Hong Kong has been my go-to Chinese takeout place for over 15 years. About a month ago, my Daughters and I ordered takeout and were disappointed in the food. The Generals Tso's was bland, The shrimp in the shrimp and lobster sauce dish were significantly overcooked, and the rice lacked seasoning. Assuming that was a one-time issue, I ordered again tonight with similar results--and they even missed sending the side order of Pork Fried Rice. Very disappointing. Given my long history with this restaurant, I will likely give them one more try, but I am now officially nervous that I am going to have to find another Chinese Takeout place. read more

We have eaten there 4 or 5 times recently and would return. The outside is a C-, the inside a C+, but the food has always been a solid "A" for us. We order the dinner as a combo. You get choice of soup, egg or spring roll, the dinner selection, rice, and ice cream all for $15-$18! Plus, there is also enough to take home for a second meal. Can't go wrong. read more

Do not trust the photos at this restaurant. I moved from NW Ohio and there was a restaurant there that I used to get almond chicken at regularly. I was excited to see the exact same dish in a photo from this restaurant. What I received was nothing like what they were advertising. Not only that, sour soup tasted like beef.. no hot no sour. Okie., so. The goddess ordered egg rolls. None were delivered as part of the order. Strike one. Gen Tso chicken. Old oil made it smell bad and taste inedible. Blech. Strike two. Egg foo young. Oily, heavy, ick. Strike three. But I'm one to give another chance. Wonton soup. Salty, dark brown with more soy sauce than broth. Not fully cooked wonton skins. Chewy and stick. New to area and had a craving for Chinese. Did a takeout order via the app which went smoothly. Showed up at the designated time and my order was on the counter. Food was tasty, but just average overall. Would I order again... yes I would. One thing that was a turn off was entering the restaurant it was not clean. The carpet from the door in was filthy and the glass doors were full of fingerprints - not recent ones either. I probably would have offered another star if it wasn't for that, but I couldn't help wondering if the front of the house looks like this, what does the kitchen looks like... In general, the exterior is very tired looking and needs TLC. When you leave, you drive around the rear of the building and I noticed they have lots of parking... so I'm thinking this must have been "the place" in its day. Door dashed from this place recently. Food was hot and the crab Rangoon was very good. The Sesame Chicken, however, was disgusting. I couldn't rally eat it. It had mostly broccoli and pineapple in it. Very small lunch portion for the price. Definitely not one of my favs in the area. I would maybe go back and try something else again, but I don't know....sesame chicken is an easier thing to get right, so I'm not sure I wanna try other things. read more

Terrible take out tonight. So disappointing. I have been a loyal customer for 30 years, but will pass from now on. Egg rolls were raw inside, curry smelled like perfume, and sesame chicken was such an nasty texture. Oh dear.... I'll take my $50-$60 elsewhere next time. read more

I've been going to this restaurant since I was a kid I've always loved the food but it seems their service has declined. I called in an order for delivery knowing that the delivery fee is $20 minimum order. My total came up to 19.43 and I really didn't need anything else. But instead of just going ahead with the delivery the worker insisted that I ordered more or just round it up to $20.00 because of $.57. At first I was just going to say forget about it and decline my order for the night but then I decided I'd rather speak to a manager because it was just silly. The worker put me on hold for over 5 min strait And did not have the manager for me to speak to, sayingthat she would just go ahead with the order at its price. And then told her that I still wanted to speak to a manager she put me on hold yet again and return saying the same thing minutes later again without a manager. She did this a third time putting me on hold for minutes and coming back without a manager. When she put me on hold for a fourth time I just decided to hang up. She then decided to call me back and told me a manager would call me and just a few. A few minutes later I got another call it was the same worker stating the same thing that they would deliver my order for the $19.43. The point here is that I wanted to speak with a manager because they were being ridiculous. All she had to do was get a manager or ask them to call me back instead of wasting my time and money. I hope they see this review and correct their policy and how they treat their customers it's going to be a while before I order from them again. read more

