Opened on Christmas Day and surprisingly had the ingredient that i was looking for!!! Life saver!!!! Fresh fish and good produce.

It's a little small and there's not much fresh produce. It's better for frozen products and shelf-stable items. It was a good experience though and worth the visit. read more

I saw this Asian market on Yelp in Myrtle Beach, SC. It is really close to my Airbnb, a 5 minute drive. I went inside, the smell was bad. The store isn't that neat. Things were sort of clustered everywhere. They didn't have much fresh products, mostly shelved products and frozen foods. I was going to get a cold coconut juice for the drive around town, but it was only available on the shelf. So I got two drinks and shrimp chips for the beach. I was a little disappointed this Asian market wasn't that interesting or special than others I've been to. read more

These folks are the real deal. Selection for a market of this size and kind is quite good. Some really nice fresh seafood finds. The owners and help are as good as you could ask for. Very helpful, and understanding of those among us who don't know exactly what they want but want to learn! Nice Asian veggies. It's a place you'll return to if you're really into Asian food. You can find criticisms to make if that's your angle but if your goal is to enjoy a source of good Asian products, this is a good stop to make. read more

The selection is the widest within several counties and much, if not most, is imported goods. It's not as complete as you might find in Taiwan or Japan (I've lived in both) but this is Myrtle Beach SC where we just don't have a huge Asian population to support an Asian megamart. If you'd like a much bigger selection of noodles or condiments than you'll find at the FoodLion or Piggly-Wiggly then it's a good stop. There's a solid pick of Thai and Malaysian ingredients here in addition to the expected Hong Kong varieties. The sweets selection is pretty good too. Especially if you'd like some candy or cookies with much less sugar than our American varieties. Some folks might be put off by the scent - my nose thinks it smells exactly like a small local shop in the outskirts of Taipei - it's the smell of some of the items being sold. It'd be nice to have a choice here like they do in NYC or Frisco but for Myrtle Beach, it's better than what's offered in the local groceries. read more

We searched the whole area and the only asian place we found is this.. it's a good size market.. has a lot of variety and lots of goods.. Large market with a nice range of products! Their produce section is more plentiful than the others in the area and I enjoy their bananas, Thai peppers, Thai basil, mint, etc from there. A big shout out to Wesley for nailing it right back on the mark! The store is as close to a Chinatown market as I have found close to MB. I find the selection awesome and the prices fair when you consider almost everything is imported. The staff are always helpful when I need to find anything or I have a question. The good thing it is not just Chinese groceries....you can always find Thai, Vietnamese and even some Indian stuff. read more

The Hong Kong Market is pretty popular. All the employees have been masked and gloved during this isolation period. I like this market but prefer the Oriental Market on Rte 707, Socastee, which has larger refrigerated veggie/fruit and freezer areas and bigger selection of products, such as noodle and rice areas. Hong Kong should probably reorganize the store, reduce brands on same product, and add new products. Staff is very helpful and friendly. read more

I wanted to love this place because some of my past favorite spots to shop have been little local places. They appeared to have a decent selection and actually had the spicy sweet chili sauce that I was looking for (thank you Lowes Food for not having a comprehensive international section). Here's the thing..... it smelled awful... no, repugnant..... no, like something died in there. Really.... what is that smell? And how do they not notice it? My allergies are (for some reason unbeknownst to me) going crazy right now and I can barley breathe and I could still smell the rankness. I like this place I shop here often so great place to stop and get some fresh local shrimp yes they have fresh local shrimp yes it does have a funny smell sometimes but you know what I bet you probably smell funny so if you've never been to China Town or you've never been to a China Market before then don't start talking about funny smells because everyone I've ever been to anywhere in the world and yes I've been all over the world has had a funny smell that just means it's good when you ferment beans and soy and things like that it puts off an unusual odor and if you're not accustomed to that you may find it different but it's just fermentation and it's nothing to be afraid of they have a wonderful selection of multiple cultures of Asian food I highly recommend you shop here read more

I just got got done cooking some scrumptious blue crab and jumbo shrimp from here. This market has very good prices if not the best in myrtle beach. There are no frills here, except 100 different kinds of noodles. Man at the checkout is very helpful and friendly. I'll be back tomorrow for more crab and shrimp...forget what these other snobs says!! read more

I go here for the ramen and the Asian spices, and items like the dried mushrooms. They have a huge variety of ramen, and this is an Asian market, it does not carry just items from China, so there are wide variety of styles and flavors of noodles. This is a little more expensive than the average supermarket that carries two varieties of ramen, but once you taste the difference in quality this is the only real choice. There is also a huge selection of other items, like dried mushrooms and condiments that you can only get in an Asian market. This place does have a particular smell, fish vegetables, spices; pretty much the same way a small market smells in Korea. If you do not like the smell in here, you could never tolerate a street market in Asia. There is another market that is about 2 miles away. Since this is about 20 miles from my location, I will shop at both on the same day. The selection is similar but the brands are different. Overall an excellent option when the brand name supermarket just cannot fill your cooking needs. read more
