I was a little skeptical about visiting this place after seeing some of the past reviews, but I decided to try it since I was craving Chinese food and there aren't many options in the area, especially for a buffet. I'm glad I came! The place was very clean and the service was excellent. I came on a Friday around 2pm and the place was pretty busy. I was seared quickly and I headed for the food. The choices were vast and everything looked great. All the food was fresh and piping hot. I ate too many things to mention, but nothing disappointed. I would recommend this place if you live in the area and are looking for a good Chinese buffet. My total for one buffet and drink was $20.55 before tip, so not too bad for all they offer. read more

My family always enjoys eating here. Hibachi has a huge selection of dishes to choose from which are hot and fresh, so everyone can find entrees they like. I quite literally downloaded this app just to warn future customers, the food was abysmal and the smell of the restaurant itself reeked. The restrooms were worse than a gas station and the fruit section had flys on it, while a man poured water.. yes just water on some dried up clams. Waitresses hovering around as if the restaurant as if they were about to close.. it's 11:30 in the morning!!! I'm not going to sugarcoat this because someone can wind up VERY SICK from here. Every time my family of 3 go there, we get welcomed in by the hostess, and from there the server will watch us eat, they always refill the men's drink until the ladies drinks are down to the brim. Also, if you don't leave a tip that is more than five or six dollars your server will loudly speak in their own language at you and walk away it really just kills the environment after trying to enjoy a warm meal with family not to mention I have gotten sick multiple times eating here and have to run to the restroom in the middle of dinner after just a few bites sometimes it's good sometimes it's not. I just wish they would do better with making sure everything is sanitized and no cross-contamination is happening. read more

Servers literally watch you eat your food, which is weird to me. Some of the food was great, like the rice, lo mein noodles and mussels. Shrimp was my favorite out of everything. The food itself isn't bad but the fact is they cross contaminate. They have more than 1 buffet booth or w/e you call it. They could easily separate the seafood from the non seafood but they do not. They'll alternate and have seafood, no seafood, seafood. I've had those little red lobsters in like my chicken and broccoli. I'm not allergic, I just don't like seafood but what about people with shellfish allergies? This could easily be prevented by not overstocking the hot plate and keep seafood away from the regular! read more

We have been to Hibachi several times. It is a very extensive selection of foods they have. Have been usually at lunch and there is never a wait. Price is reasonable during the week but not willing to pay their weekend prices. Food is always hot and fresh. Sushi is available here as well but not a fan of sushi. Well I'll start by saying me and my family came there happy that there was something opened after the hurricane. We walk in there hoping to eat some good food, everything went well till what I've only heard stories of happened. One of my family members found a worm in our food. Wow how our emotions changed. We told the manager, which spoke to the owner but they didn't want us to leave without paying. I am very disappointed and will never return. We will let others know and possibly pursue a lawyer. I may be biased as I've enjoyed this establishment for over 10 years. I no longer live in the area however when I can I will visit. The food always hits the spot for me. I enjoy the Spicy Chicken, Spiced Pork, Noodles, Green Beans, Hibachi Rice, Dumplings, and the Cheese Rangoons.. those are my favorite! The hibachi grill is awesome and you can load up your plate and seasonings and watch them cook it for you.. so yummy. Lots of fresh salads and fruits as well. Once upon a time they had a chocolate fountain and a server would scoop Blue Bell Icecream for you. That is not the case anymore. Is it the cleaniest? Hmm... I think the servers do a good job cleaning and the bussers do a good job cleaning up the tables. Always room for improvement but I don't feel disgusted when I'm sitting down. Since Covid I always carry my own sanitizing wipes because you know.. that's what I do now. The employees wear masks but it's just the customers who don't Lots of people coughing and sneezing but that's just the customers... approach with caution I guess but anyway I enjoy this location over the one in Katy. If I could give this place -5 Stars I would. I walked in with my handsome boyfriend and we were immediately thrown off and felt like we were more of a hassle rather than a customer. We were very reluctantly seated down and left alone to figure out what to do or how to get our food. Once we finally mustered the courage to go up and start dishing ourselves we had to dance around the countless angry workers furiously sweeping away the crumbs left from others before us. The food looked either burnt or raw, no in between. Don't even get me started on the taste. As someone who has enjoyed mussels and clams all of their life, I shamefully have to take a break from such delights for a while, as they have ruined them for me. They steal your money thinking that they have the legal right to it when they do not. There is no law saying that we have to tip. Plus I don't tip when it comes to a shift change and you want to think you're getting a tip. I had to wait 30 minutes just to pay and that is completely BS and totally uncalled for. Your waitress wanted to try and stiff me $3 and then when I had my wife say something to the people up from; the waitress's excuse was; "oh I sowy (best Chinese voice). You now charge dinner price for lunch's d that is complete BS as well because you want to take advantage of people during COVID. I've eaten at a lot of Chinese buffets for lunch and I'm not really a fan. This buffet proved to go far beyond my expectations. The food was actually on par with some Chinese restaurants. I had many samples and the person I ate with did the same after the first sample plate my friend said "this buffet is going to be $15 a person plus tea plus tip." I agreed, the food was much too good to be a cheap Chinese buffet. Above and beyond the 12 steam tables of normal Chinese buffet items, they also have a walk up Hibachi bar where the chef will put ingredients you pick together and make you a personal Hibachi entree. They also have the usual but pretty good sushi bar. The staff was very good they were on top of everything the teas remained filled and the plates were always cleared when we came back to the table. The best part, to our surprise was that the lunch buffet was $7.69 so with tea our bill was $10 a piece. That is not bad considering you can't get out of the other local Chinese buffets for less than $12-$15 apiece for lunch and they are nowhere near as good. I will be back. read more

