stars. I was excited to get pampered and relax while getting a mani and pedi. The woman who did my nails was very kind and friendly but unfortunately did a terrible job on my manicure. She cut my finger and pulled out more cuticles than there should have been and left it such a mess. I asked for no color so she did a clear coat and left it looking clumpy and messy and my nails were filed crooked. I didn't receive a hand massage or any lotion and ended up having to ask for lotion for my dry hands (maybe a hand massage is not a part of their procedure but if that is the case that is also disappointing). The pedicure was not as bad but when I get a pedicure I am used to getting a basic foot scrub/exfoliation which I did not receive here (again it might not be a part of their procedure) but I was just so ready to get out of there I was not relaxed or enjoying it at all so I asked for no color. She asked me if everything was good and I am the kind of person who afraid to say I am unhappy with it so I just said it was fine, so I admit that was my bad for not telling her but again, I just wanted to leave I felt like I was wasting my time at that point. I called back later that day to see if I could come in sometime to fix my manicure because the more I looked at it the more I realized I wasted money. The woman who answered was very kind and said they could take me in the next day. However, when I got there I believe it was the manager or the woman in charge of the spa, made me feel very guilty about asking to come back in. I tried to show her the picture I took so she knew how they looked after I left the spa and she didn't even bother to look at it. Instead, she said to me, "I did hear her asking you if you were happy with it and you said yes. Next time you should speak up so someone else doesn't have to do it later" and I'm sure it was not meant to be rude but it was very unnecessary and made me so uncomfortable. have been to places where I am unhappy with the job they do and they are happy to fix whatever the problem is with no questions asked and no lectures. I will not be returning back to this spa, that is no way to handle an unhappy customer and this place was also WAY overpriced for the job they do. I would rather take my money elsewhere. read more

I recommend this salon as it's very convenient to schedule appointments​ and ​it's located close to campus so if you don't own a car, it's easily accessible. The prices are reasonable I booked a hair and eyebrow/upper lip was appointment​​ online and was given a variety of different times that I could pick. The only downfall is that you have to pick the person who you want but if you don't know, you can look at their portfolio. I just selected a random person as I just needed a simple​ cut. I picked the times for both the cut and wax so they were close together but was worried that I​ would be "late" as I had one before another and they were with different people. ​However​, I called and they told me it was fine which helped as I didn't know a good time frame to book them. I found this salon before graduation and my hair and brows looked AMAZING. I wish I found out about this salon earlier as I would have gone to keep up with trimming my hair more often, so I wouldn't have to cut off as much. If I was still living in Eugene, I would come back. I scheduled an appointment on September 9th with Jaclyn (Jackie) to do my hair on November 9th. I have waited two months and lost my chances in other places. I was getting ready for a trip and that's why I planned to do my hair way before. Three days to my appointment Jackie texted me and wanted to change my appointment to another day so that she can help another client of hers. I said ok but none of the days she offered worked for me. I was supposed to show up on the same day we talked before. On November 9th I showed up and someone came to me and said that Jackie is out sick, while I and saw her working. It was obvious that she gave my appointment to someone else and wanted to cancel mine by playing sick. Then she said she's sorry and that she scheduled two persons in a day. And never took responsibility to make it up for me. All I'm trying to say is that they don't value your time and plans. They lied to me and ruined my plans. Btw, Jackie didn't offer to make it up for me. I asked her in multiple texts to schedule another appointment for me sometime during next month and finally she said that's not going to happen. I visited this salon because I got Groupon deal. It is clean and the staff is friendly. But you can hear their neighbors upstairs and their loud music. I had a BRazilian wax. Stephanie was experienced and fast. The inner room could be a little cleaner and have a door. I wasn't comfortable with the curtain which wasn't very private especially when you are offering a private service like this. What if someone wants to scream in pain? Do you want to traumatize all your manicure/pedicure customers outside? This salon is 3 months old so hopefully they make it better. read more

