    Shrimp in the Basket

Decided to stop for Thai food on our way north from Winchester to Gettysburg. Tried Bangkok on Franklin in Hagerstown, Maryland. Our server, Tyler, was quick to bring us a carafe of ice water while we looked over the menu. We opted for the Shrimp in the Basket appetizer. The wrappers on the shrimp and barely-there coating on the vegetables made them all so crispy but still allowed you to taste what was inside. The sweet chili sauce to dip them in was tangy. My husband chose the Drunken Noodles with chicken. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth had depth of flavor with a chili flake kick. I couldn't resist the Panang Curry with chicken. The broccoli was tender-crisp. The curry...definitely chef's kiss! Just the right combination of coconut milk, peanut and crushed chilis. It was so good that I was tempted to drink the remnants from the bowl. The tables were spacious. The one wall had beautiful wallpaper with an array of tropical flowers in large print. Soft pop music with an Asian flair played during our visit. Will absolutely return to try more from their menu.

First time here and I was very impressed! The food is delicious. Service was kind. Unique menu items too. Very happy and I plan to be back soon.

My wife got the Cashew Chicken lunch ($12 as of 02/2024) and it was great. Plus, it comes with four Gyoza!

This review is for lunch for two on a Monday in mid-February. service: Zahana was incredibly polite and professional! food: My wife got the Cashew Chicken lunch special ($12 as of 02/2024) and it was great. Plus, it comes with four Gyoza! I had the Crispy Basil Duck ($19) and it's amongst the best I have ever enjoyed. Highly recommended. details: The place was not crowded for lunch, but the interior is small. Street parking outside, but we found a spot easily. The restaurant is no frills, but the food is simply great.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant!! The food was excellent and the owner is as amazing as can be! She is so friendly and helpful and you can tell that she really values her customers!! Today I ordered 2 appetizers. Angel Wings and Gyoza. Both were heavenly and came with the most delicious sauce I have ever had at a restaurant. The entrees that we ordered were as equally delicious. We had duck, salmon, and shrimp. We couldn't have been more pleased with everything having to do with this amazing meal! After we were finished eating, the owner brought us 2 pieces of the most delicious mango cake that we have ever had! Bangkok on Franklin will definitely be my new go-to!! You definitely have to give it a try if you like Thai cuisine!!

Total came out to approximately $43 (not including tip). What's hot - Menu. Pretty good. There's something for everyone, possibly even vegans. I'm uncertain whether they have vegetable broth, but they have options that are vegetarian. There's pho, ramen, rice, curry, meats, and tofu. - Quality. Pretty good. The chicken karage was not overly breaded, crispy, had a nice flavor. Lt was not overly salty and served warm. My tofu miso ramen was not overly seasoned, which I appreciate. One of my pet peeves is when noodle soups are too salty, because it detracts from what the natural flavor should be. My miso ramen had a nice seasoning. My husband really enjoyed his red curry. He said it had a slight kick of spiciness with a slight taste of sweetness from the coconut milk. - Portions. Pretty decent size portions to get you full, not stuffed. Good value for money. - Location. Centrally located in downtown around other shops and restaurants. What's not - Service. Among the 4 in our group, 3 of us had something wrong with our orders. My ramen arrived with no tofu. When our friends received their orders, it was completely wrong (I.e., they were given someone else's order). There were also mistakes in the dishes they actually ordered. Given all the errors, everything was delayed and took longer, which was frustrating. - Payment. You're expected to pay your tab before actual service, which includes tips, as well. Hubby and I aren't fans of that, especially given all the mistakes that our group encountered. - Parking. Since it's downtown, it's mostly timed and metered parking in the area. - Time. They close at 8pm. Our group was the last ones in the restaurant, which surprised us. As such, I asked their staff what time they close. When they responded 8pm, I asked them if our group should leave. The staffers told me that my group was ok, which we appreciated. However, we didn't stick around. Just be prepared that this is not a place you can continue to hang out in. Final answer Willing to return, but not a first choice.

The restaurant is small with some communal tables. Parking in downtown Carlisle can be challenging. Be sure to check the hours.

This is by far the best Lanzhou noodles in MoCo…read more We've been eating the owners noodles for 5 years since before the first location when he was selling it inside another restaurant. Happy to see his nood soup still killing it and winning awards. Order the #1. Add some chili oil. Try a side or two. That's all you need. I personally like noodles, my kid loves belt style, my wide loves knife cut. They do it all and don't miss on flavor.

Think overall, the restaurant probably sat around 50 people. I was recently reminded of the spot from an Instagram reel, and realized that I have been here a couple years ago. The noodles themselves are made from scratch and you can actually depending on why you should sometimes see them tossing stretching and throwing the noodles, which is always fun. I ordered the Lanzhou noodles which was good and creamy/gravy like. It is not for everyone which are waitress warned us about, but it is their traditional style. I didn't think it was that bad but the veggies were definitely a lot softer, and it was interesting to try. I next time probably follow the recommendation of the waitress and go with the oil spill bowl or soup. Some of these noodles come with already pre-set type of noodle like the Lanzhou but some of these suits you can choose the noodle that goes in like the beef noodle soup. You can choose a wide noodle or a dinner noodle or a regular type or extra wide. My friend ordered the oil spill one and that one was definitely a bit more flavorful than mine. Definitely trust your waitress she knows what is typically good. Another friend tried the spicy lamb sandwich, which was quite similar to Xian famous foods. Spicy in those flavor and a little kick. As for our greens, we ordered a side of cucumbers that were smashed in flavored a little bit, I think it could've used a little more salt or maybe take out a little bit more of the moisture before seasoning so that the cucumbers can take on more of the flavor. Overall, great place to go; was a little sad though we didn't have any piano performances, but it definitely was starting to get a little bit more crowded and lively around seven on a Sunday