I came here with a big group of coworkers today for lunch. Now I have been trying to eat vegetarian more frequently, which can be a challenge in Baytown; I gave it a try today and Hibachi Grill & Buffet worked perfectly - so if you are a veg-head don't shy away from this place! But also, if you are a meat-eater, rest assured there are PLENTY of dishes to satisfy you. Heck, even if you don't like Chinese food, trust me, you'll leave here absolutely stuffed because they've got something for pretty much every palate. And for the price, especially for lunch, you really just can't beat it. There are multiple hot-food serving stations - maybe 6 or 8 total stations for entrees alone, each of which contain 10-12 entrees - and that doesn't include the salad and dessert stations. There's everything from General Tso's and egg rolls to cheese pizza and French fries. There's a sushi area which offers rolls and nigiri, and even some seaweed salad rolls which I enjoyed. There's different soups - hot and sour (decent), miso (kinda lacked flavor), and egg drop and wonton (didn't try). There's a dessert area with everything from fresh fruit to petit fours to Asian-style cookies, and of course the ice cream (not soft serve - it's the real deal) and the star of the show - the chocolate fountain (but I wouldn't touch those pretzels - they've gone past stale all the way to soft, yuk). I personally stuffed myself on rice noodles and a variety of sautéed and sauced and steamed veggies and soups, had fruit and petit fours and banana pudding pie for dessert, and left absolutely stuffed and happy. I'm not going to pretend like it was gourmet but I enjoyed it. My coworkers had mixed reviews, which is why I ultimately landed on 3 stars - a few folks weren't terribly impressed with some of the grilled meats (said they were dry and tough) while others thoroughly enjoyed the typical Americanized Chinese food - general tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, etc. I don't think anyone tried the hibachi so I can't comment on this. Service was good - plates were cleared and water stayed mostly full. The place was clean, especially the restrooms, so that definitely made me feel good. read more

They have a really good variety of foods you can choose from. The staff is always on top of things and super polite. The restaurant is always immaculate no matter how much business they have at the time. The sushi bar could use some work but hey...this is a buffet so it's as good as it gets without a significant jack up in price. The hibachi grill is always a treat and I enjoy a custom dish made to order. Can't forget the ice cream for dessert. It's the real deal and not that weird stuff out of a dispensing machine. This is one of the largest Asian buffets I have ever seen - and it's only $10 for lunch! (including tip!) It has almost everything you can think of - from sushi to an actual hibachi grill to regular Asian food to fries and pizza to BBQ to a large fruit and salad bar to a whole booth dedicated to dessert! (Not including ice cream which is located separately!) And okay - it's not phenomenal food. It's a giant buffet what do you expect? But it's pretty darn good for how many choices they have! It hits the spot no matter what you are craving and that's what I like about this place. My only problem is self-control - it's really hard to go back to work and concentrate after eating such a large meal! I would also like to point out that it's definitely better than it's Clearlake counter part. +1 for the CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN. I mean seriously - how many buffet places have that?? Yesterday was my first time back here since before the COVID shutdown, as I was apprehensive about eating at a buffet. My fears were realized as Hibachi now has two big problems: Very unsanitary - people touching, coughing, sneezing all around the foods. Minimal attempts at sanitation. Super spreader! And the second problem is that the food is worse and more expensive than before. For a $16 lunch (11.99 plus drink and tax) there are some really great restaurant choices in Baytown.
