It took a long time to take our order, she forgot we were placing a to-go order, never offered a tea refill, and did not check on us after the food was delivered -- even though we were clearly engaged, taking photos of our food, and reviewing the menu for Yelp. great place, hidden gem, located next to the gas station. place was very clean, and the food was great, fresh, hot, and very tasty. waitress was very fast and didnt have to ask twice for anything. very nice letting you enjoy your meal, and time enjoying time with one of my best friends. some other places keep bothering you, asking if everything is ok or if we need anything. not here, they know to let you enjoy your meal and company. and they also know to come to your table if you need anything, for they check on you from a distance, which i like. im sorry i forgot to take photos. however, i had the kung pao chicken with white rice, and wonton soup. everything was freshly cooked, and hot. thank you hong kong cafe, will revisit again when im in the area ;) read more

I hadn't yelped then. it it was a couple years ago when I did last review. still a very good meal very clean place hasn't really changed too much. however the heat was not very good it was awfully cold at the restaurant that's one thing that I didn't know this. on this particular visit I had the pepper steak with the steamed white rice and also a side of broccoli. also had a can of Coke Zero. the steak was done nice there were way too many peppers for me though didn't need that many and they were kind of hard. the only thing I really wasn't too fond of this time was the white rice was very sort of sticky and gluey luckily there's a nice other sauce where it pretty much separated out. but I definitely come back here and eat again unfortunately it's not five star but it's still a good solid four and a half. about the cold dining room with the heat turned down kind of ruined a little bit of the enjoyment. didn't want to eat the truck cuz it's awfully messy. read more

I tried this place first via DoorDash. It was excellent! The chicken with snow peas was very good, all white meat chicken. The wonton soup was a little bland but then you doctor it up with soy and hot chili oil and voila! lol I will say the wontons tasted like they were made in house, so that was a plus. Couple days ago we went and sat down to have lunch. It's a nice little restaurant, very clean and the bathroom was super clean! They are definitely super busy at lunch. The two ladies who were running it made it look effortless for having to man the drive thru, wait tables and bus their own tables and handle pick up orders. Still super attentive to the tables and always smiling and welcoming people as they arrived. The sesame chicken was good but tasted more like orange chicken, very tangy. Crab puffs had a hint of crab but mostly were cheese puffs, which me being a cheese lover I was like "works for me!" lol The roast pork lo mein was bomb! Lots or pork medallions and veggies! My husband had the chicken with garlic sauce and says it was a sweet heat, which I then tried and was like whoa! The heat stays with you at the back of your throat. I haven't received my food yet, so this review is strictly on service. Our server has tried several times to get us to leave by telling us how long our food will take. No one greeted us, so we sat down in the nearly empty dining room (one other table occupied). When our server finally came to speak to us she said it would be at least 25 minutes before they could start our food, then warned us on individual menu items. The restaurant closes in 90 minutes, so we will see how long we wait. I definitely get the feeling that our server does not want us here. This restaurant followed COVID guidelines and was clean! My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out after having a bad experience with our previous favorite Chinese restaurant. We were welcomed with a warm smile and great attitude by the cashier! We took our food to go. I ordered my usual: beef and broccoli with wonton soup and an egg roll. The food was delicious! It wasn't greasy and the sauce wasn't salty. The food was fresh! I believe it was cooked from scratch. It definitely had a different taste from your Chinese chain restaurants. I can see why this place is highly rated in the Mont Belvieu Area. Just great all around. We will be back again to try other dishes! read more

The only reason I'm putting 1 star is because I liked the crab puffs the kung pao chicken tasted like pepper and soy sauce and the amount of fat on the chicken was insane the cashew chicken tasted like soy sauce and you get more vegetables then rice and we weren't informed they only do canned sodas for dine in until after it was brought to us wasted 40$ I would not recommend eating here read more

This place doesn't look like much. It's actually attached to a gas station and next door to a truck stop. But, their food is really good. My favorites are the LoMein and crab puffs. I also like the General Tso's chicken just wish it was a little spicier. Hidden gem! Parking was not an issue. Now don't get swayed because it is connected to a gas station. This place is very good! They have been open for about a year. I visited about 2 on a Friday and there were no issues with getting a seat, the place was empty. Nonetheless, we decided to stay because it was quite and clean. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I had general tso's chicken off the lunch menu and it was excellent. I don't know what my guest had but it was all consumed. Between the two of us with tip the meal was $20, that included soup and an egg roll. I definitely recommend this spot and again don't let it being connected to a gas station think it is a hole in a wall, it is not. read more