The first time I went to Harlow, I had just moved from New York to Eugene and was hesitantly looking for a new colorist who was as talented as my previous one at making my brown hair look as if I were a natural blonde. Cara surpassed all of my expectations. She is a skilled colorist, and understands that some of us like to keep our hair long and just want a trim to keep it healthy--this is a godsend as I've had so many stylists try to convince me to try some radical new cut, even though I already knew what I wanted. I cannot recommend this salon highly enough. I have never found the salon to be "too dark" as other reviewers have mentioned, even with the dearth of sun common to winters in Eugene. The space is charming, comfortable, and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This is definitely the place to go if you want exquisite color and an excellent hair stylist. I ended up going here on a whim, due to my purchasing of a Groupon deal. I got a cut and color from the owner of the salon, Kara. The salon was beautifully decorated, clean and smelled like a salon (which I happen to love!). I got my hair cut near the spray tanning room and was not bothered by the smell even the slightest. The color was not exactly what I expected (after a thorough discussion during the color selection process), but I ended up loving it and have no real complaints in this area. I would just say, if I was pickier or more particular about the outcome, this could have been an issue for me. The stylist really talked with me and listened to me when it came time for the haircut, so I was pleased there. She also did not hint, insist or seem to be hounding for a tip (which is, unfortunately, commonplace for salons these days). All in all, I was pleased with the experience, for the Groupon price. I am still not convinced I would continue to be a patron at their regular pricing, as the service was good but not excellent. Last week I went to Harlow Boutique Salon for the first time and got platinum blonde highlights and a trim by Brittany Lee Kovac. It was honestly the best salon experience I have had which says a lot since I have been getting routine highlights for 8 years now! My hair looks awesome and very natural. No brassiness and no breakage all for a very good price. The salon had a nice vibe- you didn't feel rushed, music was chill and Brittany doesn't double book so you don't spend time waiting for her to work on other clients. I am so used to going to salons and spending 5+ hours to get less highlights than what Brittany did for me in less than half that amount of time. Full disclosure: I'm adding this review on behalf of my girlfriend, who sadly has not fully embraced the joys of Yelp (I know...scandalous!) but did get a massage from Natasha at Harlow Boutique. Here's what she had to say about it: The good: Natasha is very nice, polite, professional, and provided a good massage with just the right amount of pressure - a comfortable experience, which is important when you're lying naked on a table in front of a stranger! The bad: Harlow is not a very comfortable environment. It was closed that day so the salon itself was quiet, but you could hear music and other noises from the neighboring apartments and the massage room is separated from the hair care area by only a curtain...basically the same situation Jyoti describes in her review. I'd recommend Natasha, but I would avoid Harlow except maybe when there are no other customers present. A little privacy please! read more

I went in following the Groupon deal for a cut and partial highlights. I would agree that the salon was a bit dark, but it's well decorated, clean, and very hip. Water, tea, coffee are all available while you wait. I've done groupon deals for partial highlights before at other salons, and I was expecting just 10-15 foils on the top of my head. Instead, Cara (the salon owner) spent a good 40 minutes putting in at least 40-50 foils from ear to ear. She was attentive to my concerns, how I wanted my hair to look, and the style I was going for. It ended up being much brighter than I was expecting, which took a day or so to get used to, but it looks great! I'm not good with change, but I've been getting compliments left and right and now love the color. The cut is EXACTLY what I wanted as well, and I'm excited I found a salon that I like after 2 years in Eugene. Right before my visit, the State walked in to do a surprise inspection. Cara felt so terrible about delaying me that she offered me a free haircut in the future as well. I've heard good things about this salon but all the good reviews for nails I see are with Caity. I did my nails with Morgan and am dissatisfied. I came in wanting one thing and ended up with something completely different because she didn't want or like what i asked for!!! Paid $55 for something I'm not happy with, have glue left on my fingers and had to keep asking her to fix them because she was in such a rush to leave. Their colors are very limited and I was very tempted to leave but only stayed because of their threat to charge me for a "no show". Had high hopes for this salon but very disappointed :/ Update: Came in to fix my nails and Caity offered me many good options. I could tell she cared and wanted me to leave happy. At this point, I just wanted the gel off but she was kind and fun to talk to similar to Morgan. They're all very nice, just didn't get what I was looking for originally. I honestly say that this was the best haircut I've ever had (and I can be pretty picky too). Brittany was insanely knowledgeable and gave me exactly what I wanted. I decided to make the plunge from dark brown/red hair that was half way down my back to above my shoulders and blonde. I have a few friends who do hair and had asked their opinions and they all said dont do it. But when I told Kelsey what I wanted she said heck yes let's do it! She gave me the most amazing hair cut I have ever had which is good since I have never had short hair and was really nervous. The color was wonderful and I even went back two weeks later to get more blonde. My hair is still as soft as ever. She did such a good job keeping my hair safe while letting me go blonde. I will keep coming back. Also got an eyebrow wax last time that I was pleased with. The price is always really good a I usually get three of four services while there and can stay under budget :) that makes me one happy girl. read more

I went to Harlow because I won a Brazilian wax and spray tan at a fundraiser event. I got my first-ever Brazilian from Jessica and have to say that she is an absolute doll. I can't say as much for the salon, though. The room where I received my service had a curtain for a door and there was a man getting his haircut less than three feet away. I could clearly hear a couple of the stylists talking with him about his relationship, so I know he could hear me getting my privates waxed! The room I was in was far too small and Jessica had to keep walking around the table to get to the wax. When my service was done and I was applying lotion, some dripped on the floor. When I used my towel to wipe it up, the floor was filthy black. I have been to some pretty great salons, and was hopeful about this one, but I think Tabatha needs to pay them a visit first.
