This is a really good buffet for those who like seafood. Salmon, fried fish, scallops, mussels dynamite, shrimp probably 10 or more different ways, plus a good selection of other Chinese buffet entrees. All the food is very tasty, and they keep the buffet well-stocked. Restaurant decor is typical for Chinese buffets, service is friendly and attentive. Google Maps brought us to the parking lot in back of the building where there is another entrance, but we drove around the front to enter through the street entrance instead. You'll see their sign and another sign for A Healing Place. Go through that door and it'll bring you to their door on the right. We were greeted right away and offered a couple of different booths to sit at. I can only tell you that we paid $15.25 on a Sunday, which I think might be the most expensive. The price list is at the entrance of the buffet, but I didn't take a photo since I already took so many. Drinks are extra, so we got water, but I think soda is only $1.79 and includes refills. I saw a sign that stated they offer 80+ items. I didn't count but am pretty sure it's true (see photos!). Choices range from salad, sushi, soup, and both traditional and new-to-me Chinese food! I didn't try peanut butter chicken or the steamed wontons since those weren't really standard stuff to me. I ate a lot of cocktail shrimp and a lot of standard Chinese fares like the mayo shrimp (walnut shrimp without the walnuts), chicken with broccoli (normally with beef), and chicken w/mushroom. Lo mein was kind of like our chow mean (eating Chinese food outside of the Bay Area is sometimes challenging). Initially it wasn't hot, so I'm not sure if that means their steam table isn't work. I also tried the BBQ chicken, which had a hint of hoisin sauce (not American BBQ sauce anyway). Some items like the steamed flounder was a little salty, and in general some items tasted very similar because they are made using similar ingredients, so keep this in mind. The highlights for me were the cocktail shrimp, a sushi that had multiple sauce on it, vegetarian egg role, and green beans. I think I ate 4-5 plates before going for dessert. Cantaloupe was very sweet, jello was okay, but that cooler of ice cream was a nice touch. The ladies working there were very nice. read more

Ordered chicken chow mein, won ton soup & spring rolls. Chow mein had no noodles, was slimy & soggy pile of boiled looking chicken onions and celery. Inedible. The soup tasted like soap and canned condensed broth. Spring rolls were marginally edible, as was the fried rice that came with the chow mein, but nothing I would ever order again. The buffet isn't too bad a bit pricey though. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR ODERING OUT THOUGH. We had swore off doing this due to weird quality issues but due to the snowstorm we went for close proximity, we paid for it. Our order of general tsao was really the worst Asian food any of us had ever had. I believe it was actually chicken at one time but it was so hard ALL the way through and crunchy that it seemed like they had microwaved is WAY to long or something so that is hardened it up to the point that it was virtually not edible. The only thing edible was the broccoli, so we paid $13 for limp broccoli. I believe now that they don't even pull the orders from the buffet food. Ordered take-out of the Chicken & Broccoli, Vegetable Lo Mein, and Fried Dumplings. Generally speaking, everything lacked flavor. This is the first time I ever had fried dumplings that were deep-fried. Usually, Chinese restaurants take their boiled dumplings and pan-fry them on one side to create some crisp sides/edges. Ordered the chicken chow mein. Chicken chow mein contains deep-fried crunchy golden egg noodles, green peppers, pea pods, bok choy, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and chicken. What I received was chicken, bok choy and onions in a watery white liquid and fried rice. When I called was rudely told that what we make take it or leave it. Worst customer service ever. Normally a buffet would not get a 5 star. However we hit this place at a perfect time. FRESH because we arrived as it opened by chance. They were wearing masks, they supplied gloves and sanitizer at each plate table. Encouraging Fresh gloves each time you go up. Even provided masks if you didn't have one. Ha, I can't believe I'm writing about a Chinese buffet. I'm only writing a review because I used to work directly above this buffet for a wonderful paper brokerage company. We would sometimes hit up the buffet for a cheap lunch (took me awhile to realize that even though they let you eat as much as you want, you probably should stop eating before you feel like you're going to burst). It's a very standard Chinese buffet, which makes it difficult to rate. I mean, what do you give an average americanized Chinese buffet? Would a great Chinese buffet be a 3 or a 4? I guess I'll give this place a 3 b/c that sounds like "average", but in the grand scheme of all types of restaurants this place would rank no higher than a two. read more

This is a pretty typical Chinese buffet, not too bad, not great. They do have a pretty good selection of things. I like the General Tso's Chicken and spring rolls the best. Thanks to the polar vortex, the other restaurants on Wisconsin ave were closed during lunch, so I find myself here. I cant say that one plate and a soup accurately reflect all of the items on the menu, but that was enough to discover that three of the chicken dishes taste almost identical and are served in a heavy, sweet sauce. The rice was the upside...moist and sticky. The ice cream looked decent,.but its lunch time and negative 9 outside, so I didn't try any. I guess if you want quantity for a low price, and dont have an overly discerning palate, this might be your pace. Friendly staff. Spare me people with your mediocre reviews. That tells me you've never lived in Wausau and had to deal with blah fare. This buffet rocked. They had wontons and dim sum which we added to the egg drop soup, which was full of egg. The egg rolls were not bad and I really liked the spring rolls. There were probably 20 entrees, all hot and fresh. We always appreciate a buffet with peanut butter chicken. We sampled the pork stir fry and the seafood dishes besides our favorites and we were perfectly happy with everything we tried. This is much more than a low end buffet.. I'm writing this strictly from the take out experience, but thought I'd write down my experiences right away rather than wait til I dine in. My mother was meeting a friend for lunch so she said she'd bring me lunch home. I looked online and found a menu of items individually priced so I thought they had whole entree in addition to the buffet. Boy was I surprised and thrilled when I saw a selection, albeit small, of sushi including my favorite, salmon. I told my mom I'd take 2 salmon rolls. Unfortunately this menu is wrong. They do have sushi, but it's not nearly as extensive as the already small selection I found online. They only had California rolls today (I'm not sure if that's the only one they ever have or if it changes) but 8 pieces (although I was expecting 12) cost less than $3! And they were some of the BEST California rolls I've had! They also allow take out from the buffet for $4.95/lb... I wonder how many pieces of sushi I could get for a pound... My mom also said that the selection was one of the largest she's seen in a Chinese buffet and it was also the best tasting she's ever had. read more