Ordered delivery for dinner tonight and scheduled the delivery for a certain time as we weren't at the house for immediate delivery. About 20 minutes later I got a phone call saying no one was answering the door. The delivery driver returned our order to the restaurant and I just decided to pick it up on the way home. When I got there, our food was getting cold. Without hesitation, they offered to remake our food and had it hot and ready within 10 minutes. Ordered shrimp fried rice and 4 pork egg rolls all 4 of my egg rolls were soft and dry as if they sat for too long meaning cooked hours ago and delievered or not cooked enough . Was very disappointed, I order takeout twice thanking the first time they just had a bad day but their food sucked truly disappointed , my fried dumplings were falling apart, my crab Ragu was too hard to even eat and my almond chicken was overcooked with barely any white sauce. last night I went outside to take my trash out I left my door open and then I heard somebody hollering come on lady and I looked and it was a delivery guy didn't even get out of his car I had to go out and get my own delivery he said it because there was no place to park but he could have simply parked on the corner. never will I ever again, first time shame on me second time shame on them. read more

I love this place. The food and service are great. It's not upscale by any means, but it's a great cheap eat. The main waitress is a total kick in the pants. Seriously love her! She is super efficient and has a fantastic memory for her customers. I get the moo shoo chicken and it never disappoints. My husband loves the General's chicken. My first experience at this restaurant was amazing! When trying out a new Chinese restaurant, I like to mix it up and see how the restaurant performs when preparing western fare like General Tso's Chicken and more traditional fare such as Steamed Meat Dumplings(Jiaozi). We went on a Thursday evening, ordered the Combination platter that comes with an entree, pork fried rice, soup and an egg roll plus dessert for around $15.00. We opted to have steamed white rice instead. Food was hot, and arrived to the table in a timely manner. We also had the steamed meat dumplings, which were phenomenal. They seem to be made in house. Fast delivery. But we ordered General Tso's chicken and sesame chicken. Both came with a pineapple sauce. (since when?!) The only difference between the two dishes was that the sesame chicken had sesame seeds... I went here a few months ago. I forget what I ordered but I took it home and after two bites , I threw out for the birds. I'm afraid I might have poisoned the birds. It had a horrible smell and tasted like was put on a shelf for a few days when I just ordered it. I went to the Hong Kong Express on Dual Highway and I've never had any problems there. read more

The last time I went here was years ago and I have not been back since that visit. Prior to that visit years ago, this restaurant offered great Chinese food, but the last time the shrimp were severely undercooked and the rice was actually hard and inedible. Upon speaking with someone, the lady said the shrimp were cooked, and that nothing was wrong. I could not finish my meal. I never complain about a meal, I am always happy and grateful for food that's my nature, but this was appalling. The strawberry daquiri tasted like bathroom products smell. Joan the head waitress will memorize your favorite order and give a couple of digs to ya along the way. From the outside the restaurant appears like its better days are behind it, but that is far from the case. The inside of the restaurant is kept clean and it shows (although the carpet is ready to be replaced). The staff was probably the most attentive we've found in a restaurant - but not to the point of intrusive. The older waitress knows many of customers by name and does a great job making you feel important and cares about good service. The staff worked well together and everyone was friendly and inviting. The food was freshly made, and not your greasy Americanized Chinese food. The Hunan Beef & Scallops was good and the Curried Chicken was delicious! We were happy with the meal, the service and we will be back. Our only regret is that after all these years, we've never stopped by here before! read more

Very good Chinese food. Had carry out of sezchuan chicken, cashew chicken, sezchuan scallops, hot n sour soup and egg rolls. Chicken was very tender and well cooked. Vegetables crunchy. Scallops were a little skimpy on quantity. The hot n sour was very good. Lots of vegetables in a golden broth. Just the right amount of heat. Egg rolls good with adequate filling. My family has been coming here for years. First myself when i came to town 30 years ago, now my daughter takes her hubby and daughters. Ms. Joan hadnt seen me for a few years due to a move, but when I came in she said "still want shrimp with lobster sauce and wonton soup, right?" I couldn't speak cause my jaw had quit workin. That lady is amazing. Yea, sometimes some dishes are better than other times, but they do anything to make it right, and there are dishes there I can't get done the same way anywhere else. This was once one of my favorite restaurants. I don't know what happened!! Last night I ordered take out. Shrimp Fried rice and moo goo gai pan. The fried rice had no taste and the chicken in the moo goo gai pan was unbelievable and not in a good way! The first bite of chicken was nothing but fat and the rest of it tasted strange, like it was old. I ended up throwing it away.
